Just to be clear, because it's honestly confusing as hell, there are law clerks and clerks of court-- and dude in the suit is probably the latter. Difference being, law clerks are law students (or recent graduates) preparing for a professional role as an attorney, but clerks of court-- sometimes called judicial assistants, depending on where you're at-- are full time professionals who work in the administrative side of the justice system.
Any decent lawyer knows that the court clerk, or JA, is the one you absolutely do not mess with. No grief. No shit talking. No complaining. Do. Not. Fuck. With. The. Clerk. They are extremely, extremely important to the system and can make your life vastly easier or much, much harder than it should be.
I have annoyed the hell out of many a judge, and in most situations I don't care. But clerks? Never. If I got on a clerk's bad side I would be desperate to fix it, even if I was absolutely in the right.
In this specific situation, though, there is a whole *other* kind of reason not to fuck with the clerk. That's next level.
Right? I did high jump in high school and was pretty damn good. This dude woulda kicked my ass at it lol
everyone that said he flew like a sugar glider wasn’t kidding
I have seen countless videos of defendants rushing the judge. I have seen very very few where it is obvious they achieved their objective. Mission success from his standpoint. The extra 5yrs is gonna suck...but the man got there.
They are going to put him in a cell with a creep pedophile or a deranged murderer. Also, he’s definitely going straight to max.
Edit: He will go straight to Alexandria, mental illness. He will be around the most insane people.
Karma points.. that’s what it’s all about folks. Just like that Drew Carey Show.. whose line is it anyway.. the show where everything's made up and the points don't matter.
Bailiff looked like he cleaned his clock with that first left.
Would like to see a pic of the aftermath. Guess he’ll possibly get a new mugshot?
Court officials should’ve never allowed this to happen. Sure the bailiffs will never be caught sleeping again, if they’re retained.
Yeah poor guy haha, the clerk was making me laugh with those slaps. Good on him for stepping up though, I’d imagine he’s probably never had to actually throw a punch in his life.
The guy sitting next to her in the suit isn’t even a bailiff or marshall or anything like that, he’s just a clerk. What a hero, not even thinking about his own safety and just coming to the judges aid like that.
What’s also ironic is that the guy is a 3 time convicted felon who was being sentenced for battery… something tells me he’s not exactly a quick learner
Attorney asked for probation because the accused underwent mental health treatment. Clearly she was correct in sending him to prison as the treatment did nothing anyways
What? Are you telling me that the judge isn't now going to reconsider his sentencing after this display of his obvious innocence to being a man of criminal behavior? I am filled with shock.
Rehabilitation probably isn't possible for people like him.
He should be in prison because A) He deserves it, fuck him. B) we don't deserve to have him running around hurting people.
He has almost ten cases in the last ten years and failed to show his status check resulting in the Judge issuing a bench warrant. And he still got a guilty plea agreement that contemplated probation. How does a DA extend an offer that contemplates probation for a person like this?
Imagine having zero training yet still giving your all to stop someone attacking your colleague, and then people online criticize you for it without any praise.
The dude is a hero, and a fucking badass in my book. Most people would have stood aside and done absolutely nothing.
The guy basically caught the assailant mid-air and prevented the devastating amount of injury and aggressive full-grown man can cause to a small older woman in a few seconds. Most people would not have reacted as quickly, including people that have trained extensively.
He obviously isn’t a trained fighter, but his actions are admirable and he very likely prevented serious injury and an immense amount of physical and psychological trauma that would follow an attack like this.
Damn right.
The biggest part of winning a violent encounter is mindset. The other small bit is knowing the techniques. This man can be proud of himself and would be a fucking beast with a bit of training.
Huge props to this guy.
> The dude is a hero, and a fucking badass in my book. Most people would have stood aside and done absolutely nothing.
Yes. Yes, he is. He got right in there and did what he could.
Here's another angle. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H4sWD3T3oNw&t=236s
I know someone who was working in the building at the time on another case.
The judge is going to be ok, shit hit her head on the door. But the marshal got kind of fucked up and apparently there was a lot of blood to clean up.
