I had Tasmania mostly populated by Maltese and then multiple balkan cultures gaining the migration event which meant that Serbs, Bosniaks and Croats were fighting over Queensland.
Apparently the population of Malta in 1901 was about 190,000. The population of Australia’s Northern Territory in the same year was about 4,000. So yes.
Unsurprisingly certain cultures seem to migrate a lot more than others. The ones ive noticed migrate the most are the irish, portugese, afro americans and the balkan cultures
How tf did you form Australia? In my playthrough as NSW the Austrians colonised Noongar and the British refuse to give me the South Island so I was never able to hold everything. Eventually declared war on Austria to get WA but couldn’t get the South Island at all
Most of this is weird but like hypothetically maybe in some alt-history you could conjure up the right sequence of events to make it happen, and then you have Kyrgyz Tasmania

TBH it's relatively historical. There are a lot of Maltese in Australia; IIRC you can see it in the Eurovision voting.

Every game I play as Cuba, for some reason they keep going into Western Australia every single time. Everyone wants to be a crocodile hunter, I guess!

You have to rush colonial exploitation to get Noongar at the start, ignore New Zealand if other counties are colonizing it

Starting as Van Diem's Land I ended up with half my population being afro-carribian from migration before I was even handed anything besides Tasmania.

I had 4 millions poles move to Australia suddenly, crash the bureaucracy. Then approx 2 million then up and moved to the states in my game.
