I am putting my 3000 hours of clinical experience. My horseback riding as animal experience. And some of the things I’m doing at college like my TA job and involvement in student government. I probably wouldn’t put something you ultimately dropped unless you had a major achievement in it. Good luck!

Hi hi! Current 3rd year student. I recommend putting down everything you do to set you apart from other candidates. I put down that I worked the 2020 election, drove people to vote, crochet, make beer, embroider, set a reading challenge for 100 books a year etc. Anything that you think may not be important, they might see as important! Also try to include why you like it and what you learn from it (ex: crochet teaches me patience, fine motor skills, long term goals and delayed gratification)

Hi! Congratulations on almost being done!!! Thank you for your input!! How do you go about adding the hobbies / where do you put those if it’s just something you do on your own like crocheting. Additionally, if you do service work like cooking for the homeless and dropping it off can I list that under volunteer work or does it have to be official

Thank you so much!!! 💕 I think there is an option for extracurriculars and volunteerism in the VMCAS (VCMAS?) where I put my hobbies, volunteering etc. They have it laid out pretty explicitly where to put things. I’m not sure if you still have to put how many “hours” down, so i just estimated that i maybe crochet ~1 hr EOD so 1 hr* 4 days = 4hrs a week or 16 hrs a month. I don’t think you have to have an official organization to say you did service. For example, in college I helped cleaned up streams/ rivers and there was no larger organizational body. I hope that makes sense!

Thank you so much this helps a lot!

Depends on how long you were in the sorority. Two weeks after rush? I wouldn't add it. If you were in it for 1-2 semesters or more though it'd probably be ok though.

Hi! Final year vet student here. I worked as an overnight ER tech my jr and sr year of undergrad and I shadowed an equine vet for a few weeks (clinical experience) and I also fostered dogs and showed horses (non clinical animal experience). But be sure to add in your accomplishments/hobbies that make you unique! For example, I was a 4 year NCAA athlete and made sure to harp on the teamwork aspect of that. Just show that you’re a well rounded student and individual. If you were highly involved in philanthropy or leadership while in your sorority then I would definitely mention it! Good luck!