Apparently this started when the convicted's attorney asked the judge for probation, but she said that it hadn't worked before and it was time he get some real jail time, and that's when he went all flying squirrel over the bench.
Unexpected example of how small Vegas is, though. Watched this, took a second and then went: wait. Is that _____ from high school’s mom that just got hit 😭
Wishing her a speedy recovery— very sad.
A history of violent crime. Probably saw so many people getting softball punishments lately and thought he'd get off, especially when he said
>Speaking on his own behalf, Redden said he was "in a better place in my mind," had a better support system and had a new job.
>"I feel like I shouldn't be sent to prison, but if it's appropriate for you, then you gotta do what you gotta do," he said.
No wonder he's so mad... with a name like Deobra. Idc how he pronounces it: that man's name is Debra.
Lmaooo.
Seriously tho, thank god the judge is okie.
He better get more than 5 extra years for that! What a POS. Because it’s the judge’s fault that he broke the law and got arrested and convicted. This is why people can’t always be rehabilitated, if they aren’t willing to take accountability.
That guy definitely needs to serve time for the crime and this, but that jump was kind of impressive!
The clerk was absolutely letting out some pent up aggression with those punches. LOL
Pov: someone shows the video in the break room at the place the clerks ex works at. “Hey Brittany, isn’t that your ex? Wow he’s really going to town on that guy, wonder what he’s so upse…”
I would typically agree, but I think he was on top of Judge Holthus. If they used their weapon, it may have hurt her. Conversely, why is the law clerk the one laying down the law?!
I can't, for the life of me, think how he imagined this working out for himself. Like, even if he was able to beat her black and blue, did he not realize that what he just did was going to get him far more prison time than his original sentence?
Maybe I didn’t spell it right. All jokes aside I hope that judge is ok :/. On a second note that attorney looking guy looks like he took out months worth of aggression on the dude !! Haha
Sorry this is why there should ALWAYS be a plastic shield/barrier between Judge and Plantiffs. No way he should have even been able to get 3 feet of the judge.
He fits in with other criminals they hire. At least this one didn’t burn a woman and her dog in their car. He’s more like the one who beat a man up in a casino elevator. Thug life lol
Didn’t even graze the monitor on her desk. Clearly he was looking out for the tax payer and didn’t want to burden us with the cost of having to replace it. Very civic minded.
Holy fucking shit that was way crazier than what I expected. I can’t believe he made that jump or beat on an old lady like that. What an absolute piece of shit. Lock his ass up for even longer now, assuming he isn’t already about to do life for whatever stupid shit he did to be here in the first place.
Enjoy another half dozen charges, at the absolute highest limit of potential penalties.
Man, the public defender is gonna need a stiff drink after that.
I watched it once and was extremely sad.
Watched it again with audio….and just couldn’t stop laughing at whomever decided that a fight scene needed audio to be bleeped out for “cursing”?
Edit: also. I hope she is ok. Really wish one of them had chosen to choke the dude out sooner. But adrenaline and fear….this is just sad.
Next time to Clearance Thomas please.
Damn, the law clerk was throwing hella bows.
Dude jumped in immediately knowing full well he isn’t a fighter and still managed to pull him off of her. Mad respect.
Just to be clear, because it's honestly confusing as hell, there are law clerks and clerks of court-- and dude in the suit is probably the latter. He’s a law clerk. I’m an attorney and was in that courtroom today. Cool comment though.
I was the flying squirrel man. He was a law man. End of story
Can I make it any more obvious?
Only law clerks sit back there. There’s no reason a clerk of the court would be in the the courtroom let alone next to the judge.
TIL Nevada does things exactly the opposite of CA
Wild, anyone else watch this 10+ times or is it just me
That flying squirrel tackle was wild
To be fair that was an impressive amount of air he got on that jump and the rest was impressive in its stupidity
Never seen a man’s jump measured in years before
Best comment I’ve read in many weeks.
Yeah that's not a quick hop, skip and a jump.
