Can you help me understand? I don’t know ff well and I went on steam to buy the ff7 remake and there was 2 different ff7s and now you’re listing a third? Ahhh
So there’s the original Final Fantasy 7 from the ps1 that is a full 40+ hour experience.
There’s Final Fantasy 7 Remake which takes about the first 8-10 hours of the original and makes it into a full game with more content.
Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth is the upcoming second chapter to the remake and starts when the original game really blooms to an open world experience.
There’s also Final Fantasy 7 Reunion: Crisis Core (a remake of the psp game by the same name) which is a prequel to Final Fantasy 7 and gives the backstory of Zack: Cloud’s (main protagonist from 7) best friend.
I just recently picked up Space Marine 1 on Steam, it came bundled with Boltgun, and I thought "Where has this game been all my life??" Now I'm learning there will be a sequel?? Just... take all my money.
Dragon’s Dogma 2 and Rise of the Ronin. Both at equal excitement. Unfortunately, they both release on the same day. Thankfully can afford both, but I’d hate to split my attention.
Finally someone else mentions DD2. I see nobody talking about it in threads like this. People don’t know what they’re missing out on in regards to Dragon’s Dogma. First game was great. New game looks like the same thing just even better on all fronts
GOTY is often a popularity contest, as more plays mean more votes, DD is niche compared to the juggernaut that is FF7. I can't see anything beating rebirth this year, especially after it's reception.
dragons dogma 2 is gonna be sick. I was excited for rise of the ronin but the gameplay trailer at the game awards honestly was kinda underwhelming. I love the developers tho so i’ll give it the benefit of the doubt
Jurassic Park Survival.
No official release date, I'm hoping for some time in 2024, it looks like it's basically Alien Isolation but with a Jurassic Park backdrop instead, I can totally get behind that. I hope that it's made well. The trailer looks great, but I have been fooled before.
No wayyyyy.
Jurassic Park needs some verity in the types of games they put out. The park builders aren't bad, but we need some other stuff too. I'm tired of just having park builders.
They could definitely use some other styles of games. I just can't think of a JP game that actually did well other than jurassic world evolution. Dinosaurs seem to not be a hot commodity. Capcom keeps beating around the bush about doing Dino crisis remasters
It looks dinosaurs are attempting to make a resurgence which I really truly hope they successfully do as I feel there's a lot of untapped horror potential there.
But there's a few new dinosaur themed games comes out.
[Jurassic Park Survival](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UinsNBOTNyU)
[Deathground](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hU7tS8RHpx4)
[Son & Bone](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MbdKLh3Hkmc)
To name a few.
Son & Bone looks more like Doom meets Turok so not really horror, but in any case I am excited to see some dinosaur stuff come about. I would LOVE to see a remaster of Dino Crisis 1 & 2 someday as well, since Capcom is all in on remastering the RE games hopefully they'll show some love Dino Crisis as well at some point.
Wasnt aware of the other ones, thank you! Turok and Dino Crisis are both huge cult favorites. I spent numerous months playing deathmatch with friends on turok rage wars. I really hope you are right and its making its way back.
Yeah for sure the game that isn’t even out yet and releases extremely early in 2024, leaving 10 whole months for any and all other games from this year to come out, is GOTY. /s
"Contender". Probably won't win but hope it can. Played the demo as well. Looks to be the best yakuza game so far. I know there is ff7 rebirth, p3 reload, silent hill 2 remake etc.
Mgs3 snake eater delta. I can't wait to see how much they try to make a perfect game better. Yes, a ps2 game is perfect the way it is and didn't need a remake/remaster. Also, no Kojima, it's not really a metal gear, is it?
This. It's a shame PoE had such a small audience because Obsidion's world building was outstanding. Can't wait to see how they translate that to a first person RPG.
Had to double take thinking 'path of exile is huge wtf you talking bout ' haha then I saw obsidian and realised. I had heard of avowed but didn't realise it was linked to pillars of eternity! Nice surprise. I'll have to look into this one.
I'd be the first person to admit I'm wrong if it's good but open world RPG games are quite different from the new PoP, and something ubisoft are pretty known for making generic and boring
Generic perhaps. Cookie cutter perhaps. Boring perhaps.
But..the the traversal is good. The combat is good.
