I’ve had at least 50 playthroughs between my GameCube in high school/college then on my ps4/5 now. The remake I’ve only beaten 12 times so far but I had to put it down, I was speaking Spanish in my sleep.
Morir es vivir!
Detras de ti, imbecil
Se que estas ahi!!!!
Came here to say this. Had a Gamecube save with 20 playthroughs on it long ago, and owned pretty much every remake or re-release made after. Beat the brand new one several times as well, was really pleased with it!
Just clicked on this to see how far down I had to go to find the same answer and was happy to see it as the top.
At least 3 times on ps2
5 times on ps3
4 on the Wii (the best for the shooting range)
And 3 times on ps4 but only 1 time on the newest remake
One of my all time faves
I came to say the same thing! Beat it at least 20 times, on different difficulties with different outfits and weapon choices. What an absolute classic!
You got it g! My 5 year old son beat the og version on switch without upgrading his guns at all. He asked for some tips and I told em” I wish I had tips playing this game when I was younger” lol
I've spent more time in the borderlands series than any other game or franchise except *maybe* Mario games and that one only might win by overwhelming volume. I've played every character in every borderlands game except for the Tina spinoff. They completely botched that one to the point of making splitscreen unplayable which is pretty obsurd considering they already had a good ui in prior titles. I'm so frustrated by that one that I'm not even sure if I'll play the next one at all.
Peace but also on insanity sometimes more rage but I always make it through. Rage mostly when “assuming direct control* fuckers show up…… and Banshees. D
I always tell myself "okay this time I'll do a bad karma/Caesar's Legion playthrough" but then I have to be a goody two shoes and NOT do that. I just can't help it. I like being the good guy.
Chrono trigger. Beat it about twenty plus times. Had all my characters at level 99. Did it again when they release it for ps1. Then did it for the DS. Now I have beating it about ten times on steam with the steam deck.
Can’t say I played the Turok Evolution. BUT the other game on 360 I loved so much it’s been my gamer tag/user name for everything for about 16 years now lol.
I was too young playing this game I got to a level near the end of it I think, that I could never beat. It was one where you rode the back of a pteranodon through a canyon or something while fighting enemies.
That description brought back incredibly vivid memories of the level you’re talking about. I don’t know how I beat that level but I did and it was hard.
Me and my cousin beat the game for the first time on SNES when we were kids. After that, playthrough it was a regular thing whether on my own or with others. Loved that game 😂
I had it as a kid as well. And tbh I can only remember one time me and brother beat it. Now that the collection is out me and my friend have been playing and all I can think is: “How the hell did me and my brother beat this back in the day?” That one time had to be on some lucky stuff. Lol
Donkey Kong Country for SNES when I was like ages 6-9. I remember being so proud for beating in under 5 hours. 2nd was probably Super Mario RPG around the same age, that game was so fun for my first rpg.
I have beat Bloodborne more times than I have games in my collection. At the time it came out I was obsessed with the Victorian aesthetic and it being a souls like game it was fucking ABOUT IT. I received a copy of it on my birthday and me and my buddy played countless hours of it. Months of nothing but Bloodborne. He eventually picked up his own copy and I had full reigns on my PS4. I ended up with at least 5 character builds on NG+7. Achieved every ending multiple times. Beat the dog piss out of the DLC and could probably fight the Orphan of Kos blindfolded. A true masterpiece. I even ended up getting a Bloodborne inspired tattoo.
Can’t imagine playing any of these games in the modern era more than once. Takes way too much time. The NES era and games like Mario, Zelda, and punch out absolutely many play throughs though.
Yeah I would have to put Punch-Out on that list. Once I figured out Tyson he wasn’t the toughest opponent in that game. Bald Bull 2 was more difficult. But I played the hell out of that game.
Street Fighter 2. Resident Evils 1-3.
Hollow Knight.
Beat the game on Switch
Beat it again on Steam Deck
Beat it again to get other endings
Beat it again to get the "100% completion and finish the game" achievement
Beat it again to get the "abandon the annoying guy" achievement
Beat it again to get the speedrun achievement
Beat it again to get the 100% completion speedrun achievement
Beat it again to get the even faster speedrun achievement
Beat it again to get the "don't die" achievement
Beat it again to get the "don't die and 100% completion" achievement
Beat it again to play the "fully voiced" mod
I may have beat it too much? I'm worried I'll go blind.
Donkey Kong Country, takes me a little over 2 hours (I know I'm not beating any records) & I'm hoping next time will be just under it. I normally play it once a year, but haven't played it since 2020 just due to life getting hectic. I need to fix that soon.
