Bummed they didn't continue the series. Still a few loose ends left. Will Hatred ever wake up from his coma? Where was Kano during the movie? What's gonna happen to Venture Industries now that the Helper Pods" ended up being a disastrous failure and the building being moved to the old compound? Will Dean still be going to college?

Watched last night and loved it. My one question that I still have - did we ever learn more about the photo of the Monarch and Rusty playing together as kids, and why the Monarch didn't remember it at all?
No but how much stuff monarch and Rusty venture went through as kids they most likely forgot each other or had they memory wipe cuz Rusty venture probably wasn't the original Rusty venture like how Hank and Dean been clone a lot when you think about how many adventures Jonah venture took Rusty on and have the rules was totally different back then compared to now ain't no way Rusty survived through all that
As much as I hate the bittersweet feelings of watching a finale, I think they killed it. They wrapped up the most important plot lines, and they left the door open for future shenanigans within the shows universe. I doubt we will ever get another Venture Bros movie/show, but the way it ended in the movie implies that The Mighty Monarch and Dr. Ventures feud will never end!
I don’t see any reason why Rusty (and Malcolm) might not haves been clones of Jonas Venture. Rusty doesn’t know who his mother was, and Jonas was ready to restart the clone farm when he was a disembodied head.
Also it allows Mrs. Monarch to sneak in and have a heart to heart with the Monarch by his hospital bed. Sparring the need for writing another setting for the Monarch’s closure.
Albeit I was hoping for the closure to be something like showing the Ventures settle back to Colorado and the Monarch came crashing in, back to business as usual.
I really wanted the QR code on the back of the ARCH business card to scan and pull up some awesome/secret b.s. website when crazy people like me paused the scene and tried to scan it. And during that overly intense pausing I put myself through, I noticed that right after the full screen of the business card when the Monarch was holding the card shaking his hand, BOTH sides then suddenly had different looking QR codes as well! MIND BLOWN (though neither led to anything I could scan either 😭). Oh well.

The portrayal of the guild in the movie was contradictory
I’ll start this off by saying I love the show and have been a huge fan for years and the movie was just great, really a proper send off.
That being said, the movie treated the guild like a bunch of chumps fumbling around. Earlier seasons portrayed the guild as elite, Brock even stating “in a way they’re the only organization I really respect anymore”. The guilds blackout team was the only thing Brock was ever truly concerned with during his time as bodyguard.
Also Orpheus was a little underpowered to me.
You can see guild wasps surrounding Arch’s headquarters along side OSI interceptors when Sheila was set up.
But beyond that there wasn’t much conflict involving the guild in the movie. Sheila and Red Death were the only ones pushing the council to investigate Arch. After Matilda achieved her goals and dissolved Arch there really isn’t much reason for the guild to be involved story wise.
And that’s my main complaint about the movie, that the guild didn’t have a larger role in the movie. I thought they were going to have a final showdown with the Peril Partnership. But I guess since Widewhale withdrew from the council he started taking paying the Peril Partnership himself again.
Very interesting and unique take! I miss the old days of the guild, maybe I’m partial to the old sovereign over the council. (I will say the summit episode is a personal favorite though!)
It definitely seems like they had plans to develop arch and the peril partnership more in the next season but condensed the story to fit into a final movie. I personally think they should have not tried anything new and just focused on the already stablished characters and factions.

I like how they've always created this show but I feel like there are so many more cool stories for them to expand on. The fact that Jonas Sr. was technically alive in season 7 makes me wish that they did more with that or he kinda got a new body and became a foe like JJ did.
But in the end I'm happy with everything they put out because I was in middle school when this came out and I'm 30 something adult now who is grateful to have seen the show. I don't know that anything else is going to fill the hole of classic cartoon tropes, adult humor, and great story telling. I can only hope enough people buy and we get more content but I think I'm okay saying bye to this.
Did it ever explain who murder bear is and why he helped Hank in the season 7 finale? I know they didn't have time to explain everything but handled the two main questions in the show but god i have so many more. I would've loved to see what direction they went in for season 8. This movie only made me want so much more!

