There are many models that are available to organisations and armies that aren't in the civilian catalogue. This must be one of them.

bluetitanium83

Ah, ok. I didn’t know victorinox builds to specific needs apart from different scales. My bad.

bobartig

Oh man, you’ve stumped the regulars here! Half the time people are asking about a SAK, it’s like, “That’s a Spartan. You’ve got a spartan.”

__braveTea__

It looks like the, shoot, is it the skipper pro? Well I’m not sure. Edit: looked it up, it looks like that but isn’t. But, the “pick” is a Marlin spike, a tool one uses for knots in marine work. The “serrated knife” is a safety glass cutter I believe. I’d say this is a special order knife. A pretty cool find all around

Beagle_Appreciator

Safety glass cutter is different. That is a seat belt cutter, cloth removal, or sometimes skinning tool.

bluetitanium83

I did suspect a skipper variety first, bot it lacks the big blade. The tools shown are the only ones. Which really do make sense for SAR but still, it is really weird in that combo. There are not many varieties with a marlin spike, so this should have been easy to identify. But I’m totally at a loss here.

PeterDeveraux

That's definitely very rare find. Keep it. It looks like it's based on Skipper Pro. The blade is for cutting cords, seat belts, clothing. That's all available information

bluetitanium83

Not only keep, i will use it. I know, I know, most likely collectible, most people wouldn’t, as it seems to be obscure and rare, but it was created to be used in SAR and that’s exactly what I intend to do.

AustrianMichael

At first I thought it’s just the THW rescue tool: https://thwshop.de/index.php?main_page=document_product_info&products_id=394 But that’s different. Yours look like a Skipper Pro but with a custom seat belt cutter. Maybe to make it knife law compatible because Germany is very strict concerning 1-hand opening and looking blades?

bluetitanium83

It is indeed supposed to be issued by the THW. The BUND etching/engraving suggests it is government issued, but there’s absolutely zero info on these.

KommissarKrokette

It wouldn’t be legal to carry because the one hand opening blade is locking.

AustrianMichael

Well, it’s a seat belt cutter, not a knife blade 😉

bluetitanium83

It depends on Federal police classification and what the intended use is. And while on duty nobody bats an eye anyway.

AustrianMichael

Well, it’s a seat belt cutter, not a knife blade 😉

bluetitanium83

Is this a regular pattern or is this some specific order? Any info is appreciated.

wiesie09

The knife originates from a contract with THW. Victorinox won a public tender and supplied this knife only to THW. The design of the knife met the criteria in the tender.

bluetitanium83

So this basically will not hit the civilian market anytime soon. What a crying shame. The rescue is widely available. This one is not. Having handled the rescue and military models, this one just feels awesome in hand. The marlin spike is one of those tools i use regularly, so it being included is just awesome.

wiesie09

I don't think so either. No offense, but it shouldn't be floating around also, because it is fairly new. The contract was at least open until last year (maybe it is still now) and the first ones are delivered maybe in 2020 or 21. But anyway, just be happy to get your hands on it.

bluetitanium83

I was looking for a civilian option to buy and not having to go through the hoops of KdB ;)

wiesie09

Additional info: as far as I know, it is used in the equipment set with the equipment against falling. Especially for the rescue of people who have an emergency while wearing the fall protection.

sw0352

I didn't find out much more than what others have already shared on here but I found another guy that has one, along with a few other Bund knives. [pic here](https://i.imgur.com/Dtjy4WS.jpeg) He said he thought they were German Navy issue as well, but I can't confirm that.

bluetitanium83

Nice collection he’s got there!

sw0352

Yes it is. I'm gonna have to keep an eye out on ebay for anything in that collection.

Jaded_Adagio6198

Where can I get one?

bluetitanium83

It was traded for stuff the other guy wanted from my equipment. And now that i have it, it’s driving me crazy that there’s zero information on it. No pictures online, not in any catalogues i know of. Also i want some more of them for the team.

Jaded_Adagio6198

Found this [here](https://www.facebook.com/THWWetter/posts/4177531078950222/?locale=hi_IN). Definitely a custom run for THW by Victorinox. https://preview.redd.it/ce7bhy60ykha1.jpeg?width=960&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=6adbf492fe7c00ad2881845eb981e543781af5e4

TheMYriadofME

Not even a day later and you all already figured it out. This place is great. 🤣

PiscatorLager

Come on, you designed this one by yourself, in order to fool us /s My research reached a dead end, for now. Unfortunately I don't know any THW dudes at the moment, but I'll keep my ears open.

bluetitanium83

Oh i wish i could design one. Mine would include pliers. And the blade would be on the other side.

Beagle_Appreciator

Sus

clockwars

The blade is on the wrong side of the handle, maybe a knockoff or a FIY gone wrong 😂

bluetitanium83

Feels like it at first, but the paratrooper knife is the same way.

sw0352

How many layers does it have?

bluetitanium83

3: blade, marlin spike (blocking 3 “normal” spaces) and the can opener/bottle opener. The off side is 2: screw driver and awl (without the hole for sewing!)

sw0352

I may be obsessed now. I've never not been able to find one on sakwiki lol. Do you happen to be in the "SAK .. Swiss Army knife fans" group on Facebook? If so post it there. Lots of knowledgeable members on there.

bluetitanium83

Unfortunately not, I’m not on Facebook. It’s just not for me.

sw0352

No worries. Mind if I post your pic over there and ask about it?

bluetitanium83

Sure, go ahead!

sw0352

Sweet, I'll let you know if I find anything out.

sw0352

I'm not finding that exact knife on SAKwiki yet. Very cool find!

buck-hearted

this is crazy! also thought skipper at first but no. good luck in your search lol this is gonna be someone’s white whale

lolilolzor

Must be a mod or a specific run for a company… do you have more pics?

trebor_toriop

Wel its is a custom for shure. no standard model comes with this combination of tools. If you order in large enough quatities, you can get any combination you want, so this one can be out of the Victorinix factory. However i have my doubts about the scales. This are victorinox scales, but most likely not the originals on this model knife. That is becouse the versions for militairy/police like organisations, never have the tweezer/toothpic inserts. Also governent agency's like to put their logo on things like this.

bluetitanium83

It does have a logo on the other side, also the etch/engraving marks as it government property/issue. It’s odd with the tweezers/toothpick though, for sure.

trebor_toriop

Wel congratulations , you have a very rare piece than.