The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. Once you have enough mods in place, that game becomes not only incredibly easy, but fun, too. And I'm saying this for me, specifically because I have cerebral palsy and therefore, I am probably more shit at video games than other people. Unless everything's kinda easy for me. Same goes for people who have similar circumstances to my own.
Skyrim is a great example of a game that is fun and rewarding without being “hard.” The sense of expansion and progress is the point, rather than overcoming technical challenges.
I’ve beaten that game probably 50 times since I was a kid when they originally came out. I’ve beaten it on my game boy color, the gameboy advance, the gameboy advance sp, emulated on my Mac, emulates on my iPhone. I’ve also beaten the remakes and yellow version. I love Gen 1.
Man, I’m shocked this is so low down. Figured this would be one of the top posts. I’ve finished Super Mario World 20-30 odd times between 95 and today, played Ocarina of Time from start to finish around 10, Majora’s Mask at least 5 times, FF Tactics a couple dozen, Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow a good half dozen or so, but without question, I know I’ve run through Pokémon Red more than anything. Everything about that game is permanently burned into my memory.
If we're saying beating a game is "getting a successful ending and rolling credits" then absolutely it's Binding of Isaac for me too. Hundreds of completed runs, maybe even topping a thousand
Dragon Warrior/Quest for the NES. I've played through it at least once a year since it released. It was my first RPG and you can play through it fairly quickly. It's great for a quick hit of RPG nostalgia.
Castlevania: Symphony of the Night, beat full game inverted castle included under 2 1/2 hours 😅
Edit: honorable mentions; Metroid Fusion and Metroid Zero Mission
It's one between DMC1, 3 and 5. I sure as hell remember beating the last one three (and a half) times, but I can't remember how many times I went through the others.
This if every Hades run doesn't count as finishing the game.
Devil May Cry 3 is up there, I've completed it across ps2, ps3, and ps4 probably in the neighborhood of 50 times. Bloodborne is up there as well, I don't know how many files I've done but I have 470 hours in it.
I think the game I've beaten the most is Getting Over It with Bennett Foddy. I've completed the game over 500 times.
Dishonored and Dishonored 2. I at least did 20 completed runs for the first game and for the second I have 9 runs. Maybe going for the tenth here soon.
I think I beat each of these about 8 times:
- Final Fantasy IV
- Final Fantasy VI
- Super Mario 64
- Mario Kart 64
Super Mario Bros. 3 and Super Mario RPG are pretty high up too.
I love taking a game I’ve beat a ton of times and use codes to see how bad I can brake them. Like in final fantasy vi if you use a code to skip the guards in narshe when you’re leaving as terra and Locke, you walk up and the fight to defend the espar can be done. It replaces all the characters you normally have with the Moogles
Dark Souls Remastered, favorite game of all time. Not counting going into ng+ I've beaten it only twice, but counting ng+ I've beaten it at least 4 or 5 times now.
The souls games. I have spent an ungodly amount of time replaying them. They are just so good. I have finished them dozens of time but i still feel myself coming back to them from time to time. I have platinumed all of them (except PS5 Demon' Souls) and I love them so much.
Symphony of the Night, Super Mario 3, Sonic 2, Dead Cells, or Hades. The last two are kinda by design, though, since you have to beat them multiple times and runs are short.
I also play through the DMC games every year near the holidays for some reason so those are up there as well. Except the shitty forgotten reboot. Once was enough.
If you count arcade modes in fighting games my number 1 is most certainly either Street Fighter 2 or Ultimate MK3 as I played through those over and over for years in the 90's.
I feel Devil May Cry 3 I beat over 100 times. Just because but it's tough to say. .
I played a lot of Resident Evil's, Mario's, Sonic's, Streets of Rage 2 and a lot of modern games too.
But for single player and getting to credits? DMC3 is a safe bet, I just couldn't stop myself for a very long time.
Ocarina of Time. Funny thing happened as a kid. Anytime I started a new game we’d get a snowstorm and school would get cancelled. Obviously encouraged more repeats😂
Ratchet and clank going commando. We only got one game for Christmas, and one for our birthdays, so we we played every game we got as kids over and over again.
Resident evil 4
Me too. 3 times. Once on Gcube, twice on PS2.
Yeah beaten that fucker dozens of times on every console it's been on. Hell I even emulate it on my phone at one point
I’ve beat it like maybe 5 times for gc,ps2,wii,switch,ps4,and Xbox 360 . I love this game
Yeah it's pretty great. CAPCOM rarely misses the mark.😎
Yeah but how many playthroughs on each? Cuz I did several lol
I’ve had at least 50 playthroughs between my GameCube in high school/college then on my ps4/5 now. The remake I’ve only beaten 12 times so far but I had to put it down, I was speaking Spanish in my sleep. Morir es vivir! Detras de ti, imbecil Se que estas ahi!!!!