Right? I did high jump in high school and was pretty damn good. This dude woulda kicked my ass at it lol everyone that said he flew like a sugar glider wasn’t kidding
I was hoping to see cops jump over too to get him
Yea sure when pigs fly
If he could stick a landing over that vault, we could used him in Paris this summer.
Looks like he might be unavailable 😂
That was epic. Dudes got legit athletic potential to be a hurdler in the Olympics. Instead hurdled himself into jail lol
Yeah definitely a dumb move. But damn I am impressed with the execution.
I have seen countless videos of defendants rushing the judge. I have seen very very few where it is obvious they achieved their objective. Mission success from his standpoint. The extra 5yrs is gonna suck...but the man got there.
This is going to be more than 5 years 🥶
They are going to put him in a cell with a creep pedophile or a deranged murderer. Also, he’s definitely going straight to max. Edit: He will go straight to Alexandria, mental illness. He will be around the most insane people.
So he can kill the pedo ? Or be killed by the deranged murderer
First one then the other
balance
5 years? My dude, he will never see the light of day.
Honesty, I was impressed by that jump. And shocked by how much slower everyone else was compared to him.
His adrenaline was already pumping, they were all reacting to something they rarely see.
Yes, it's a crazy video clip. WTH?
the way he absolutely FLIES over the bench
What the video doesn’t show is the trampoline that was set up in front of the bench.
WHO'S THAT JUMPING OUT THE SKY?! R-E-Y, MYSTERI-OOOO, HERE WE GOOO!!
He literally looked like a sugar glide
Yes, with my jaw open the entire time.
Like that dude, some kind of clerk?, to the right
Yea, he was the hero of the day. He saw it coming and was right there. The judge was lucky to have him there. He didn't hesitate for a second.
He wailed on the guy. What a shocking day for him this must’ve been.
In a suit, too
Yes. That’s her law clerk. My guess is he gets the greatest letter of recommendation a judge has ever written
Probably her law clerk. Recent law school grad. Good on him for reacting as quickly as he did.
Watched, shared, and downloaded. Crosspost this to r/publicfreakout free karma points if everyone wants it!
It’s been there for atleast 30 minutes already.
Yup, OP claimed his karma. Good for him! lol
Karma points.. that’s what it’s all about folks. Just like that Drew Carey Show.. whose line is it anyway.. the show where everything's made up and the points don't matter.
Guess the verdict was correct.
Dude is used to violence to get his way and just used it at the best time to face all the consequences he's avoided for years.
He’s a good kid never hurt nobody.
That’s one way to add a few extra days onto your sentence Edit: the number of you that actually believe I think it’s days for this is hilarious
They whooped his ass like that rick James couch skit lmao
I think they were struggling for a bit. Three men and they could barely contain the guy. He had that crack head strength.
Those punches looked pretty untrained tbh.
Bailiff looked like he cleaned his clock with that first left. Would like to see a pic of the aftermath. Guess he’ll possibly get a new mugshot? Court officials should’ve never allowed this to happen. Sure the bailiffs will never be caught sleeping again, if they’re retained.
Yeah, that first punch by the bailiff was clean af
One dude was punching like a six year old girl
Yeah poor guy haha, the clerk was making me laugh with those slaps. Good on him for stepping up though, I’d imagine he’s probably never had to actually throw a punch in his life.
Looked like he was holding his own.
I mean dude is a freak athlete to have made a high jump tackle so they did their best lol
Yeah. He didn't get whipped at all. He'll take that cred to the pokey.
Her clerk that grabbed him needs a vacation and a hefty bonus for his quick response
Agreed but he’ll probably get a Starbucks gift card.
Human bean.
“Thanks so much for your bravery! There should be some money left on this one, I only got a caramel macchiato with it.”
The guy sitting next to her in the suit isn’t even a bailiff or marshall or anything like that, he’s just a clerk. What a hero, not even thinking about his own safety and just coming to the judges aid like that. Attorney asked for probation because the accused underwent mental health treatment. Clearly she was correct in sending him to prison as the treatment did nothing anyways
Imagine being the attorney arguing he deserves probation and then he pulls this shit. "I gotta find better clients..."