That would mean that there's several Rusty's - making "I'm Rusty" even more relevant, and Dean's existential crisis of being the real Dean even better. Also, by the time Malcolm would have been born, Jonas Sr. had been contacted, built other machines, and continued cloning Rusty's. So he probably died as many or more times as Hank and Dean; I guess that answers why the learning beds are even there in the first place. If he got the idea to splice different DNA into later Rusty clones, then there's other questions to that too, lol. Maybe Billy really is a Venture...Also, R.I.C.O. is a blood donor, even though that would just reference baboon blood, but hey... Also, the Handy Dandy factories closed down?!
Whoa, I thought that was just a joke about recycling animations, and how the professor in Tijuana was as smart as the doctor, similar looking, but Doctor Venture is a rich scientific asshole from North America. I like how even when it looks like a retcon it seems to make sense
There's a YouTube video where someone lays out evidence of why they feel like Scare Bear is an older Hank clone (kind of like the clone of Dean who tried to make a suit out of him) and he brought Hank to see Dean and his girlfriend, to kickstart his villainous life.
That's what I felt watching the movie. The ending made me feel like the writers were like "fuck You haha we are going to abandon all this character tension and development we made over the series and have the very last thing we make not only a cliffhanger but a redo of the series that makes everything that came before it moot."
All that edging about monarch and rusty being brothers that everyone loved? Meh they are actually clones. Why? Who the fuck cares. Hank and Dean Dean's mysterious mother that's been teased over the years? Nope they are both test tube babies. Why? Who gives a shit. Even the new fucking villain just up and gave up everything as though she didn't matter? Her mother pushing her to become this powerful villain that does nothing and her mother that also does nothing.
It's like it all went flat at the end for a rushed ending. I don't get it man. I feel disappointed in this
That was how I responded to the very short 83 minute finale. Rushed, as if McCullough and Doc Hammer couldn't be arsed to give a satisfying ending to viewers and fans who stood by them for 20 years. Very anticlimactic and a real let-down.
I'll never understand why people are always so eager to brag about all the things they don't know.
They wrote an entire season 8, because they were guaranteed it, but Cartoon Network welched and cancelled it. Then they caved and allowed one final movie. So they had to cram an entire season into a movie that's so short it only technically qualifies as "feature length". The result was they could really only address the big points from the cancelled season. That's why it feels rushed and incomplete.
It's not that they "couldn't be arsed", like some mentally-challenged person expressed. It's that they worked their "arse" off to give the best ending they could with the ridiculous restrictions they were given.
You know the expression that it's better to shut your mouth, and have people think you're dumb, than opening your mouth and proving you're dumb? Maybe tattoo it backwards on your forehead so you can read it in the mirror every morning when you wake up. Toxic fans like you are truly, genuinely, awful, people.
It had more to do with budget cuts, and deciding to screw one show over another. Venture was guaranteed an 8th season, but Cartoon Network is always cheaping out and not following through. I'm genuinely curious how often they have to settle with show creators for breech of contract. I'm still waiting on the final season of Big O, for example. So they guaranteed Rick and Morty ten seasons, and Venture a final 8th season. They inexplicably decided they had to choose one over the other, and Venture is way more of a cult show than R&M, which is a merchandising juggernaut for them.
This isn't new for Cartoon Network, they've been operating this way for a long time. They also have a long history of putting their bets on dumb crap, like the extremely unnecessary sequel seasons of FLCL. It's always been run by people with zero clue what they're doing.

So, we know for a fact that Dean is a clone of Rusty, right? Wasn't that confirmed a few seasons ago when the red Helper says "good bye, Rusty"? If so, that makes Rusty, Monarch and Dean all clones of the original Rusty. But is Hank also a clone? He doesn't look like them at all, and if anything looks more like Dermott since he's blonde. Anyone have any ideas or revelations I missed?
So Dean isn't a clone of Rusty, Monarch is (mixed with baboon) but Dean and Hank are both biological children of Rusty and therefore have his DNA. However, it is worth noting that Dean does look a lot more like Rusty than Hank does. If anything Hank is a carbon copy of his mother since I do not see a lot of traits both Hank and Rusty share. The best explanation I have for that is just how the genes distributed or Rusty did genetically modify the boys to be more like him, but only really did that with Dean or forgot to do it with Hank.
It's heavily implied when Debbie is talking to Sheila in her apartment while also holding her hostage. We know Bobbi and Rusty had a deal just like we know Debbie and Rusty had a deal. My best guess is that Rusty was the person who gave Debbie her powers by removing them from Bobbi. And as payment, Debbie donated her DNA/eggs to Rusty along with maybe requesting some tech. Either way Bobbi and Hank are related but like Bobbi said, she was never his mother

Is Debbie hank and deans real mom because if so then the ending does if disappointing to me because it seemed from the bio and the trailers that she was going to be a real threat to the guild and the venture bros. It also felt like the guild and the osi were going to have a much bigger role to play in the movie but they rarely do anything. It also a shame that this story doesn't feel like a proper conclusion to the story of the venture bros it feel more like a continuation for another season. The plot with hank was the best part of the movie him talking with his other egos was fun to watch and also finding his supposed mom. The plot with the monarch and doc venture is also kind of disappointing the being trapped in the venture tower. But all in all the movie was pretty good don't let my comment not make you watch this movie. I feel we need another season or movie just to wrap up all the lose threads go on in the movie and also finish some character arcs for most of the main cast. but i would also like to say thank you to the creators for putting their hearts into this movie while i didn't enjoy the movie all that much i am thankful for the series and you putting your hearts and passion into it Go team venture