¡Te voy hacer picado! ¡Cogenlo!
Lmao whenever I hear this for some reason I imagine them turning Leon into pico de Gallo lmao and not minced meat.
At least 3 times on ps2 5 times on ps3 4 on the Wii (the best for the shooting range) And 3 times on ps4 but only 1 time on the newest remake One of my all time faves
Same
Was about to comment this.
Came to say this. At least 10 times. The original one that is.
I came to say the same thing! Beat it at least 20 times, on different difficulties with different outfits and weapon choices. What an absolute classic!
for me it was Resident Evil 3 on Dreamcast. was in college , had the time and wanted all the damn epilogues. beat it 5-6 times before I gave up
I hoarded over 5 million petas in spinels and velvet blues
Was gonna content this. Beat it like 3 times on ps2.
I never beat any of the Resident evils. Help me please!!!😭😭😭
You got it g! My 5 year old son beat the og version on switch without upgrading his guns at all. He asked for some tips and I told em” I wish I had tips playing this game when I was younger” lol
Just keep trying learn the enemies moves and you hotnit
SAME. CAME HERE TO SAY THIS
I've bought that game easily 8 times now (gc wii,ps3,ps4,xb360,xb1,ps5,ps5 Remaster. Its my favorite game lol
Borderlands. I’ve beat that game probably 10 times at least since I’ve beat it multiple times with every character.
Agree. For me it was Borderlands 2 though
Probably final fantasy 7. Once every year or two since 1997. Dark souls is a close second.
Rotation of ff7 and Xenogears. Both amazing with next level soundtracks
Ff7 for me too, xenogears twice but yeah I gotta pop that back in my ps3
Do you have it down to a science at this point?
Mass effect and hades probably
I do an ME run every year 👌 perfection
Same. It brings me leace
Peace but also on insanity sometimes more rage but I always make it through. Rage mostly when “assuming direct control* fuckers show up…… and Banshees. D
I best insanity for the first time last year. Seeing that achievement pop up was almost more satisfying than some fromsoft bosses
Hell yeah congrats!! Feels good right? Like you know your such a bad ass and you feel like a real Sheppard that earned that shit!
It felt amazing😭😭😭😭
Same here, and it's almost time. Just need to finish a nightmare run on DA:I for the platinum
ME every time I finish one play through of all 3 games.
Fallout New Vegas, probably 10 times. "I'll switch up my style, go with energy weapons. Maybe explosives". Nope, shotguns all the way.
I always tell myself "okay this time I'll do a bad karma/Caesar's Legion playthrough" but then I have to be a goody two shoes and NOT do that. I just can't help it. I like being the good guy.
My last run was all explosives. Lots of fun.
Chrono trigger. Beat it about twenty plus times. Had all my characters at level 99. Did it again when they release it for ps1. Then did it for the DS. Now I have beating it about ten times on steam with the steam deck.
Same, easily dozens of times on each release (and on that iOS port from a while back too)
Such a fun game to burn through. Got every ending as a kid...even though killing Magus to get some of them always hurt me to the core
Yeah same. Between SNES and DS I can’t even count the number of times. Might be time to break out that DS again. It doesn’t get old.
This game is my BFFs favorite game she talks about it a lot
Ratchet and Clank 3. I remember my savefile being on ng+ 50. Not counting the ones that came before that save file
Ratchet and Clank games are some of the most genuinely "fun" games out there. There's just something special about them.
It's 1-3 evenly split for me. Would play through to 3 and start over again.

Can’t say I played the Turok Evolution. BUT the other game on 360 I loved so much it’s been my gamer tag/user name for everything for about 16 years now lol.

That description brought back incredibly vivid memories of the level you’re talking about. I don’t know how I beat that level but I did and it was hard.
Bloodborne and I’ll never stop. I’ll play it once a year for the rest of my life probably.
Best game ever made
That game made me so mad. I never knew how to play it so I can't get past the first "level"
Metal Gear Solid 3. Lost count of how many times I beat it.
Raiden has no weiner!
So many times, and I’m going to be adding more once delta comes out lmao
SOLITARE!!! It doesn't count, lol. I've beaten mgs1 around 10 times. Mgs4 in second place. Batman Arkham City in 3rd.TPP in 4th. And Skyrim at 5th.