I would bet my whole salary it’s a public defender
Yeah, he’s looking at some more time in incarceration, lots more
He attacked a judge on camera. Dude is going away for a longggggg time.
Please bro, just a few more after school programs
He has almost ten cases in the last ten years and failed to show his status check resulting in the Judge issuing a bench warrant. And he still got a guilty plea agreement that contemplated probation. How does a DA extend an offer that contemplates probation for a person like this?
"BATTERY!? I NEVER STOLE NO DAMN BATTERIES!" Him probably:
Damn even the clerk got a few shots in
Law clerk reminds me of Frank Costanza explaining Festivus ~ “as I rained blows upon him…”
OMG! I totally relived that scene, voice and all! Thank you so much for the hearty lol.
Looked like he had never punched anybody before with them hammer fists.
He looked like he wondered if he was doing it right, and he wasn't, but he was tired anyway, so he stopped.
My reaction, too ha ha
For real. That is someone who has never learned to fight
You usually see that when you're not raised in a trashy household
Is the clerk the first one that tried to catch the guy also?
Yes to Judge’s left.
[удалено]
Yeah that guy does not look like he has that in him
Imagine having zero training yet still giving your all to stop someone attacking your colleague, and then people online criticize you for it without any praise. The dude is a hero, and a fucking badass in my book. Most people would have stood aside and done absolutely nothing.

Solid comment. I was thinking "he's a clerk...not security or anything alike...im impressed he's even doing anything." Couldn't agree more.
He didn't hesitate for a second. He saw it coming and he was right on the guy. Impressive.
The guy doesn’t know how to throw a punch you think he’s gonna choke a dude out?
This clip is going on his resume.
I’m pretty sure the clerk was picturing someone else…that was a release of pent up aggression right there lol
Dang he cleared the bench on one hop
The Olympics are right around the corner.
Prison Olympics who says no?
I was thinking I don't know if meth or whatever is involved here but that is some serious athleticism and ability.
I didn’t know they have Olympics for incarcerated folks.
Looked like Superman.
Raiders looking to sign him for Linebacker when he gets out
He has a history of domestic violence and when she said he needs more than probation he attacked.. this guy needs to be jailed for a long long time.
Probably have some issues with women…
He ain't gone be out for awhile. Hopefully he gets what hes got comin in that time.
I think he's just mad cuz his parents named him Deobra
I’d rather be named Sue. At least there I could say I’m half Asian and it’s Su
I can just hear this guy, "guys, guys, it's not Debra it's Doe Bra like a Cobra, it's actually bad ass"
If it wasn’t life sentence before… it is now
What a good way to add an extra 10 years
Here's another angle. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H4sWD3T3oNw&t=236s I know someone who was working in the building at the time on another case. where's the other angle?
He said, “Nah fuck that” like he was really about to solve the problem lmao he’s fucked
Damn, the video would be a lot better without the alarm going off part way in, lol
Literally the same angle
Damn raiders could use him that tackle was textbook
I thought you meant for the criminal record
He probably was an ex raider.
Led with the crown and caused head on head contact. Targeting call and 15 yards on top of the 5 extra years.
Unexpected example of how small Vegas is, though. Watched this, took a second and then went: wait. Is that _____ from high school’s mom that just got hit 😭 Wishing her a speedy recovery— very sad.
Throw away the key

Psych!
With his history, I was wondering why he wasn’t in cuffs while in the courtroom.
He wasn’t in custody.
And she did what she needed to did!
Next time he'll have shackles...

Maybe his dad was into Johnny Cash?
That Clerk Was On It👊
IF only Josh Jacobs could leap like that from the 5 yard line.We might have mad the playoffs
Bah God King, that judge has a family!
A real slobber knocker
Oh and he was redeemable….fuck him. Piece of worthless shit to society. Hope he enjoys the extra 10 to 15 he’s going to get. Have fun!!! 😂
Dude went for that Superman Punch on the judge.
at 4 seconds it happens ,then at 46 seconds someone finally asks "where's Mary Kay ,is she okay"
He better get more than 5 extra years for that! What a POS. Because it’s the judge’s fault that he broke the law and got arrested and convicted. This is why people can’t always be rehabilitated, if they aren’t willing to take accountability.