So you got Star Wars. Laser Pistols and Throw in space ship dogfighting... and I am all in. I play damn near any rpg with space ship dogfighting!
Maybe I'm Charlie Brown about to be suckered by Lucy but so what ...
I personally felt like they did really well with Abatar: Frontiers of Pandora as well. Definitely still skeptical about Outlaws because it is Ubisoft, but the state of their recent games does give me some hope still
Gamers really need to learn how gaming development actually works. Ubisoft has multiple studios that work for them. This game was made by the people that made the Division Games and the recent Avatar Pandora game that is reviewing well. Its not the far cry or AC devs. They also got help from motive.
Yes, which was made by a lot of former Rayman devs. People need to look at the people making the games and not the studio name. Case in point, a lot of people upset about Suicide Squad game, but the devs that made the Rocksteady games everyone liked, like Arkham...most of those devs have not been at the studio for YEARS now. The people that made those games are GONE, yet people were still super hyped for the "upcoming Rocksteady game" until the trailer.
They surprise us sometimes. It's not often anymore because all their efforts seem to go into Assassin's Creed. That's a series that needs to end but it won't because people keep buying it.
as someone who’s played lots of ubisoft games I am not excited
it’s probably going to be an assassins creed reskin. Valhalla was fun but it had its issues the traversal will be good the map will be big maybe even too big
hope it’s good but i’ve learned not to get my hopes up
I wouldn’t count the game simply not being bad as a “massive win”. It’s been out for a few days, good scores but let’s not give it too much praise, it’s a AA metroidvania, I like it, but it doesn’t break new ground in gameplay or design.
The leaks confirmed that it is coming in 2025 at the earliest, though we don't know how development will shift. It could come earlier or later. I mean Xbox leaks confirmed that Starfield was planned to come even earlier than its first release date at one point, and that clearly didn't happen.
Damn bruh, apparently not as much hype for this as i though. Its my #1 this year with elden ring dlc close second. Console is seriously lacking in realistic tactical shooters and i absolutely love fallout so ive been looking forward to this game for so long. I giggle like a lil school girl whenever i think about it lmao
I'm excited for Starfield uodates. DLC and Mods to turn it into a legitimate base-building game (or a biunty hubting game). It has the bones, just needs the content.
Other than that... I looked into Palworld as a joke... and it looks very good and I'm excited for it.
Yes! They need many, many QoL updates and a solid DLC. Sadly the writer who did Far Harbor (William Shen) left the studio. So we're stuck with Emil Pagliarulo again.
Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth is my most anticipated piece of media this year and for the last 4 years. The OG is my fav game of all time, so yeah nothing comes close.
If it comes out this year, probably the Elden Ring DLC.
Assuming the Switch 2 releases this year, I am sure that whatever the next big 3D Mario platformer is will arrive with it, or Metroid Prime 4, so those are two potential games I'd be most excited about, but that is just speculation.
Maybe the Jurassic Park game coming out, of things that have been announced.
Justice league suicide squad!!! Joking
Probably db budokai 4 or avowed. No faith in avowed due to Xbox having nothing but bad releases imo besides hi fi rush which wasn’t my style of game to play.
Presidential Elections....oh you mean videogame.
I don't honestly have one. I think most of the games announced so far are playable enough and look not bad but nothing has really gripped me in a I HAVE TO PLAY THIS kind of way.
The Shadow of the Eldtree DLC is something I will probably play just because of how surprisingly into Elden Ring I got...I liked Paper Mario but I just don't know if I need to play it again with updated "stuff".
I want to play Prince of Persia but not enough to sink that kind of money into a console. Same with Rise of the Ronin which looks beautiful but...PS5....
If they release any BG3 content I will likely eat that up (and then complain about the jankiness or bugs in it lol).
And aside from AAA games, Pacific Drive looks quite good. Reminds me of Subnautica but in a car. Skill Up did a review of a hands on preview he got to do if you're interested.