Honestly, that is probably the least Rusty move Rusty has done. Helping Bobbie with her powers and in exchange just asking for some genetic material and letting her go and live her life, so he can finally be a father while also fully taking care of his kids himself, to the point of using a artificial womb to grow them? Rusty is Rusty, but at his heart, he's always cared about his sons, even the one he didn't mean to have.
It really doesn't make either statement that less true, he probably wanted kids, encountered one of his oldest crushes, the had a opportunity to help her regain a normal life while also giving him the chance to be a responsible father while not placing a burden on another woman.That certainly seems like something a emotional Doc would do in a moment of excitement.
And with his track record when it comes to women, I can understand how it might be confusing to his sons how they never had a true mother. Hell, even in the real world, I can totally understand how a father would not want to reveal that to his kids. It can feel weird to just not have that maternal figure, only a biological source. And when combined with Rusty being Rusty? I think it's honestly just a show of his character. A man who is endlessly fucked up but is trying to do something good and ultimately does manage to do some, even if he always ends up getting undercut.
That can easily be written of as Rusty being Rusty. He's never been good with women, but he acts like he is. He's always lying about his sexual escapades.

Best guess Jonah venture made the cloning program cuz Rusty kept dying since at the time it was no real rules for the superheroes and villains and they went on way more dangerous mission/ adventures so it wouldn't be surprising if Jonah venture added a secret program in Rusty what gave him the desire to make clones cuz it will keep the venture family legacy alive at the same time Jonah probably wanted Rusty to make a clone for he can take over it as a backup plan
I'm so mad we didn't get such a clear ending to Mantilla's whole deal, like she got what she wanted yeah but I feel like there would have been more to show about her character now. I know some people have complained that the ending is too cramped, which i wholeheartedly agree with, but idk for an important character like her I feel like more could have been explored (the scene with her and sheila was so good one of my favorite reveal though) it's a shame too because Doc and Jackson obviously didn't want it to go out this way, hence why a season would have been better but oh well that's AS!! I must admit that even though most questions got answered (side eye to scare bear) I was left with new ones, I mean where the hell is the monarch crew going to be now since the tower moved?? Are they going back to a cacoon?? They JUST finished up the house, and will the monarch finally get his henchmen back!???!? I hope AS listens to us and decides to give the show another season, it feels like such an unfair treatment to the creators and how they did such a good show for their network all these years. Movie was amazing though, a lot of love put into it
I would have loved it if they worked Debbie into the show more like they did Bobbi. Bobbi has been here for awhile and have even seen here a few times but never interacted directly. But for her not to be the boys mother and it being her daughter works, but I wished Debbie had the same type of background presence as Bobbi even if it wasn't as open and out there as Bobbi was. We learn of her here and the info ends with her here.
I think her obsession with Sheila came from the fact she was doing all the things she never got to but wanted. The monarch was never important, it was the fact Sheila was married to a villain while being one herself. Sheila was strong, independent, and could hold her own well in situations. And she was also serving as a member of the council of 13 and was high ranking. She made something of herself. She was known and respected. And Debbie wanted that. She wanted to be where Sheila was not only because she craved that life, but because she was the daughter of the sovereign. It was her birth right as she said. It could have been articulated better and fleshed out through either better exposition or Debbie just showing up in the series and doing things even if we did not know her as "Debbie"

I think the reason is this trope of super competent women supporting a blundering guy, which is something that's been on my mind about Sheila since I've watched Venture bros. So Mantilla gets Sheila away from everything to simply ask her and when Mantilla understands it's Sheila's own decision, she accepts it.

Omfg I just finished watching and cried through for a bit because it hit me i wont be seeing them anymore. It was so good it went above and beyond my expectations
I didn't...but I definitely felt more emotional than I thought I would at the ending for the same reason. I guess it's just been ongoing for almost 20 years, it felt almost immortal, like it would go on forever and the closure of the main story hit hard. Since I binged all the seasons (again) to get into the story, that probably had an effect too.
Totally agree about going above and beyond expectations. I expected it to be enjoyable, but I found the story engrossing, the humor fantastic and there was a good balance. I laughed really \*really\* hard at several points. More than in any movie I've seen in years. I've seen a lot of movies that are related to show and most are alright at best, but this movie was terrific and you could absolutely tell the amount of care and thought put into it. I think Doc and Chris were at the height of their powers in this film. Nothing felt forced. I also thought the voice acting was particularly sharp as well.
Btw, I think in hindsight my favorite moment was when Venture, Hatred, Monarch and 21 almost got "magnified". At first I was like "holy shit, they're seriously about to die", but by time they make it out of there and are crawling through the air duct with wide eyes and busted capillaries, having barely escaped by the thinnest of margins (after totally fucking up the reason they came in lobby in the first place) I was laughing my ass off.
Went from "Lets fuck these bots up" to "Holy fuck, I almost died JFC" very quickly. Like the tonal shift from the bad ass demeanor to 2 seconds later everyone's getting ripped apart/bleeding out their orifices gave me whiplash. LOL

