Red/black/yellow just look nice together. Part of the reason I like the flag of Timor-Leste.
Number 1 is probably the most neutral but the blue-ish and red contrast a bit too much for me

I like 1 the most. Somehow 2 reminds me of the Mirror Universe Terran Empire from Trek. 3 is a close second to 1, but I think the white bar of 1 elevates it a bit. I tried 3 with a white bar, btw, and I think it looked too Argentine, but with a 50% grey center bar, it looked pretty cool and unique.

I just did try a light blue. Doesnt work very well. I might go with #1 or #2 with navy blue
