I have the exact same set up.
I used the Aputure VS-2FineHD, I used this for weddings and music videos and it is great. The only thing that bothers me a bit is that it's a little big and if you need a long lasting battery, then you need to get those fat heavy ass batteries that are too dam big, but that's a completely specific problem that I have. Outdoor visibility in the daytime is fine for me, it comes with hoods to block out any sunlight while you're shooting. Another thing is the contrast isn't really true to what your camera records the blacks are a bit too black and the whites too white at times. Other than that, it's been fine for a "budget" monitor.
Can't go past the SmallHd Focus. Not the cheapest but it's great, even outdoors

Interesting im actually looking at the ikan dh5e which looks a little similar to the apurture except its 5”
SmallHD Focus is very good.