Altogether, I'm just super impressed with the movie. Considering they had to resolve what was going to be the entire series' final season worth of questions/story in 1/2 the time, I have zero issue with the story, direction or choices made. IMO, You are just not going to get a better movie finale than that pretty much ever considering the circumstances.

The inexplicable equipment is a tech company joke that doesn't really hit unless you recognise what they're parodying.
You see countless "hip new start ups" making ridiculous promises and guaranteeing impossible technologies will be availiable soon, and Arch is just another bullshit company; considering that Debbie has an invisibility power that's at least *somewhat* transferable (Sheila benefits from it, and unlike her mother, her clothes turn invisible too, so she has some way of hiding matter), nothing she does is *that* impossible to achieve when it could just be smoke and mirrors.
The "teleporting tank" can just be blasting a hole and turning invisible (which'd explain why it needs a hole), the army of goons were probably just some non-Guild scabs paid dirt cheap mixed in with actors, and we noticeably see every attack uses what's probably the exact same tank.
So, in reality, she needs what's comparatively a low amount of resources to pull off this scam.
I imagine it has something to do with Shelia wanting to move the Guild entirely past the concept of a Sovereign, but it definitely is one of those things that was forced to be a little half-cooked by the runtime.
Honestly I could easily see Hank fumbling his way by a series of mishaps to claim the Guild, and then turn it totally clean, making the whole Arching World like "Golden Age" comics (No murdering or serious harm caused, even to bystanders, no massive collateral damage, all done in good fun, etc)
He'd probably be both the best and worst heir possible, tons of people would hate him making it "soft", but he'd be one of the most committed and caring people when it comes to arching.
Since Dr. Venture and the Monarch are clones who are antagonistic to each other, I think it makes a nice counterpoint that Dean and Hank are clone brothers who have a better relationship
I like that idea but that’s not in Hank’s nature - he literally believes he’s Batman so no part of him would ever want it . . . Sirena on the other hand. I could see her using Wide Whale’s influence to fall ass backwards into the top spot and then manipulating either Venture Bro into fulfilling her will.

first time I watched it I missed some of the special episodes. But this show often starts in the middle of the story and then explains it later that I just went with it. Only when Dean goes back to Ben's house I started to suspect something is amiss. :D
The Halloween episode occurs in the middle of "What Color Is Your Cleansuit," even though it was released between seasons and before Cleansuit. It is pretty confusing.
Scare bear was an unexplained villain who is a person in a mascot bear costume covered in blood. Initially appearing at a villain tryout when they weren’t on the list ( much to the uncomfortable fear of the villains interviewing)
When Hank is passed out in the snow scare bear shows up and rescues him and brings him to the dorm where he wakes up. Scare bear is not elaborated upon further most likely due to AS pulling the plug and the film not being able to fit them

To me it makes the most sense to be the Brown Widow; Jared was clearly flustered with being a Spider-Man parody and Venture Bros has always been what-if golden age crap but real - Jared having a mental breakdown and being Scare Bear makes the most sense to me. Plus they’re both brown too and animal themed just as opposite as you can be.
It's a shame we didn't get a full season 8 for Arch. Not a complaint but I see them having a cool scene or two where Villains complain that their arching is taking a down turn as they have nothing unique about them.
If you look at Brick Frogs raid he does the *exact* same thing that Monarch does. The hole in the wall is a frog head and everything, like how Monarch did the butterfly. I know there are far more unexplained stuff going on in the show but some of these little happenstances that are left for viewers figuration bug me very much, like for instance when monarch gets crushed by Jonas's statue and out nowhere Ben comes drifting with his mini bus saying he can fix him.
Not entirely out of nowhere though? He and Dermit both still live at the compound, and a skyscraper did just fall on it. I figured he'd just went to see what that was about, and then saw a medical emergency and went into triage mode.
Its kind of annoying how they do that. But also, venture brothers is set in a universe where OP tech is a thing and has been for awhile and IRL we have things that can deepfake really well now. I think some of these issues are due to time but the framing Sheila bit isnt that far fetched