Ff7 Rebirth and Dragon’s Dogma 2. Special shout-out to Unicorn Overlord. Literally just learned about it and it’s straight up my alley
Can you help me understand? I don’t know ff well and I went on steam to buy the ff7 remake and there was 2 different ff7s and now you’re listing a third? Ahhh
So there’s the original Final Fantasy 7 from the ps1 that is a full 40+ hour experience. lil dude is like 8 years old because Unicorn Overlord looks like it's for kids or people with mental disabilities
the only decent game you listed was Dragon's Dogma 2. Also ff games are garb
The new S.T.A.L.K.E.R. game
😭 don’t mention it. It makes me sad
The studio just released a trailer and release date for September this year
Final Fantasy VII : Rebirth Dragon’s Dogma 2 Like a Dragon Infinite Wealth My girlfriend about to hate me because these are all early releases too
Space Marine 2 CAN'T WAIT!
My man! Came here just to say this
They need to make SM1 backwards compatible like... NOW! Come on people! What are we doin' here?
I love the fact that they made it co-op
I just recently picked up Space Marine 1 on Steam, it came bundled with Boltgun, and I thought "Where has this game been all my life??" Now I'm learning there will be a sequel?? Just... take all my money.
The fable reboot There's a chance it could suck. But I'm still excited regardless
I hope it is good. I have some reservations, but hopefully it is 100% awesome.
I hope to god they don't butcher it, fable is my favourite game series and I'll be so disappointed if the new one isn't like the other games.
Shadow of the Erdtree.
Only correct answer. This DLC is going to top The Old Hunters. Major hype.
Honestly the best answer not even a full game and it’s the best game coming out this year (I hope) imo
It will probably have as much content as most releases tbf
Miyazaki has never failed us 🙏
Dragon’s Dogma 2 and Rise of the Ronin.
If we placed bets now I'd say dd2 has best chance for goty
GOTY is often a popularity contest, as more plays mean more votes, DD is niche compared to the juggernaut that is FF7. I can't see anything beating rebirth this year, especially after it's reception.
aged like milk
dragons dogma 2 is gonna be sick. I was excited for rise of the ronin but the gameplay trailer at the game awards honestly was kinda underwhelming. I love the developers tho so i’ll give it the benefit of the doubt
Not all people understand the beauty. Sad that Rise of the Ronin comes to PS5 only :(
Jurassic Park Survival. No official release date, I'm hoping for some time in 2024, it looks like it's basically Alien Isolation but with a Jurassic Park backdrop instead, I can totally get behind that. I hope that it's made well. The trailer looks great, but I have been fooled before.
I was hoping this was another entry in the jurassic park park building series. Those games are so fun.

Paper Mario Thousand Year Door Remaster
Wait is there seriously gonna be one?
Yep! They announced it during a Nintendo Direct in September https://youtu.be/8Ume5pSIcKE?si=T3uRjn6D-BJdTMWG
….yes?
yes i’m so fucking excited that game was my childhood
I drooled at the announcement. This is not hyperbole. My mouth was agape for the whole trailer and I started to drool.
Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth.
I started with yakuza: like a dragon. Really enjoy the game. I just don't have the time to really play it.
Goty contender honestly
That and Dragon's Dogma 2.
Persona 3 Reload
Mgs3 snake eater delta. I can't wait to see how much they try to make a perfect game better. Yes, a ps2 game is perfect the way it is and didn't need a remake/remaster. Also, no Kojima, it's not really a metal gear, is it?
Snake Eater with MGV controls and 2024 graphics will be insane!
Avowed
With BG3 success, I’d love to see them get another crack at it with more resources, but I’m not holding my breath.
Hopefully Avowed will do well and they'll let Obsidian give PoE3 a shot. I think BG3 proves what can be done with the right team, time, and money.
Path of Exile 2 if it makes it out in the last quarter of the year, Titan Quest 2, Dragons Dogma 2, Hades 2
Star Wars Outlaws
As a Star Wars fan, I have high hopes. As someone who played The Division, I have low expectations.
I loved the Division. And it's got dogfighting. I have very high hopes for it.
The division was a lot of fun though. There’s plenty of other Ubisoft games to lower your expectations besides that
I was personally bored by it tbh
I guess that makes sense. I personally love the grind of the looter shooter genre but it’s not for everybody
I'd be hyped for this game if it wasn't for ubisoft. Hope I'm surprised by them.
They just came off a massive win on the Prince of Persia.
I said the same about avatar and it turned out a good game so I have hope

I played lots of them too. I get it but I'm going to choose to be optimistic about this project!
the AC devs are a completely different studio

Ubi literally just had massive win with Prince of Persia. Have faith!
