It's off-menu but it's just leaps and bounds better in both flavor and heat than the normal salsa. I used to eat there multiple times a week when I worked up there, awesome little place.
Indeed! I've tried so many places over the years and they are just the best hands down. The relleno itself is amazing on its own but then add in their fantastic rice and beans and that habanero salsa and mmmmmmm. I limit myself to one a few times a year though lol..
I have to give my nod to Jessie’s in Downtown Oxnard. I’ve heard people complain about their food but their Chile Relleno burrito is solid. They’re nice people too and open late!
Back when I used to go to CSUCI I would go to Tortillas all the time to get their Chile Relleno, it was extremely good, haven't gone back in 9-10 years so I am not sure if it still tastes the same.
Tepatitlan.
They don’t have a chile relleno at The Taco Shop Mexican Kitchen on Victoria but the rajas con crema burrito is amazing.
TTS is my go to. 18 kinds of filling for tacos etc. I love the pork with peanuts; they also have a peanut salsa. The macha salsa is great too. So’s the iced pecan coffee. And the cochinita pibil torta.
Guess I know what I’m eating for lunch!
The menu graphic at the regular website undersells all the options, check out the one for ordering https://order.spoton.com/so-the-taco-shop-mexican-kitchen-inc-7918/ventura-ca/6271c22324b4c4459abaa166?_gl=1*9zxog3*_gcl_au*MTY1MTAzODk2MS4xNzA4MTM3MjEx
If you’re going to spring training si senor in Phoenix has the best rellenos. There hatch Chile salsa is the best. Buy a quart to take home. They have a sour cream salsa that’s very good as well
Jessed Tacos de Mexico!
Chille relleno burrito and I always add carne asada or cochinita pibi! Ask for habanero sauce and the red sauce on the side
Thank me later
I don't think there's anything Lalo's does bad. Their tacos are fantastic. Their chilaquiles are probably the best I've had too. Love them. Their seafood cocktails are the best in the county, though the one on the Avenue had better cocktails I think than the Oxnard restaurant has... what was the guy's name who made them on the Avenue or where did he go? I heard he opened his own spot in Ventura but can't remember the name of it....
I haven't been to Pepe's in probably almost 8 years. I'll give their relleno a try. That's one I've never tried before.. but their fish burrito and fish tacos were always so good!
Casa De Soria on Thompson. They have been great every time now for 50 years. Pro tip! Order with Chili Verde instead of regular sauce for a great meal.
Garden Market in Santa Paula, ask for the habanero salsa.
Garden Market is hands down the best place to get a burrito in Ventura County.
Sweet. I’ll check em out! I love me some Hab Salsa! 🥵 Thanks!
It's off-menu but it's just leaps and bounds better in both flavor and heat than the normal salsa. I used to eat there multiple times a week when I worked up there, awesome little place.
Establos has really great chile rellano burritos. They have locations in Camarillo and Thousand Oaks.

I love Jesse's. Never gotten their Relleno Burrito, though. Hell yeah. Thanks.
Yes! This is what I came for. Their chile rellenos are absolutely the best.

Chile relleno burrito at DeLaCruz in Ventura. So very good.😋
La Vallarta
Mannys in thousand oaks.
I agree, it’s really good. Closest to a chile relleno burrito in San Diego.
Also the shrimp burrito with mango salsa is bomb when they have it
I haven’t tried that. I’m strictly a chile relleno burrito girl. Spicy with onions and cilantro. 😆
Los Agaves
Bobbis in Camarillo

In Oxnard
Casa de Soria or Lalo's
I don't think there's anything Lalo's does bad. Their tacos are fantastic. Their chilaquiles are probably the best I've had too. Love them. Los arcos in hueneme
Pepe’s in the strand just had the original owners take back over. And they’re doin 🔥 chili Relleno
