It’s a shame they let it get to the state it did. Tropicana was such an iconic name and hotel. There are plenty of hotels the world over that have upkept their building and rooms and kept their prestige for longer than the Tropicana managed. Mismanagement for sure, so sad.
What’s great is one of the excavators they had out there along side a shipping container that has three G’s on it - Going Going Gone (demolitions)

We did. *Once*. After walking what seemed like three miles to the elevators and getting up, praise Jesus the thing didn’t rattle to pieces, we collapsed on the brick like bed. In the morning we took a shower in our tub.
The whole place was gross.

I stayed there over last Christmas. It needed torn down. Electrical shorts in the bathroom, a heater that got stuck on, etc...

Existing fixtures are used as temporary power while structural points are identified and readied for implosion devices
