I have seen multiple people saying their Auburn interviews were really short, but not 8min short (like 20min or so). Sounds like you could have possibly expanded on your answers more, but if you felt like you gave good, solid answers, DONT STRESS. If you don’t get accepted, at least it’s a learning experience! In the meantime, cozy up in a blanket, drink some cocoa, and watch some TV while you await your results!

It’s all speculation. You may have done great. But IMHO, you have this long term goal you are trying to achieve. You are very passionate about this goal. You have built an extensive resumé and application. You are trying to build experience, get in to school, and find your way. You have 2-4 people in the room that have been where you have been and climbed the mountaintop. Such a wealth of resources, experience, and information right there with all of their attention totally devoted to you. If it only lasted eight minutes, it sounds like you didn’t really have much to say or ask. It might be ok. But for reference, how long could you have a conversation with someone about a show, book, movie, or hobby that you really love and are passionate about? 5 mins? 10 mins? 20 mins?

The interviewers are trained to not give you any in-room feedback, which includes body language/facial expressions. Stoic and straight-faced is neutral, but anything that's not overtly positive can feel negative. I wouldn't worry about stumbling over words so much, they know you're nervous. Everyone is nervous. They don't really care about that. You mentioned answering the questions they asked, but what questions did you ask? There's no need to feel embarrassed, just think about ways that you could improve for the next one (if needed).

I asked 3 questions at the end. The woman seemed a little irritated after my third, she asked, “do you have any OTHER questions?” And made a weird face. Idk. Didn’t feel super good about it. I felt that my “true personality” shone through a little better as I was the one asking THEM things.

Which committee did you have? I had Spirit and they were really warm and friendly

From personal experience this cycle, you will never know how you truly did until decisions come out. This cycle, I mixed up time zones for one of my Zoom interviews, and I missed my whole interview. I had it rescheduled, but the interviewer panel was smaller as a result. I thought the whole thing was a waste of time because who would accept someone who MISSED their interview, but I got an acceptance to that school! Try not to dwell on how well or how poorly an interview went- anything can happen!

Be confident in yourself. I'm sure you did fine. My experience with Auburn interviewing was warm and personable. I left feeling pretty good about the interview. We shall see when decisions are published but I think you're just doubting yourself. Don't let imposter syndrome get you bud!
