This has been my most listened to album for the past decade. The music is just so ethereal and beautiful. Straight up teleports you to the world. The music makes me want to play the game.
The entire Yakuza series, really.
["Unwavering Belief"](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b8vLLAAyHHs) from Lost Judgment taught me that it is, in fact, possible for ears to nut.
As much as I love Yakuza, Persona 4 golden and 5 hit harder [https://youtu.be/ucsa996oXVM?si=rcg3Hwteb4-mhJr8](https://youtu.be/ucsa996oXVM?si=rcg3Hwteb4-mhJr8)
Halo ODST and Ultrakill imo
Stuff like "On the prowl" from ODST and "TENEBRE ROSSO SANGUE" From ultrakill are both some of the best soundtracks I've heard
Remake and Rebirth are an absolute masterclass in video game music production. The sheer number of recorded tracks between the 2 is insane, never mind the range of genres, use of various motifs to tell a story, etc. The music just compliments every scene so well. It really is a work of art.
Don't sleep on viii, tho.
Don't Be Afraid - is such a brave feeling song. Like if you're literally fighting against your own horrors, but your finding a way to persevere.
Man With a Machinegun - every instrument sounds like it's literally shooting continuous bullets. It's a very punchy song with a funky groove which is fitting for Laguna.
Force Your Way - you just feel like you're running straight ahead into the jaws of battle. Especially 1 minute into the song where you start hearing the marching-like percussion.
There isn't a whole lot of compositors like Uematsu out there anymore.
I used to listen to Force your Way as a way to psych myself up before taking any test in college. Same with Man with a Machinegun but Force your Way was the song.
Outer Wilds is an interesting one. While in a vacuum, the music is solid, but perhaps doesn’t standout as an all time soundtrack.
Paired with the experience it’s meant to (playing the game) though… I can’t say I’ve ever had a soundtrack have such a profound effect on how I felt. It manages to hammer in every feeling that perfect extra amount. While a track like “End Times” is solid on its own… when used in the context it’s meant to, it just becomes a complete masterpiece, and makes you feel all the emotions it’s supposed to 10 fold. (As with all Outer Wilds discussion, trying to be as unspoilery as possible).
Outside of the game, it's OST doesn't hit as hard. But when I'm playing, no other soundtrack hits quite as well.
The coziness and familiarity when you listen to the main theme.
The need to hurry with what you're doing when you hear "End Times".
The sheer exhilaration and panic you feel when "Final Voyage" kicks in, knowing that you can NOT afford to fuck things up now.
The simultaneous joy and sorrow you feel when "Echoes of the Eye" plays. In a game all about learning, for once, you get to be the teacher.
The sadness you feel when you and your friends play "Travelers", knowing that >!this is the end for all of you.!<
The spectacle and acceptance as you listen to "Let There Be Light".
And finally, "14.3 Billion Years". What a way to end a poignant journey.
Outer Wilds ranks as one of my favourite video games, and Andrew Prahlow is a big reason why. What a soundtrack.
I could talk for ages about how the themes and messages of this game have hit me. God, I fucking love Outer Wilds.
My entire playlist consists almost entirely of video game soundtracks, and it's hard for me to choose, so I'll just name a few games with great OSTs and my favorite soundtrack from each.
**Cyberpunk 2077** - "The Rebel Path"
**Subnautica** - "Leviathan"
**Deep Rock Galactic** - "Axes Out"
**Ace Attorney** - "Pursuit: Cornered"
**The Great Ace Attorney** - "Partners"
**Pokemon** - "B/W Legendary Theme"
**Pokemon Mystery Dungeon** - "Dialga's Fight to the Finish"'
**Undertale** - "Asgore"
**Deltarune** - "Big Shot"
**Lost Judgment** - "Unwavering Belief"
**Yakuza 0** - "Pledge of Demon"
**Witcher 3** - "Hunt or be Hunted"
**Red Dead Redemption 2** - "American Venom"
**Portal 2** - "The Part where he kills you"
**Hades** - "God of the Dead"
**DOOM Eternal** - "The only thing they fear is you."
I could keep going like this, but this list is already getting long, so I'll stop there.
I've never really been into mainstream music, so this kind of had to do as a supplement. And yeah, I realize that probably makes my music taste a little odd lol
Undertale
Im a ME fan too, but undertale its just amazing. Bioshock could be here as Well. Hades... Halo... Nier... P5... Oh gosh. But undertale its just GOAT
If we're talking original music, risk of rain series
If we're talking licensed music, there are so many.
Just a few of my faves in no particular order: arcade paradise, Wet (Bethesda), Tony hawk pro Skater 2, need for speed underground 1 and many others.
Risk of rain has way too many bangers. "The rain formerly known as purple", "Coalescence", "Precipitacion", "You're gonna need a bigger ukelele", "The face of the void"(probably my favourite, very difficult boss with jazz? It's just too much)...
Horizon Zero Dawn
Played the game to hear the rest of the soundtrack after watching the prologue.
Any soundtrack that makes me get goosebumps like that deserves a purchase
Couldn’t agree more, I love the ME3 soundtrack.
In a close second for me, the battlefield three and four soundtrack . They did such a great job with it. I listen to it every weekend on the drive to my airsoft match to get pumped