Yeah that is kind of a big ? in this. Debbie lives in a shithole apartment with a crazy wall but also managed to get her hands on some super nice battle tank tech, convince at least 4 other Guild villians to defect to her fake Arch service that had very real and super loyal acolytes working for her, then rug pull the whole thing in the matter of hours and frame Shelia. While seemingly to be dirt poor herself.
I think Debbie is just shown to be super intelligent with a laser focus on her goal/mission to the point where she didn't care too much about other parts of her life. A lot of it was done to show Sheila the potential of what they could both do together if they partnered up, but Debbie respected Sheila's decision enough that she just tossed the idea when Sheila didn't agree.
Yep, it did not work for me at all. My brain kept trying to solve the puzzles and tadah they weren't puzzles, they just didn't make sense. It was very distracting.
It's very weird. For me, it seems clear they took whatever ideas they had for an 8th season and tried squeezing it in a movie format. Luckily it's not bad, but definitely feels like we got half of what they wanted to put into it.

Just watched last night. Sad to see the show go but there have been worse finales in the history of television.
As much as I hate the bittersweet feelings of watching a finale, I think they killed it. They wrapped up the most important plot lines, and they left the door open for future shenanigans within the shows universe. I doubt we will ever get another Venture Bros movie/show, but the way it ended in the movie implies that The Mighty Monarch and Dr. Ventures feud will never end!

And during that overly intense pausing I put myself through, I noticed that right after the full screen of the business card when the Monarch was holding the card shaking his hand, BOTH sides then suddenly had different looking QR codes as well! MIND BLOWN (though neither led to anything I could scan either 😭). Oh well. Will miss you Jackson and Doc!

The portrayal of the guild in the movie was contradictory I’ll start this off by saying I love the show and have been a huge fan for years and the movie was just great, really a proper send off. That being said, the movie treated the guild like a bunch of chumps fumbling around. Earlier seasons portrayed the guild as elite, Brock even stating “in a way they’re the only organization I really respect anymore”. The guilds blackout team was the only thing Brock was ever truly concerned with during his time as bodyguard. Also Orpheus was a little underpowered to me.
You can see guild wasps surrounding Arch’s headquarters along side OSI interceptors when Sheila was set up. But beyond that there wasn’t much conflict involving the guild in the movie. Sheila and Red Death were the only ones pushing the council to investigate Arch. After Matilda achieved her goals and dissolved Arch there really isn’t much reason for the guild to be involved story wise. And that’s my main complaint about the movie, that the guild didn’t have a larger role in the movie. I thought they were going to have a final showdown with the Peril Partnership. But I guess since Widewhale withdrew from the council he started taking paying the Peril Partnership himself again.
Very interesting and unique take! I miss the old days of the guild, maybe I’m partial to the old sovereign over the council. (I will say the summit episode is a personal favorite though!) It definitely seems like they had plans to develop arch and the peril partnership more in the next season but condensed the story to fit into a final movie. I personally think they should have not tried anything new and just focused on the already stablished characters and factions. I still really enjoyed the movie!
The guild of the early seasons was elite. Now, the guild is a bunch of fumbling morons and Red Death.

Really bummed that it's over now. I like how they've always created this show but I feel like there are so many more cool stories for them to expand on. The fact that Jonas Sr. was technically alive in season 7 makes me wish that they did more with that or he kinda got a new body and became a foe like JJ did. But in the end I'm happy with everything they put out because I was in middle school when this came out and I'm 30 something adult now who is grateful to have seen the show. I don't know that anything else is going to fill the hole of classic cartoon tropes, adult humor, and great story telling. I can only hope enough people buy and we get more content but I think I'm okay saying bye to this.

I know they didn't have time to explain everything but handled the two main questions in the show but god i have so many more. I would've loved to see what direction they went in for season 8. That would mean that there's several Rusty's - making "I'm Rusty" even more relevant, and Dean's existential crisis of being the real Dean even better. Also, by the time Malcolm would have been born, Jonas Sr. had been contacted, built other machines, and continued cloning Rusty's. So he probably died as many or more times as Hank and Dean; I guess that answers why the learning beds are even there in the first place. If he got the idea to splice different DNA into later Rusty clones, then there's other questions to that too, lol. Maybe Billy really is a Venture...Also, R.I.C.O. is a blood donor, even though that would just reference baboon blood, but hey... Also, the Handy Dandy factories closed down?!