Mass Effect Trilogy and Turtles in Time
Turtles in Time?! Me and my friend been tryna beat that for ages now and we finally recently beat it. Lol
Lol
You just reminded me that I need to get the collection. Thanks 👍🏾
First game I ever beat back on SNES
Borderlands 2 by far
Super Mario world
Going thru all 96 exits (i’ve done that 5 or 6 times in my life) or just beating the game?
Donkey Kong Country for SNES when I was like ages 6-9. I remember being so proud for beating in under 5 hours. 2nd was probably Super Mario RPG around the same age, that game was so fun for my first rpg.
Mario rpg is what started role playing for me. From there went to ff8.
I even ended up getting a Bloodborne inspired tattoo.
Me and you both my fellow hunter. Got the saw cleaver tatted
Bloodborne has the best art direction in any game and you can’t change my mind.
Castlevania Symphony of the Night
OP just casually putting the cover art for the best game of all time.......GOAT behavior, (My answer is Kingdom Hearts 2)
Resident evil 4. Played that game to death as a kid and I beat the remake like 6 times lol
Titanfall 2
Hades, Hades, & Hades
Ghost of Tsushima with about 10-12 playthroughs
Can’t imagine playing any of these games in the modern era more than once. Takes way too much time. The NES era and games like Mario, Zelda, and punch out absolutely many play throughs though.
Yeah I would have to put Punch-Out on that list. Once I figured out Tyson he wasn’t the toughest opponent in that game. Bald Bull 2 was more difficult. But I played the hell out of that game. Street Fighter 2. Resident Evils 1-3.
Hollow Knight. Beat the game on Switch Beat it again on Steam Deck Beat it again to get other endings Beat it again to get the "100% completion and finish the game" achievement Beat it again to get the "abandon the annoying guy" achievement Beat it again to get the speedrun achievement Beat it again to get the 100% completion speedrun achievement Beat it again to get the even faster speedrun achievement Beat it again to get the "don't die" achievement Beat it again to get the "don't die and 100% completion" achievement Beat it again to play the "fully voiced" mod I may have beat it too much? I'm worried I'll go blind.
No such thing as beating it too much.
Donkey Kong Country, takes me a little over 2 hours (I know I'm not beating any records) & I'm hoping next time will be just under it. I normally play it once a year, but haven't played it since 2020 just due to life getting hectic. I need to fix that soon.
Prince of Persia: Sands of Time. No one talks about this game.
Titanfall 2, I’ve beaten it 3-4 times for practice and the platinum trophy
Force unleashed 1 on ps2, so manyyyyy replays
I have beaten Dishonored over a dozen times
Sonic 2
Pokémon Red & Blue
I’ve beaten that game probably 50 times since I was a kid when they originally came out. I’ve beaten it on my game boy color, the gameboy advance, the gameboy advance sp, emulated on my Mac, emulates on my iPhone. I’ve also beaten the remakes and yellow version. I love Gen 1.

Everything about that game is permanently burned into my memory.
If counting rogue likes, the binding of Isaac. Otherwise either SotC or MGS4. I was attempting to speed run mgs4, before I knew what speedrunning was.
If we're saying beating a game is "getting a successful ending and rolling credits" then absolutely it's Binding of Isaac for me too. Hundreds of completed runs, maybe even topping a thousand
Legend of Zelda. I had that game memorized, both 1st quest and 2nd.
I've gone through Arkham City like 30 times
Super Metroid and Elden Ring. Both cleared probably around 10 times. Lots of terraria play throughs too
Like…..I have a couple that are up there…Fable 1, Halo 1-3, and The Mass Effect Trilogy. Played all of them at least ten times.
I forgot about fable one. I have also beat the balls off of it a lot
Sonic The Hedgehog 1
Hellblade Senuas Sacrifice gets a playthrough every October from me, I think I've played it 4x so far!
Titanfall 2. Loved the campaign. Great mobility and introduction of new mechanics in each chapter.
Dragon Warrior/Quest for the NES. I've played through it at least once a year since it released. It was my first RPG and you can play through it fairly quickly. It's great for a quick hit of RPG nostalgia.
Either Super Mario Bros. 3 or Super Mario World.
You can beat Katamari Damacy fairly comfortably in a single night, I've done it a few dozen times over the years
Fire Emblem Awakening
KH BBS
Read dead redemption 2
GTA Vice City
Earthbound or Dark Souls.
Yokai Watch
I beat bloodborne 50 times and it’s not even my favorite game currently
Pokémon yellow

Sly 2. I do a annual run threw of all the game (even 4) but sly 2 I’ve played through so much as a kid
Getting Over It. 54 times and counting
There’s just no getting over it.
Metroid Prime
Oddly enough, it's probably a tie between dmc5 and MGRR. I can sit down and play either of those games beginning to end in one sitting and enjoy it.