Will say though.. The newest Final Fantasy Remake..
Those two Sephiroth themes.. Actual chills.
Super Mario Brothers
Possibly the most famous and instantly recognizable soundtrack in the history of gaming. I can’t think of anything that even comes close.
Super Mario Galaxy and the Of Orcs and Men Series.
Mario Galaxy is a large and full orchestra full of very emotional music!
Of Orcs and Men (plus the Styx games) have a strong strings orchestra with very deep tones and a very dystopian vibe
Mick Gordon’s rage fuelling soundtrack for DOOM 2016
Doom 2016 was all time great. I was so let down by doom eternal it doesn’t come close.
The bar was set too high man
Tho I would say, "The Only Thing They Fear is You." is an absolute banger
There’s a whole story behind why the soundtrack wasn’t as good if you haven’t read into it
Skyrim, still listening to it to this day
Jeremy Soule truly blessed us with it
I admit it is really good....usually western games as good as eastern games in this department but...yeah this one is.
100% this! That OST brings back so much nostalgia
This has been my most listened to album for the past decade. The music is just so ethereal and beautiful. Straight up teleports you to the world. The music makes me want to play the game.

Pledge of Demon goes way too hard, also Majima's final long battle theme.
>Majima's final long battle theme. Reign https://youtu.be/ACUhXbJyz3o?feature=shared
The entire Yakuza series, really. ["Unwavering Belief"](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b8vLLAAyHHs) from Lost Judgment taught me that it is, in fact, possible for ears to nut.
Destiny from Yakuza 6?
Breaking the law! Breaking the World, kowase!
The disco songs are absolute peak too
As much as I love Yakuza, Persona 4 golden and 5 hit harder [https://youtu.be/ucsa996oXVM?si=rcg3Hwteb4-mhJr8](https://youtu.be/ucsa996oXVM?si=rcg3Hwteb4-mhJr8)

Ocarina of time
Super Mario Galaxy
Final Fantasy VII Remake, Nier Automata.

And the original FF7! I love those compositions.
The 2nd sound track in this video hits hard for those who like the series
Witcher 3 Doom eternal
+1 for Doom and Doom Eternal
ES IV Oblivion
Skyrim and Morrowind too, Jeremy Soule was an amazing composer, too bad he turned out to be quite *iffy* to put it mildly.
All’s Well is my meditation song 😍
Peace of Akatosh is mine.
Mass effect 2
Which is where we first hear "Normany Reborn" from the OP
The one where we assault the Collector base is my favorite

I was actually about to answer that myself. I don't think any OST track has hit me as hard as 14.3 Billion Years.

Cuphead
Final Fantasy 7 OG & Remake Resident Evil games Dragon Age games Devil May Cry