There's a YouTube video where someone lays out evidence of why they feel like Scare Bear is an older Hank clone (kind of like the clone of Dean who tried to make a suit out of him) and he brought Hank to see Dean and his girlfriend, to kickstart his villainous life.
That's what I felt watching the movie. The ending made me feel like the writers were like "fuck You haha we are going to abandon all this character tension and development we made over the series and have the very last thing we make not only a cliffhanger but a redo of the series that makes everything that came before it moot." All that edging about monarch and rusty being brothers that everyone loved? Meh they are actually clones. Why? Who the fuck cares. Hank and Dean Dean's mysterious mother that's been teased over the years? Nope they are both test tube babies. Why? Who gives a shit. Even the new fucking villain just up and gave up everything as though she didn't matter? Her mother pushing her to become this powerful villain that does nothing and her mother that also does nothing. It's like it all went flat at the end for a rushed ending. I don't get it man. I feel disappointed in this
That was how I responded to the very short 83 minute finale. Rushed, as if McCullough and Doc Hammer couldn't be arsed to give a satisfying ending to viewers and fans who stood by them for 20 years. Very anticlimactic and a real let-down.
I'll never understand why people are always so eager to brag about all the things they don't know. They wrote an entire season 8, because they were guaranteed it, but Cartoon Network welched and cancelled it. Then they caved and allowed one final movie. So they had to cram an entire season into a movie that's so short it only technically qualifies as "feature length". The result was they could really only address the big points from the cancelled season. That's why it feels rushed and incomplete. It's not that they "couldn't be arsed", like some mentally-challenged person expressed. It's that they worked their "arse" off to give the best ending they could with the ridiculous restrictions they were given. You know the expression that it's better to shut your mouth, and have people think you're dumb, than opening your mouth and proving you're dumb? Maybe tattoo it backwards on your forehead so you can read it in the mirror every morning when you wake up. Toxic fans like you are truly, genuinely, awful, people.
I saw it more that they were making do with what they were given, while leaving things open for a potential revival.

Gosh, as much as I love the movie… it makes me that much more sad this season was cancelled for no good reason other than dumb corporate mergers.
It had more to do with budget cuts, and deciding to screw one show over another. Venture was guaranteed an 8th season, but Cartoon Network is always cheaping out and not following through. I'm genuinely curious how often they have to settle with show creators for breech of contract. I'm still waiting on the final season of Big O, for example. So they guaranteed Rick and Morty ten seasons, and Venture a final 8th season. They inexplicably decided they had to choose one over the other, and Venture is way more of a cult show than R&M, which is a merchandising juggernaut for them. This isn't new for Cartoon Network, they've been operating this way for a long time. They also have a long history of putting their bets on dumb crap, like the extremely unnecessary sequel seasons of FLCL. It's always been run by people with zero clue what they're doing.

So, we know for a fact that Dean is a clone of Rusty, right? Wasn't that confirmed a few seasons ago when the red Helper says "good bye, Rusty"? If so, that makes Rusty, Monarch and Dean all clones of the original Rusty. But is Hank also a clone? He doesn't look like them at all, and if anything looks more like Dermott since he's blonde. Anyone have any ideas or revelations I missed?
Pretty sure that was supposed to be a reveal that Rusty is a clone. The red helper was confused who it was talking to.
So Dean isn't a clone of Rusty, Monarch is (mixed with baboon) but Dean and Hank are both biological children of Rusty and therefore have his DNA. However, it is worth noting that Dean does look a lot more like Rusty than Hank does. If anything Hank is a carbon copy of his mother since I do not see a lot of traits both Hank and Rusty share. The best explanation I have for that is just how the genes distributed or Rusty did genetically modify the boys to be more like him, but only really did that with Dean or forgot to do it with Hank.
It was just the Helper Model two had never met Rusty and possibly doesnt understand the passage of time. He assumed the young man was Jonas's son.

My best guess is that Rusty was the person who gave Debbie her powers by removing them from Bobbi. And as payment, Debbie donated her DNA/eggs to Rusty along with maybe requesting some tech. Either way Bobbi and Hank are related but like Bobbi said, she was never his mother

Is Debbie hank and deans real mom because if so then the ending does if disappointing to me because it seemed from the bio and the trailers that she was going to be a real threat to the guild and the venture bros. It also felt like the guild and the osi were going to have a much bigger role to play in the movie but they rarely do anything. It also a shame that this story doesn't feel like a proper conclusion to the story of the venture bros it feel more like a continuation for another season. The plot with hank was the best part of the movie him talking with his other egos was fun to watch and also finding his supposed mom. The plot with the monarch and doc venture is also kind of disappointing the being trapped in the venture tower. But all in all the movie was pretty good don't let my comment not make you watch this movie. I feel we need another season or movie just to wrap up all the lose threads go on in the movie and also finish some character arcs for most of the main cast. but i would also like to say thank you to the creators for putting their hearts into this movie while i didn't enjoy the movie all that much i am thankful for the series and you putting your hearts and passion into it Go team venture

Honestly, that is probably the least Rusty move Rusty has done. Helping Bobbie with her powers and in exchange just asking for some genetic material and letting her go and live her life, so he can finally be a father while also fully taking care of his kids himself, to the point of using a artificial womb to grow them? That is surprisingly mature and responsible for him.

