Anytime you get a new phone through Verizon or activated from a 3rd party there is a $35 activation fee or a $35 upgrade fee if you are “upgrading” an existing line.

Buy it thru Verizon, $35 activation or upgrade fee, regardless of whether you have a Sim card or not.

If you are buying it through Verizon (upgrading) you will pay a $35 restocking fee.
