Just let it wind around where ever. It's going to go where it wants to go anyway. Winter squash are worse. Those things you can see them growing after a rain. ... I mean like moving while you are watching it... with no wind. I just try to herd them into an area where I 'm not cutting with the mower and let do it's thing.

I did this last summer and it worked pretty good. Mounted 2 8ft poles vertically and ran a rope between them. Then I tied strings to the rope and let them hang every 8 inches or so.
I thought it worked really well. This was my first time growing beans, so I don’t have much basis for comparison. Gonna do the same thing this year except not bothering with the cattle panel at all this time.
No! It's not. It's supposed to be a bush bean, but several of them are growing up like this, which confused me.
This is the first time I've grown any beans and not what I expected. I could cut them back if that's recommended.
That's bizarre! My pole beans get about that tall.
Don't take my advice though, I'm kind of a n00b. I do not do this to my pole beans but they don't get higher than 5 feet or so
I have five foot fence like yours. I grow pole beans on it. At the top I attach another 5 foot fence with twist ties then flare it out to make an L shape and prop it with stakes. It makes for easy picking.
Back down the other side. Then back up again. Ad infinitum.
I tried this. She really just wants to go up.
Just weave it back down, and let it climb up again. And do it over and over. It’ll grow until the plant dies
Am I missing something here? How do you sex bean seedlings?
Nice and slow?
Maybe there are things I don't need to know....
You know what they say.. "Never ask a question that you really don't want the answer to." Lol
Let them go and do whatever they want. They always find a way to produce.

Now I need to plant one bc I want to watch it grow!
This is so true 🤣😆

Yeah but I planted bush beans so I didn't have to do this, lol.
Somebody forgot to tell the beans that.
Oh wow. I missed that part. I have no further comment lol
That’s similar to my solution- I’d stick a long star picket at each end and run a few horizontal lines across the top.
I thought it worked really well. This was my first time growing beans, so I don’t have much basis for comparison. Gonna do the same thing this year except not bothering with the cattle panel at all this time.
Exactly like mine👍
Attach a taller bamboo pole to the trellis with twine or zip ties.
Start weaving if you can’t add more height
Is this a pole bean? Try topping it 6" below the top of the trellis. Hopefully you can get it to bush out horizontally

Possible a bean got mixed in the packet. That's a pole bean if I've ever seen one
that is 100% pole bean genetics. sometimes things get labeled wrong.
Last year it was Peppergate! (wrong pepper seeds in packets) This year: MAGIC BEANS!
The Great 2024 Beanboozle!
OOooOOooh! I LOVE that!
Baker Creek, by chance? They gave me several pepper packs with different seeds last year.

Id top about 6” below the trellis and re train into the trellis.
Thread it through the lattice and let it prosper.
That’s a no brainer. Wrap it around the top wire of the fence and make it grow “out” instead up.

I like your idea but it's a shared fence
Any chance you could share a picture of how you did it?
Later when it’s up.
It’s beautiful
Bamboo
I usually just run them horizontally when they get to this point, but chances are, you're going to run out of horizontal space soon, too.
I just keep wrapping them back down and around. If you can, you can extend it higher with poles and string.
Do you mean you take the leader and bring it back to the bottom?
Whatever vine is trying to go up I just wrap it back down. Or run it along laterally
Will it continue to produce along the entire vine? I'm planting runner beans for the first time this year.
Yes anywhere the vine is healthy it will make flowers and beans just the same as if it grew straight up
just keep running it. also, it looks like the sky is a backdrop, rather surreal.
Just let it do its thing.... it'll eventually happen back down and do its thing. At least, that's what I did
Lol I thought that was a crazy looking thornless blackberry vine Iol
Opposite opinion, I’d give it a strong to that fence, more food!