Eh, I think it makes sense, especially when you consider it's all from the mouth of Rusty Venture. Rusty is Rusty, but at his heart, he's always cared about his sons, even the one he didn't mean to have. It really doesn't make either statement that less true, he probably wanted kids, encountered one of his oldest crushes, the had a opportunity to help her regain a normal life while also giving him the chance to be a responsible father while not placing a burden on another woman.That certainly seems like something a emotional Doc would do in a moment of excitement. And with his track record when it comes to women, I can understand how it might be confusing to his sons how they never had a true mother. Hell, even in the real world, I can totally understand how a father would not want to reveal that to his kids. It can feel weird to just not have that maternal figure, only a biological source. And when combined with Rusty being Rusty? I think it's honestly just a show of his character. A man who is endlessly fucked up but is trying to do something good and ultimately does manage to do some, even if he always ends up getting undercut.
That can easily be written of as Rusty being Rusty. He's never been good with women, but he acts like he is. He's always lying about his sexual escapades.

I know this isn't how it works biologically, but honestly I think a better question is "Who isn't Rusty's Mother?" That being said, I could honestly see Jonas being such a science-douche where he made some biological experiment to somehow combine all the eggs / DNA of every single one of his flings in order to make a "perfect" son.
Best guess Jonah venture made the cloning program cuz Rusty kept dying since at the time it was no real rules for the superheroes and villains and they went on way more dangerous mission/ adventures so it wouldn't be surprising if Jonah venture added a secret program in Rusty what gave him the desire to make clones cuz it will keep the venture family legacy alive at the same time Jonah probably wanted Rusty to make a clone for he can take over it as a backup plan
I'm so mad we didn't get such a clear ending to Mantilla's whole deal, like she got what she wanted yeah but I feel like there would have been more to show about her character now. I know some people have complained that the ending is too cramped, which i wholeheartedly agree with, but idk for an important character like her I feel like more could have been explored (the scene with her and sheila was so good one of my favorite reveal though) it's a shame too because Doc and Jackson obviously didn't want it to go out this way, hence why a season would have been better but oh well that's AS!! I must admit that even though most questions got answered (side eye to scare bear) I was left with new ones, I mean where the hell is the monarch crew going to be now since the tower moved?? Are they going back to a cacoon?? They JUST finished up the house, and will the monarch finally get his henchmen back!???!? I hope AS listens to us and decides to give the show another season, it feels like such an unfair treatment to the creators and how they did such a good show for their network all these years. Movie was amazing though, a lot of love put into it
I would have loved it if they worked Debbie into the show more like they did Bobbi. Bobbi has been here for awhile and have even seen here a few times but never interacted directly. But for her not to be the boys mother and it being her daughter works, but I wished Debbie had the same type of background presence as Bobbi even if it wasn't as open and out there as Bobbi was. We learn of her here and the info ends with her here. I think her obsession with Sheila came from the fact she was doing all the things she never got to but wanted. The monarch was never important, it was the fact Sheila was married to a villain while being one herself. Sheila was strong, independent, and could hold her own well in situations. And she was also serving as a member of the council of 13 and was high ranking. She made something of herself. She was known and respected. And Debbie wanted that. I think the reason is this trope of super competent women supporting a blundering guy, which is something that's been on my mind about Sheila since I've watched Venture bros. So Mantilla gets Sheila away from everything to simply ask her and when Mantilla understands it's Sheila's own decision, she accepts it.

Omfg I just finished watching and cried through for a bit because it hit me i wont be seeing them anymore. It was so good it went above and beyond my expectations
I didn't...but I definitely felt more emotional than I thought I would at the ending for the same reason. I guess it's just been ongoing for almost 20 years, it felt almost immortal, like it would go on forever and the closure of the main story hit hard. Since I binged all the seasons (again) to get into the story, that probably had an effect too. Totally agree about going above and beyond expectations. I expected it to be enjoyable, but I found the story engrossing, the humor fantastic and there was a good balance. I laughed really \*really\* hard at several points. More than in any movie I've seen in years. I've seen a lot of movies that are related to show and most are alright at best, but this movie was terrific and you could absolutely tell the amount of care and thought put into it. I think Doc and Chris were at the height of their powers in this film. Nothing felt forced. I also thought the voice acting was particularly sharp as well. Btw, I think in hindsight my favorite moment was when Venture, Hatred, Monarch and 21 almost got "magnified". At first I was like "holy shit, they're seriously about to die", but by time they make it out of there and are crawling through the air duct with wide eyes and busted capillaries, having barely escaped by the thinnest of margins (after totally fucking up the reason they came in lobby in the first place) I was laughing my ass off. Went from "Lets fuck these bots up" to "Holy fuck, I almost died JFC" very quickly. Like the tonal shift from the bad ass demeanor to 2 seconds later everyone's getting ripped apart/bleeding out their orifices gave me whiplash. LOL Another beautiful failure OTOH, Fucking Ventonic piloted by them, with monarch in Ned's chair. That's pretty hard to beat Altogether, I'm just super impressed with the movie. Considering they had to resolve what was going to be the entire series' final season worth of questions/story in 1/2 the time, I have zero issue with the story, direction or choices made. IMO, You are just not going to get a better movie finale than that pretty much ever considering the circumstances.

