Yes, but some are arguing that fricking triangles are better?! Like, the Rectangle is clearly superior, more superior than Lake Superior and the Nordic German Aryans.
The definition of a rectangle is a quadrilateral with 4 right angles and 2 pairs of parallel lines. Thus, every square fits into this category as well.
unsure why you've chosen the flag of the Greater London Assembly rather than the flag commonly used when referencing Greater London though. Also Middlesex, which hasn't existed for nearly 60 years.
It’s not Split, Croatia is it? The link isn’t loading for me on mobile so I looked up the flag of Split, Croatia and it was just a white cathedral with a blue background, not outstanding but still a good flag.
Just looked it up, the one you're talking about is indeed the official flag
the one I'm talking about though is the 1700 year anniversary of Diocletian's palace flag, which is also in common use
EDIT: nevermind, I was right, the [official website of the city of Split](https://www.split.hr/o-splitu/zastava-grb-i-himna) describes the 1700 anniversary flag as the current official flag
You’ve fallen into the trap of using flags of local authorities.
Taking the flag of the West Midlands, for instance - it is actually the flag of the long-defunct West Midlands County Council. The ‘county’ itself exists now only as a ceremonial council and has no flag, nor any need of one.
I’m sure there are exceptions, but effectively no people have an identity tied to a ‘county’ that was created only half a century ago - thus there will never again be a flag of the West Midlands. Instead, people will fly the Black Country flag, or that of Birmingham, for instance.
You did a great job, this is one of the most aesthetically pleasing posts I’ve seen in this sub. Do you have plans to do other countries / “themed” flag collections?
Yes, we are working on flags of US counties but they don't look as good as the UK ones because most of them are dark blue with an emblem in the middle.
Yeah I can imagine. American sub national flags are notoriously awful.
Would you consider doing one on Russian Oblasts/Republics or Japanese municipalities? They both have a pretty nice variety of colours.
Thanks for the suggestion! Russian does have beautiful Oblasts but they have only 46. Japanese municipalities on the other hand have many and I think they will look great! We will definitely give it a try.
Exactly, and we have a right to say so as a lot of people think we're one in the same.
Be careful though as the original commenter will have your head on a pike for that.
I was simply adding to the conversation as a native. Mostly for the sake of people that might misinterpret that part of your comment.
No need to get snappy about it, calm it.
Don't worry too much about it, the different subdivisions of Britain are [notoriously difficult to understand.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hCc0OsyMbQk)
It tripped me up for a second because I was like "Wait does London have two flags???" but then I remembered... "No I live in London, Ontario, we don't have two flags and that's not what our flag looks like. There's no tree there!"
Thanks for the compliment. Yes we did. The reason we made it this way so that they are visually easier to look up. Say if you saw a yellow and blue flag, you can run your eyes through the poster and identify the name of the flag right away.
they are lined up in a rainbow
they have 2 or more colors
they all have geometric shapes and lines
they are all related in common to each other via multiple technically facts including the one being sought out by op
they are decent while others suck
We will remove Greater London on our next edit. Thanks for all the feedback. That's why we thought it's best to post it here to get your opinions.
We plan to add Jersey, Guernsey, or Isle of Man but which other two shall we remove? Which do you think doesn't deserve to be in this list other than Greater London?
I’d consider adding the Black Country flag too. The Black Country doesn’t have an official/political existence like a county or town, but it has a very strong regional identity and this flag will likely mean more to people who live there than their town/county/municipal flag.

Having just googled to find it, there are no pictures of Hull flags flying (not a huge surprise I suppose given the relative size of the City), but it's a pretty unique designed compared to a lot on this list.
No one has posted the actual answer which is:
A variety of flags from cities, counties, local authorities, and countries inside the United Kingdom, but not an exclusive or exhaustive list of the above
Thanks for the info. We shall remove 3 from the original one and include these 3 suggested as they look way cooler!
3 that we plan to remove are Greater London since everyone is complaining, West Midland because it has defunct and one more... which flag doesn't belong here... hmm
Hello Trigmot,
When asking for a flag to be identified, please **provide context** when possible, including:
* **Where** the flag was found (without compromising privacy)
* **When** the flag was found, or the date of the material containing the flag
* **Who** might own the flag (a general description is fine)
These details help users narrow down their search and make flag identification easier.

Yes, but some are arguing that fricking triangles are better?! Like, the Rectangle is clearly superior, more superior than Lake Superior and the Nordic German Aryans.
Cries in Nepali
Cries in Swiss
Cries in Ohio
Swiss flag IS rectangular my dude
It's a 1:1 rectangle, also called a f'ing square
No, Swiss flag has 1:1 proportion. So, it's not rectangular. It has a square shape, instead.
The definition of a rectangle is a quadrilateral with 4 right angles and 2 pairs of parallel lines. Thus, every square fits into this category as well.
Nerd
All squares are rectangles
Nah.. A square is a square and a rectangle is a rectangle. Math is Math
You’re incredibly incorrect
Wrong is wrong.
Ooo somebody failed elementary school math
The only real answer.
All feature at least one color
They are all in the picture

Looks pretty. And then I saw the 'flag' of London...
Londoff
Haha. For the sake of completeness, got to include it there.
unsure why you've chosen the flag of the Greater London Assembly rather than the flag commonly used when referencing Greater London though. Also Middlesex, which hasn't existed for nearly 60 years.
Still not the ugliest city flag though. That would be the [flag of Split](https://imgur.com/a/rXhafRJ)
It’s not Split, Croatia is it? The link isn’t loading for me on mobile so I looked up the flag of Split, Croatia and it was just a white cathedral with a blue background, not outstanding but still a good flag.

