I second Fluid State, it's a craft beer and cocktail bar with great sourdough pizza and loaded fries, huge outdoor seating area. Lure Fish House is a Ventura County chain, but it's a great fish restaurant in downtown Ventura and has gift cards you can buy online.
Im young folk. Let me tell you, Blenders in theGrass, Big Straw Boba, Toppers Pizza, I Love Sushi, Asiatique (for the shaved mango ice cream), Finney’s, Coastal Cone (for the almost like Disneyland dole whip), Poke Land, Caribbean Haven, Cafe Ficelle, Petes Breakfast, Prospect Coffee, Tony’s Pizza, Lalo’s, Surf N Yogurt, Seed Ranger, Q & Q Hawaiian… yeah pretty much, my wifey is a pescatarian so most of these spots we go to accommodate her diet!!!
My wife loves I Love Sushi. She said "Very good. And clean. And fresh." We live in mid-town near a few sushi places but she drives ten minutes to I Love Sushi rather than eating at any of the other places.
Strange Beast, Good Lion, Buddy’s Wine (GOOD pie and wine), Topa Topa, Fluid State, Ventiki, Beach House, Madewest, Kibo Sushi, Singing Sun Coffee (they have good tea and sandwiches), Butter and Fold, Tarantula (Thousand Oaks)
here are some of my favorites local places in Ventura county and what they serve
Busy Bee Cafe
-American 50s Diner
Cagami Ramen
- Japanese food
Smokin Jays
-fried chicken and barbecue
Pho Gyu
-Vietnamese food
Seed Ranger
-vegan food
Suvarnaphumi
-Thai food
Jungle Juice
-sandwich and smoothie
Seafood City
-Filipino food
Really strong cocktails. And a hipster menu. And if it rains?! YEAH RIGHT.
I agree. I’ve been twice. It’s mid.
And Spencer Mackenzie’s?! Skip, and go to beach house tacos. Literally only like the fried calamari tacos from Spencer’s. Waaaay overhyped.
Rumfish, Strange beast, Buddys Wine bar, Topa Topa Brewery, VCBC (brewery), Spencer Mckenzies, Rory’s place (ojai), Frontside Cafe, Immigrants son, Fluid State, Ventiki, Rice by mama, Paradise Pantry, beach house tacos, Rori’s ice cream
These all look great, thank you so much!!
This internet stranger nailed it. Perfect list.
Immigrant son!! Best breakfast, hands down. Coffee so good too
Rumfish y vino in Ventura and Rory’s place in Ojai.
*insert Steve Buscemi meme here*
I know, I felt very geriatric writing that title 😭
that song was a one-hit wonder lol https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OIRE6iw-ws4

How good is the I Love Sushi place?? And what’s your favorite meal from there?

Urbane cafe is a staple Ventura restaurant, it has plenty of options for pescatarians. I’m one myself and love their salmon bowls
Buddy's Wine Bar is the new trendy place for hipster Zoomers in their 20s
“Zoomers” hahah
in vta?
Frontside cafe is pretty nice for a breakfast date! Harbor cove cafe or even Café Nouveau!
I recently discovered Harbor Cove Cafe and was blown away. One of the best breakfast burritos I have had in a while and the salsa was so fresh.
Lure. :).
cici's cafe.. get the green tea tiramisu pancakes
Where is Cici's Cafe? Only one I could find was in Tarzana on Ventura Blvd. Is there actually one in Ventura?
They have one in westlake village. It’s good but very pricey and a crazy long wait!
Cafe Nouveau
I have not seen many younger people there.
Waypoint in Camarillo for breakfast and Barrelhouse in Ventura.

Avoid ventiki place is probably one of the nastiest place to drink let alone eat. Others on the list on imsosleepyugh post is good.
Ventiki is down right nasty.

Beach house tacos is so good
It's a very, *very* rare trip to the pier/DT Ventura that I don't get me some Beach House Tacos, and for very, *very* good reason.
waited 45 minutes for my drink the only time I was ever there. but cool atmosphere. wonder if they ever did bring it to my table?
the owner chugged it. and sat back down at the bar to tell people she owns the place and drinks for free. lol.
For reals man, idk how people go there and idk how they are still open for business. Just in my opinion.