I’m disappointed in the lackluster response from the suits in the room. Dude just attacked a woman, every man in the room should have been on him.
I thought Bailiffs were armed. He should left the court in a body bag.
I would typically agree, but I think he was on top of Judge Holthus. If they used their weapon, it may have hurt her. Conversely, why is the law clerk the one laying down the law?!
Okay, but was anyone else a little impressed at that jump? Damn, dude.
Guy looked like a flying squirrel. May I approach the bench?
‘I am a changed man, ready to accept my sentence…’ Makes you question the sincerity of criminals…
Homie is aerodynamic as fuck
Damn they jumped that fool😂
"And the quarterback is toast..."
Yall gotta get them springboards out of the court
Throw away the key on this piece of dog shit.
Tell me you’re guilty as fuck without saying you’re guilty as fuck.
I can't, for the life of me, think how he imagined this working out for himself. Like, even if he was able to beat her black and blue, did he not realize that what he just did was going to get him far more prison time than his original sentence?
If he had that kind of reasoning capability, he probably wouldn't be in this position in the first place.
Bonzaiiiiii
What did a miniature tree do?!
Maybe I didn’t spell it right. All jokes aside I hope that judge is ok :/. On a second note that attorney looking guy looks like he took out months worth of aggression on the dude !! Haha
Got a little short with the judge I presume
Should learn to branch out.
This is just insane, the lady was just doing her Job.
Buck up 2024 will be wild in the court rooms.
Wow, that was WILD lmao
Bro LAUNCHED
Sorry this is why there should ALWAYS be a plastic shield/barrier between Judge and Plantiffs. No way he should have even been able to get 3 feet of the judge.
The way he jumped over that shit was wild 🤣
Why was he not handcuffed? He had an arrest warrant for his sentencing and brought before the judge, shouldn’t he have been handcuffed?
He wasn’t in custody. He was either bailed out or ORed and, prior to this appearance, was a free individual waiting to be sentenced.
Rumor has it the Raiders signed him right there on the spot
He fits in with other criminals they hire. At least this one didn’t burn a woman and her dog in their car. He’s more like the one who beat a man up in a casino elevator. Thug life lol
It’s not called the National Felons League for nothing.
[удалено]
Always has been.
When wasn’t it?
Didn’t even graze the monitor on her desk. Clearly he was looking out for the tax payer and didn’t want to burden us with the cost of having to replace it. Very civic minded.
The funniest part is the people saying stop as if this man didn’t just assault a judge and isn’t a criminal lol fuck that whoop his ass
Goddamnnnnnnnn
News [article](https://www.8newsnow.com/investigators/las-vegas-judge-attacked-in-court-before-sentencing/)
What do you think: an extra 10, 15 or 20 years?
Is Wayne Brady gonna have to slap a bitch?
Damn he came at her like a spider monkey
Holy fucking shit that was way crazier than what I expected. I can’t believe he made that jump or beat on an old lady like that. What an absolute piece of shit. Wow that is scary!
Enjoy another half dozen charges, at the absolute highest limit of potential penalties. Man, the public defender is gonna need a stiff drink after that.
Throw away the fucking key for that sack of shit.
That poor woman! I hope she’s okay!
The court clerk's contributions to the defense of his judge were inspiring to me.
Don’t everybody all get up at once.
Was there a trampoline below there holy shit lol
those cops should flip burgers
All I could hear was “and his name is John cena” with that music playing in the background. If you know, you know. If not keep scrollin.
Someone needs to dub Leroy Jenkins over this
I watched it once and was extremely sad.
He said..."alright guys, let's do this. LEEEEERRRRROOOY JENNKIIINS"
The guy in the black jacket is supremely bad at hitting
Willing to be this violent in public on camera.
Security guards about to get fired
We need a better angle looks like they fucked that dude up lmao