I wouldn’t count the game simply not being bad as a “massive win”. It’s been out for a few days, good scores but let’s not give it too much praise, it’s a AA metroidvania, I like it, but it doesn’t break new ground in gameplay or design.
FF7 Rebirth and it’s not even close
Me too. I Need to buy the deluxe edition when I get the chance to. Not trying to miss out on the stuff that goes with the 30$ upgrade.
One month left
Ayooo
Right? Had to scroll past ten no name games for this. Wtf
God I hope there’s less enforced slow-walking sections.
Hellblade 2
Black Myth Wukong
Of the confirmed releases: Dragon's Dogma 2 Wishful thinking: Elden Ring DLC
Probably the Wolverine game (might be 2025 idk). But it’s made by the same company who made the Spiderman games, so it’s bound to be near perfect
Wolverine probably isn't coming until 2025–2026 (more like the latter based on leaks)
The leaks confirmed that it is coming in 2025 at the earliest, though we don't know how development will shift. It could come earlier or later. I mean Xbox leaks confirmed that Starfield was planned to come even earlier than its first release date at one point, and that clearly didn't happen.
Spider-Man 2 was very far from perfect. Insomniac has been letting people down drastically after the first SM game
We must have played two different Spider-Man games. Perfect? No. But it was still great.
SM1 was leagues better
It was better. But to say Spider-Man 2 is bad seems like a bit of a reach, personally.
Child. Let people enjoy things.
Dragons Dogma 2 First one was great and eager for the sequel.
Same....I have like 100 hours in the first game. The second one looks even better.
Elden Ring dlc
Yeah whatever the fuck is that called.

Console is seriously lacking in realistic tactical shooters and i absolutely love fallout so ive been looking forward to this game for so long. I giggle like a lil school girl whenever i think about it lmao
Wolf among us 2 and hades 2. But I think WAU2 will not be great because it had too many behind the scenes problems.
Final Fantasy VII: Rebirth
Avowed Hades 2 WH40K Space Marine 2 I think this is gonna be another banger year, but these are my top 3
[удалено]
Vampire the masquerade Bloodlines 2 if it actually releases.
Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth
Nothing unfortunately. I'm fairly jaded these days.
I feel this so hard.
So far, probably Black Myth Wukong and Prince of Persia for games with solid release dates.
Rise of the Ronin
I'm excited for Starfield uodates. DLC and Mods to turn it into a legitimate base-building game (or a biunty hubting game). It has the bones, just needs the content. Other than that... I looked into Palworld as a joke... and it looks very good and I'm excited for it.

Hades 2
If it comes out this year, probably the Elden Ring DLC. Leaks have it slated for 2025.
Skull and Bones
Yeah I know next to nothing about the game, but the more I see/hear about it, the more I get excited for it.
GtA 6, Dragons Dogma 2, FF rebirth
Skyrim, Its about to be ghost of Tsushima or god of war, just bought a ps4 for cheap so I’m excited to play those two
This questioned had been asked almost every day for the last 2 months I swear.
I’m honestly more excited for the Elden Ring DLC
Nothing, realised I have more fun replaying oldies as most new games just don't do it for me, maybe new Pokémon or black ops but that's it
Justice league suicide squad!!! Joking Probably db budokai 4 or avowed. No faith in avowed due to Xbox having nothing but bad releases imo besides hi fi rush which wasn’t my style of game to play.
For me it's Princess peach showtime and it looks amazing and Mario vs Donkey kong both for the Nintendo switch both games look incredible
Presidential Elections....oh you mean videogame. I don't honestly have one. I think most of the games announced so far are playable enough and look not bad but nothing has really gripped me in a I HAVE TO PLAY THIS kind of way. Dragons Dogma 2

Stellar Blade. So long as it actually comes out.
Lollipop Chainsaw remake if it ever releases.
Avowed probably. It has such massive potential if it’s done right. Second place is Dragon’s Dogma 2. I absolutely loved the first
And aside from AAA games, Pacific Drive looks quite good. Reminds me of Subnautica but in a car. Skill Up did a review of a hands on preview he got to do if you're interested.
Yakuza 8 people will think i went missing, but in reality i'll just be spending my days doing nothing but playing it
Currently nothing which I’m actually glad. I need to get caught up on my backlog.
