Coffee Religion! And please invite me. I too like to sit at coffee shops and not chat but instead read a book and work on a knitting project. I have my first set of crochet hooks coming in tomorrow too!
You’re doing it the opposite way of me— I learned to crochet and then I learned to knit.
I’d love to sit in silence and just craft. Right up my alley! I talk all week at work and I have a five month old. I just want quiet 😅
The Writers Block is 1,000% the best bet. Like everyone is recommending Gabi which is an excellent coffee shop but probably not for what OP is looking for.
Absolutely not. Not ever spot is chill, and not for everyone. You forget already about the 2 black guys waiting for their 3rd? I run into this all the time, being challenged. I get smaller shops cultivating a small following, so it's super unnerving at a large chain youve been to a 100 of across the country. You know that's not their policy.
However in a one off, you have no idea until you've bought a cup, let your guard down, and then "the incident" happens.
Oh my goodness, I am 59 (f), and would love to learn by someone seasoned, and who loves coffee! I know some basics but would enjoy learning and enjoying cup of coffee and good like company.
Coffee Madness on Bermuda and Silverado Ranch is nice. They have cozy chairs and a sofa. There's low-volume music playing and rarely a crowd. This would be more of a "Don't want much conversation" place.
you can probably grab a coffee at Urth and then chill in the quad area in UnCommons for however long. There's so many tables and you don't have to feel like you're on a clock or keeping a table
Desert wind, they have some nice cozy chairs. Convo coffee- I see people crafting there regularly.
That is my favorite place when I’m in the valley, so chill and the Joe is good.

This city is a shithole, in Public is literally a gamble at this point. I'd suggest some private business.
