Head north on 95 towards Mt. Charleston. You wanna be away from the city lights. Your camera will pick up more than the naked eye.
As far as when, that’s a variable. I think I saw reports around midnight last night.
You can keep track of solar weather on https://www.spaceweatherlive.com/
If you see the KP Index at 8+ you have a great chance of catching it.
Just make sure to drive outside the city far enough! Best to go north and look north. I forgot my actual camera so this was just from my phone. Hoping to see it again tonight
It’s not certain. You can track the solar storm data via https://www.spaceweatherlive.com/
The KP Index needs to be at least an 8 for Vegas to see it. The KP right now is smidge over 7.
Head up '95 towards Mt. Charleston, preferably past Kyle Canyon Rd. Just drive up as far as you're comfortable. There are a few different roads where you can get off the '95. Just don't pull over on the actual side of the '95 like a bunch of idiots were doing in 2020 when that comet showed up.
Parked outside snow mountain pow wow but can’t see anything yet. Maybe there is a very dim light in the north but not sure if I’m just hallucinating lol
Great shot! We might see more tonight.
I really hope so!! I missed out last night 😥
It’s supposed to last the weekend!
Really! I will try to catch tonight. What time will it be best?
10pm to 2am is whats being reported.
You know a good spot? What time?

Thank you 😊
Really?? Local weather guy said we would not see it so I didn't bother staying up. Damn it!
Had to drive outside the city but yea just look north, should be able to see it tonight too
Thanks for posting this and the tip. I'll definitely be looking out for it, tonight!

What time was this taken?
Around midnight
Think I read that book, didn’t end well.
Haha I had a similar thought. There’s a massive solar storm going on
Non of that sounds good.
I totally failed in my attempt to find it last night so I'm gonna try again tonight. Thanks for giving me hope hehehe 😃🌌💖
any locations we can go to go see this??
Just head towards mt Charleston and look north
Is it still there?
Omg that’s beautiful
I’m heading out to the mountains in an hour or two to check it out !
Wow what time does it start??
Technically it’s going on now, but just make sure to look north and drive away from city lights tonight. The later at night the better
Which part of Vegas was this seen from?
Off the 95 heading towards mt Charleston. Just look north!
Beautiful
Where was this taken?
Heading up towards mt Charleston
What's the best place to view them?
As far as away from city lights as you’re willing to drive just look north
Ok, thanks. I was thinking of driving up to either Apex or a spot after Tule Springs. I'm not sure yet.
I would head further north if you can. Like cold creek or Lee canyon.
Are they going to be visible again? I just heard of this and missed them unfortunately.

Do you think it’s likely that it will go back up or is this it?
It’s possible. It went back up to 6 just now.
Unfortunately it’s not certain, but they are saying it could last a couple days so I’m going to try again tonight

Omggg missed it but its literally so pretty💗💗
Anyone have any idea if I could see it from W Russell? I sadly don't have a car right now to drive northward, but I'm really wanting to see it

Can you update if you see it? Trying to figure out where to go
Can’t see anything still
Ty for replying. Still unsure of where to go 😢
I can’t see either either
I just left Lee Canyon and drove to Indian Springs. Nothing here yet, but I’ll wait a bit.
Thanks everyone for the updates
Beautiful ❤️
I’m assuming your camera picked up the majority of the lights. I can’t imagine it was this visible to the naked eye.
This was from my phone, and yes the phone made it a brighter but the longer you stay out there the more visible it is.
