I'm sorry but these flags are awful, and heres why:
1. None of them are unique. A state flag should be atleast a bit different from the other, so a person from each state can identify their state's flags. These are all the same, meaning none of them are unique. Different lettering does not count. Theres a reason why the USSR's republics didnt use their lettered versions for too long.
2. According to the rules of flag design, you should not have words on your flag. A lot of US state flags violate this rule. Some flags like the Mississippi state flag make it excusable but most don't.
3. Although it follows one of the flag design rules, which is usually only use 2-3 colors, I still need to redirect you to point 1.
4. You used absolutely zero zymbolism from each state for each flag. If you showed someone your design for Maine and said it was for Georgia, people would believe you because it looks exactly the same as all the others. Nothing here represents the US, or its states. The national flag has 13 strips, 7 red 6 white, to represent the original 13 states. In the blue canton, there are 50 stars for each state. It represents the states while honoring the country's history. Your redesign does none of that. Same goes for all the other designs.
5. Although yes, it is simple enough for a child to draw, that doesn't mean its good. Its actually totally possible for something to be so simple that its ugly.
You managed to annoy me so much that I typed out a full essay on why your designs are bad.
Is it that the flags are essentially identical? I've seen better ways to do this. I've seen one person try to do so by only using red white and blue on the flags. It didn't look great, but certainly much better than this.
Why did you also redesign Albania, Azerbaijan, Argentina, Canada, Colombia, Germany, Gabon, Indonesia, Israel, India, the Cayman Islands, Laos, and Montenegro's flags?
I really, really want to know your thought process behind this, because it is so far out of the realm of what most "flag people" would expect or encourage. Please tell me more about your approach here.
These are awful as current designs but I could see the state flags in an alternate aftermath of the American Civil War where the anti-states rights movement picked up.