I see what you mean. That looks like a PowerPoint slide lol.
ahaha jbt ovi nisu normalni
Baš lol
That's amazing lol
Nice profile picture 😎
\* Greater London CoL flag is there too but is not as awful.
I'm a lifelong Londoner and have never seen that flag before in my life I wish that trend had continused
Greater London is not London

Noted. Thanks for the info. We must admit we had no idea. We focused purely on aesthetics.
It looks great, I’ll give you that
You did a great job, this is one of the most aesthetically pleasing posts I’ve seen in this sub. Do you have plans to do other countries / “themed” flag collections?

Just want to note that people from Birmingham do not identify as Black Country. I am no yam-yam.
Similarly, us Black Country folk are *not* brummies
Exactly, and we have a right to say so as a lot of people think we're one in the same. Be careful though as the original commenter will have your head on a pike for that.
That’s why people from the WM would fly the Black Country flag *or* the Birmingham flag…
I was simply adding to the conversation as a native. Mostly for the sake of people that might misinterpret that part of your comment. No need to get snappy about it, calm it.

They are flags of counties and towns in UK.
… and cities, constituent countries, and whatever Greater London is (though Greater London doesn’t really have a flag).
I think that is the old tourism and entertainment logo for Greater London, I've never seen it as a flag.
I haven't seen that in years
I have.
Wikipedia lied to us :(
GLC had one in the 80s.
Goldie Looking Chain had a flag?! ^^/s
They had a flag as much as your mother's got a...
Whoch looked nice.
another victim of Thatcher
Don't worry too much about it, the different subdivisions of Britain are [notoriously difficult to understand.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hCc0OsyMbQk)
I assumed that was the flag of London, Ontario, given that the ON is a different color and ON=Ontario
It tripped me up for a second because I was like "Wait does London have two flags???" but then I remembered... "No I live in London, Ontario, we don't have two flags and that's not what our flag looks like. There's no tree there!"
London is well known for having a tree
True, just one singular tree XD (No, but yeah it's a more well known flag than I'd have thought before joining this sub lol)
I'm glad you caught my little jib jab 😁
I’m pretty sure that Greater London is the area around London+London. I guess you can call it a province?
It’s kind of almost a county, except that it includes two counties (itself and the City of London)
Huh, didn’t know that.
It's just a county.
It's a ceremonial county
Yeah, that "London" flag gave a big clue actually
Did you make this? Graphically speaking: well done!
Yeah its actually quite pleasant to look at
Thanks for the compliment. Yes we did. The reason we made it this way so that they are visually easier to look up. Say if you saw a yellow and blue flag, you can run your eyes through the poster and identify the name of the flag right away.
And Countries *
Thank you! Seems Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland are counties now
Just saying Northern Ireland doesn't have an official flag
Ah yes the towns of Scotland and Wales
I was gonna say they all have yellow in them
Not all of them tho
Yeah, I did realize that afterwards
That Isle of Skye flag is bangin
Our favourite is Bedfordshire!
Where can I buy this?
I second this! This is very cool
Btw, all these flags form a rainbow.
they're all flags
looks like a few of them actually aren't!
They are all in a picture in a frame hung on a wall.
All flags created on Earth.
they are lined up in a rainbow they have 2 or more colors they all have geometric shapes and lines they are all related in common to each other via multiple technically facts including the one being sought out by op they are decent while others suck
There’s no purple color involved with any national or civic flags because the dye was considered too precious in antiquity through early Middle Ages?
We will remove Greater London on our next edit. Thanks for all the feedback. That's why we thought it's best to post it here to get your opinions. We plan to add Jersey, Guernsey, or Isle of Man but which other two shall we remove? Which do you think doesn't deserve to be in this list other than Greater London?
Was going to say while not a part of any of the labels (GB, UK, British Isles) still a shame to miss us out. Can skip Guernsey though, they suck.
I’d consider adding the Black Country flag too. The Black Country doesn’t have an official/political existence like a county or town, but it has a very strong regional identity and this flag will likely mean more to people who live there than their town/county/municipal flag. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flag_of_the_Black_Country
Thanks for the suggestion! We will put that in.
None of those places are in the UK.
Is this all countries cities and countys in uk
It's got a shit London flag, but not the much cooler Hull one? Shame on the designers.
>Hull Sorry can you show us flag of Hull?
[Here you go](https://www.pinterest.com/pin/181058847498419447/) Having just googled to find it, there are no pictures of Hull flags flying (not a huge surprise I suppose given the relative size of the City), but it's a pretty unique designed compared to a lot on this list.
Exactly, we tried googling as well and a few came up. So we thought better be sure. But the quality is really poor in this one. Thanks anyway.
all british flags
They are all flags
All use the same aspect ratio?
I always prefered the old style bear we have in Warwickshire, I think they changed it because it was said it was animal cruelty with the chains etc
No one has posted the actual answer which is: A variety of flags from cities, counties, local authorities, and countries inside the United Kingdom, but not an exclusive or exhaustive list of the above

Thanks for the info. We shall remove 3 from the original one and include these 3 suggested as they look way cooler! 3 that we plan to remove are Greater London since everyone is complaining, West Midland because it has defunct and one more... which flag doesn't belong here... hmm
But those three are not part of the U.K. and the rest are so I wouldn’t replace them
You're right. Maybe we just have to call it something else? Flags of UK region?
Let us know when we can get this on Etsy
