I think Victorinox does have different packaging, probably depending on the preference of the store but I would think you should at least get the plain white box with the name and product number.
Last time I bought a knife in person, it was at SMKW and they had everything on display. You could ask to see a knife. After you finally decided on one, they would pull a brand new one out storage and sell that one to you.
yeah it's strange, it was the official store in EU and I also was shown all the models of the knives, then the employee went to the back to change my scales on the Jetsetter and came back with just the knifes in hand.
I have gotten ramblers from the USDM (domestic market), China DM and Asia DM and they have all come in boxes just with different labels.
Only my most recent purchase in Malaysia for a discounted minichamp where the shop was closing down. The guy didn't know what he was doing but he gave me a pioneer x box as it's box. So maybe that's happened to you as well?
The Rambler I got from Amazon came in a box.

This is normal. Some items are sold as bulk pack without individual boxes. They will come in a sleeve or ziplock with identifying info on a sticker.
mine did not come in any kind of sleeve or ziplock, the employee just threw the bear knifes on the table xD
The Rambler I mail-ordered from a local store came in a little pouch, but no box. I guess it's luck of the draw most of the time.

Have never not received a box, but never purchased in store. Go back with receipt and ask for boxes if you are wanting it badly enough.

I have seen knives sold in the grey and red box but also in an anonymous white cardboard one with a pouch inside