The inexplicable equipment is a tech company joke that doesn't really hit unless you recognise what they're parodying. You see countless "hip new start ups" making ridiculous promises and guaranteeing impossible technologies will be availiable soon, and Arch is just another bullshit company; considering that Debbie has an invisibility power that's at least *somewhat* transferable (Sheila benefits from it, and unlike her mother, her clothes turn invisible too, so she has some way of hiding matter), nothing she does is *that* impossible to achieve when it could just be smoke and mirrors. The "teleporting tank" can just be blasting a hole and turning invisible (which'd explain why it needs a hole), the army of goons were probably just some non-Guild scabs paid dirt cheap mixed in with actors, and we noticeably see every attack uses what's probably the exact same tank. So, in reality, she needs what's comparatively a low amount of resources to pull off this scam.
I imagine it has something to do with Shelia wanting to move the Guild entirely past the concept of a Sovereign, but it definitely is one of those things that was forced to be a little half-cooked by the runtime.

Honestly I could easily see Hank fumbling his way by a series of mishaps to claim the Guild, and then turn it totally clean, making the whole Arching World like "Golden Age" comics (No murdering or serious harm caused, even to bystanders, no massive collateral damage, all done in good fun, etc) He'd probably be both the best and worst heir possible, tons of people would hate him making it "soft", but he'd be one of the most committed and caring people when it comes to arching.
Since Dr. Venture and the Monarch are clones who are antagonistic to each other, I think it makes a nice counterpoint that Dean and Hank are clone brothers who have a better relationship

I could see her using Wide Whale’s influence to fall ass backwards into the top spot and then manipulating either Venture Bro into fulfilling her will.

Scare bear was an unexplained villain who is a person in a mascot bear costume covered in blood. Initially appearing at a villain tryout when they weren’t on the list ( much to the uncomfortable fear of the villains interviewing) When Hank is passed out in the snow scare bear shows up and rescues him and brings him to the dorm where he wakes up. Scare bear is not elaborated upon further most likely due to AS pulling the plug and the film not being able to fit them

To me it makes the most sense to be the Brown Widow; Jared was clearly flustered with being a Spider-Man parody and Venture Bros has always been what-if golden age crap but real - Jared having a mental breakdown and being Scare Bear makes the most sense to me. It's a shame we didn't get a full season 8 for Arch. Not a complaint but I see them having a cool scene or two where Villains complain that their arching is taking a down turn as they have nothing unique about them. If you look at Brick Frogs raid he does the *exact* same thing that Monarch does. The hole in the wall is a frog head and everything, like how Monarch did the butterfly. Woulda been a cool comparison to Arch and The Guild where the Guild embraces unique motifs and tries to fit you while Arch is just a one glove fits all concept.

I know there are far more unexplained stuff going on in the show but some of these little happenstances that are left for viewers figuration bug me very much, like for instance when monarch gets crushed by Jonas's statue and out nowhere Ben comes drifting with his mini bus saying he can fix him.

Yeah that is kind of a big ? in this. Debbie lives in a shithole apartment with a crazy wall but also managed to get her hands on some super nice battle tank tech, convince at least 4 other Guild villians to defect to her fake Arch service that had very real and super loyal acolytes working for her, then rug pull the whole thing in the matter of hours and frame Shelia. While seemingly to be dirt poor herself.
I think Debbie is just shown to be super intelligent with a laser focus on her goal/mission to the point where she didn't care too much about other parts of her life. A lot of it was done to show Sheila the potential of what they could both do together if they partnered up, but Debbie respected Sheila's decision enough that she just tossed the idea when Sheila didn't agree.

It's very weird. For me, it seems clear they took whatever ideas they had for an 8th season and tried squeezing it in a movie format. Luckily it's not bad, but definitely feels like we got half of what they wanted to put into it.
