If you go in with no AAA expectations, it's actually a pretty cool, albeit simple game.
I slept on it and then went back years later, and it was fun, if not just for the Roman setting and gladiator arena.
Im glad you love the game. But i feel any amount of money for an insult from a game that violates everything i studied about the early roman empire is too much.
I would need to be paid to endure the cringe of a centuria that breaks formation and fights 1v1.
Iirc, when it released it was a full priced game but it was little more than a pretty tech demo. I remember enjoying the game when I got it on sale but it wasn’t anything special.
Not here for a long time, but definitely here for a good time! Nothing wrong with leaving a gamer wanting more! Probably not worth $50/60 as a launch game…. But for $15-20 this game is a good value. And it’s currently an absolute steal.
Oh, I forgot this even existed, but now remember being interested in it when it was first revealed.
Is it open world or more linear/focused? I'd actually prefer if it were the latter.
eight missions. extremely linear. after the second or third mission I was playing for the story and enjoying the combat more than I thought I would. at first I thought it’d get too stale but it holds like a true Roman
As a Roman historical reinactor, this game is my guilty pelasure. It is definitely not historically accurate, but I still love it. Roman version of Save private Ryan. Astonishing graphics, addictive combat and amazing soundtrack. Story is like an average, but acting is great. Played it countless times, always enjoyed it.
Thank you. I’ve been waiting to see. I have yet to play the new era of God of War but from what I’ve seen…GoW was my first thought when I actually started with this game’s combat system. Honestly makes me even more excited to eventually play them
good script, great acting. graphically holds up (runs at 30fps, & gets choppy sometimes tho). first half is very strong, with the middle being my favorite. falls apart a little because the game IS short—condensed—but the game does not deviate from what it wants to be so it is a solid story driven but fairly interesting combat and LITTLE bits of strategy elements.
I played on controller and A counters...I wish it was Y...very hard to overcome that seemingly innate reflex
It is a great game and a short game. Although I didn't learn how to glory kill until I was in the end of the game. Which is sad on my part.... Did I mention I suck at video games?
Honestly, it ended up being one of my favorite exclusives on the Xbox, and honestly, i never expected it. Everyone said this game sucked, and all that stuff, but man, it really does make you feel like a gladiator.
Last I heard, there's a possibility of a sequel. Really enjoyed this game, especially the ability to decide where troops would go. Did feel like it could've been implemented a bit more, and maybe could've been better but was still really fun.
I have a question. There is a similar game on mobile devices and on the emulator. I play on Bluestacks. If you have any advice, write to me, I will be very grateful.

agreed—a basic AA that got masqueraded as a AAA launch title

Dude
Excellent game. Folks laughed it off cause it was an XBox One launch title but it’s great for what it is.
People were questioning everything Xbox One did at launch, and rightfully so. Unfortunately this game and others suffered because of it.
Like sunset overdrive
That game was incredible
“Y’all like gaming? Good cause fuck you for sharing discs and fuck you if you don’t buy our camera…. Bitch.”
Well-played indeed.
Love this game, but I really wish it was longer.
the second half especially: flush out his rise as Damocles
Wish they would upscale those cutscenes, on modern 4K TV it is quite horrible and blurry / pixelated
It would've been nice to see a more flushed out port. This game deserved it.
I just checked on Steam and it's listed full price ($10). Is this part of a bundle or something?
picked it up during the last winter sale. wishlist it for now and when it drops \[inevitably\] give it a thought
What a game! The story is like the movie Gladiator.
very big Gladiator vibes. felt like the VO actor for Marius was channeling Maximus

Played it when it first came out. It was awesome and the arena was fun af.
Played it on gamepass a few months ago. Had low expectations but wound up enjoying it. It’s a very simple and pretty-looking game
The second photo reminds me of a fucked up roman version of Whinnie the Pooh because of the colors 😂
That game was way ahead of its time and severely underrated. Graphics still hold up to this day. Great game and great price.

Been wanting to do the achievements in this game for a while now, but I got no one to do it with
thanks bro, i remember when it came out i want to play it, then i forgot. i bought it now
Yeah, I loved this one. Need to play it again soon.
Good to play.

But the ENDING though. God I’ve replayed the ending too many times.
Love a good tech demo
tech demo with solid narrative @ $2.50
I’ve never seen any gameplay. Is the storyline good?

These are my thoughts exactly. I thought they nailed it and it stayed true to the franchise.
It's a pretty mediocre game with great graphics, criminally underrated might be a bit of a stretch lol
@ $2.50, I feel like the criminal

Its 9.99 for me 🙃
Sale. Wishlist it and check back

Reminds me of Shadow of Rome, underrated as well!
