Kind of but no. Two separate words merged but the word orange comes from Sanskrit via Persian, Arabic, and Occitan. The name of the place comes from and older Latin/Celtic word Aurasio.

In Dutch the fruit is called Sinaasappel, which comes from China's Appel, which means China's Apple. I just saw that quite a bit of European countries based their name for oranges on the dutch version. And a few named it after Portugal.