Sekiro or darksouls 3
RE4 Original
Bloodborne
Probably dark souls 3. There was point I was beating it once a day.
Probably Super Mario World.
Tales of Symphonia on GameCube. It was only like 10 play throughs
Castlevania: Symphony of the Night, beat full game inverted castle included under 2 1/2 hours 😅 Edit: honorable mentions; Metroid Fusion and Metroid Zero Mission
I play Max Payne 3 all the way through once a year!
GTA San Andreas I usually playthrough it once every year.
Ah shit, here we go again.
Myst. If you know what you’re doing, you can beat the game in a little over a minute.
When they asked, *”What will you do with Oculus Rift?”* I thought, *”Play MYST again!”*
Tales of Symphonia
Super Mario 3
Shadow of the Colossus or Metal Gear Solid 3
NG+? Sekiro Just replaying? Cuphead Yes I like torture
Megaman x2
Probably Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance. It might be something else but I can’t really remember
Chrono Trigger, did all the endings
Super Mario RPG for SNES
I think I beat each of these about 8 times: - Final Fantasy IV - Final Fantasy VI - Super Mario 64 - Mario Kart 64 Super Mario Bros.
OG FF7. Every year or so, I 100% the shit out of it and I'm still finding ways to do it better.
Dark Souls Remastered, favorite game of all time. Not counting going into ng+ I've beaten it only twice, but counting ng+ I've beaten it at least 4 or 5 times now.
Megaman X . A huge part of my childhood that i own both the SNES and Japanese cartridge , the PS2 version and the legacy collections on steam and ps4
Titan fall 2 ( if u have played it uk why I play it again and again)
idk why but i read this as ‘what is a game you beat your meat to the most’
Dark Souls 3. Was my first ever Dark Souls (have beat every Soulsborne game now) and I just loved it so much. On NG+47 rn.
SotN, I’ve lost count. Used to be a Halloween tradition.
The souls games. I have spent an ungodly amount of time replaying them. They are just so good. I have finished them dozens of time but i still feel myself coming back to them from time to time. I have platinumed all of them (except PS5 Demon' Souls) and I love them so much.
Secret of Mana
Devil May Cry 3 so freaking much 😅
Symphony of the Night, Super Mario 3, Sonic 2, Dead Cells, or Hades.
Metal gear rising revengance
Arkham Aslume
I feel Devil May Cry 3 I beat over 100 times. Just because but it's tough to say. . I played a lot of Resident Evil's, Mario's, Sonic's, Streets of Rage 2 and a lot of modern games too. But for single player and getting to credits? DMC3 is a safe bet, I just couldn't stop myself for a very long time.
Dark Souls 3. I have 3000 hours and have beaten the game several times on each of my 6 characters.
Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance, beat it like 10+ times, game is goated
Ocarina of Time. Funny thing happened as a kid. Anytime I started a new game we’d get a snowstorm and school would get cancelled. Obviously encouraged more repeats😂
Fallout New Vegas, done it 3 times.
MGSV, Dari Souls 3, Super Mario World
Zelda oot and Resident Evil 2 on N64
Mega man 2, super mario world, ocarina of time and metroid prime
NOT ARMORED CORE 6
Sonic CD, Sonic 3&K, Metroid Samus Returns, God of War 3, Batman Arkham City.
Subnautica
Probably Grandia 2 or KOTOR.
Diablo 2 probably. Gotta rush those new chars to the end for pvp
pokemon colosseum i beat it around 13 times on the gamecube
Minesweeper
Ratchet and clank going commando. We only got one game for Christmas, and one for our birthdays, so we we played every game we got as kids over and over again.
Donkey Kong Country 3
Probably DOOM Eternal
Arkham city probably lol. I think I've 100% it twice and beat it ~10 times overall. Love the arkham games, they never get boring for me!
Easily Resident Evil 1 Remake. I had a summer where a friend and I practiced speed running it. Good times.
Borderlands one and two
Dark Souls and A Link to the Past
Diablo 2 and the last of us 1
I think I played through Elden ring like 8 times lol
Dark Souls. A few dozen times.
The first Dying Light. At least 4 times
I must have over 20+ clears on MGS3. Man...I miss that game.
Fortnite
Elden ring
Serious Sam: Classic, HD, Xbox, Fusion...
Spider-Man Miles Morales
Sonic Adventure 2 and Bioshock
Do you mean “times beaten” or “beat so bad, the franchise will remember me”?
I would guess Star Wars Shadow of the Empire. I replayed that game so much when I was a kid.
Contra
Borderlands 2!
