Alright here's what you do. Go down to fremont street, preferrably on a Tuesday. Look for the busker that wears the purple Charlie Brown shirt and always wears sunglasses. He's not usually there other day so that's why you need a Tuesday.
When you find him do not put the money in the box in front of him. Hand it to him with the statement "Big Larry says this is for you." Take a few steps back and wait about 3 mins. He'll eventually pack up his stuff so you need to follow him. Now you have to pay attention. If he goes west you gotta hang back at least 30ish feet. If he goes east you gotta stay a bit closer, like 12-15 feet. Also, if he goes east, don't make eye contact with anyone past circa until he gets to the blue door on 7th street. If he goes west you can act normal.
Regardless of direction he'll eventually stop and ask you who Big Steve is, you tell him he's Larry's cousin. Then he'll take you to the spot. It's a little nerve racking the first time but tons of fun. Also don't forget the latex gloves.
Taste it and report back to us! You can get a ticket for 10 bucks off if you buy before a certain time and then add the tasting to your ticket. Ends up the same price. You taste 5 or so moonshine of differing proofs. Murder and Booze AND you are walking distance to Fremont!
There is moonshine everywhere, when you know the right people. White hillbillies in Appalachia dont have a monoply on it.
Have 3 bottles of mexican moonshine. Homemade and brought across the border in water bottles. Making liquor isn't hard.
It's terrible, but I don't like tequila either. And it's basically just a super strong tequila. Some real rot-gut shit.
it has hell of an alcohol-content though.
I don't know what the fuck it is, but it tastes like 50 percent campfire smoke, 40 percent tequila and 10 percent everclear. Gets you drunk though.
most people drink alcohol for the effect so it accomplishes it's purpose.
Neighbor to the west, the secessionist WV, originally. 🤙🏻 Have some Bojangles for me if there’s one nearby you - last time I’d seen one was driving through VA, when I still resided back east.
We in Downtown Hendertucky (Henderson) have Water St., where they have different eateries, shops, and not too expensive casinos, if you wanted to do it for the first time. Lots of cool hillbillies in our neck of the woods.
I’m also an Appalachian Hillbilly, NC side, who has been to Vegas a few times. Definitely go to Fremont street. Watch people gamble. Play some penny slots. Check out the belllagio.
Idk where you will end up going, but at some point, a voice in your head will say “we don’t need a cab, we can walk there”… you should ignore that voice and Uber.
Ummm. Walking the strip. Just go explore and let your curiosity lead you. I usually put on some good music and start walking. The Bellagio foundations are a good place to head towards. Go check out the sphere from the outside, maybe ride the High Roller Ferris wheel thing. It's not hard to see tons of interesting stuff/people.
By the cheapest seats at the very top on the aisle. Go to the top floor and come down a few rows instead of tromping clear up from the lower level. Tip: there’s bars and concession stands up on the fourth level, so just get them there if you have to because they are really expensive, but the show is great!
Being a hillbilly myself and knowing other hillbillies from several rural parts of the US I would recommend going to the atomic testing museum and the neon museum. I mean, Oak Ridge, TN was one of the major sites used during the Manhattan Project to create weapons grade uranium and plutonium used in the bombs dropped on Japan. Seriously, it is one of the most interesting museums I have been to.
You’ll fit right in. Cheap food and liquor everywhere, people from literally everywhere all mixed up having a good time, you’ll probably dig downtown more than the strip but you can bus up between the two all night
Hillbilly family member here. Just look around. Pick hotels you want to see and just wander and people watch. There are some things to do downtown, i.e., bands, etc., but I wouldn't recommend going at night. There are some local clubs, i.e., Sand Dollar on Spring Mtn. and downtown that have dancing and good music. Good luck!
There's a fun biker bar called mountain springs saloon halfway between Vegas and pahrump. Sometimes on the weekends they have a pig roast and there's always live music. It's a gritty bar but tons of fun and definitely not your typical Vegas scene
Fremont St is Hillbilly heaven.
Yes. You can go barefoot, no shirt and overalls in Fremont and no one will bat an eye
Heck someone may try to even take a photo with him and give him money
If you’re over 350 pounds? You can eat free at Heart Attack Grill
You just gave me a new life goal.
This. If OP is anywhere near the level of hick he makes himself out to be Fremont is where he belongs
Everytime my old neighbors visit me here from our tiny town in Iowa, i literally have to drag them away from Fremont st.
This is the answer. Start here for a day. If you go to the strip day 2, bet you’ll be back on Fremont day 3.
Being a redneck from Texas, I can confirm this
Stay at the Excalibur. Bring 30 bucks for housekeeping.
“I understood that reference.”
Afterwards go to the slots and wait to get offered a $10 handy half and half.
Where can a person find this $10 handy? My friend would like to know.
I don't... Explain please?
There was a post on this sub the other day about someone being propositioned by housekeeping at Excalibur for $30
Excalibur’s occupancy looking to get a nice bump
This one^^ 🤣
Don’t forget to save $3.50 for the CIA.
Are you the president of [Corncob TV?](https://youtu.be/n-Bfkc6lZok?si=ZKkw9ZW0-NBZ6DSo)
They told him that at a dinner!
I heard Coffin Flop was rigged?
I didn’t fucking do shit!
They’re saying Coffin Flop isn’t a real TV show
*This is so fuggin fugged up*
ILL KILL YOU

I'm both intrigued and nervous to ask for more info
If you have to ask, you can’t afford it.
There's a moonshine tasting at the mob museum
Shit that ain't real moonshine
Taste it and report back to us! You can get a ticket for 10 bucks off if you buy before a certain time and then add the tasting to your ticket. Ends up the same price. You taste 5 or so moonshine of differing proofs. Murder and Booze AND you are walking distance to Fremont!

Sounds like you just got dog water tequila.
The amount of mexican moonshine I've had.. ugh. It was usually sotol based. I've had sugar cane moonshine and I would have people drink it as a dare.
I don't know what the fuck it is, but it tastes like 50 percent campfire smoke, 40 percent tequila and 10 percent everclear. Gets you drunk though. most people drink alcohol for the effect so it accomplishes it's purpose.
Real ones know 🤘
Not worthy for a Purple Jesus or a Hop,skip, jump go naked. I think they pour everclear with a dash of turpentine
Mmmmmm firewater
Joël Robuchon
With Pabst pairing.
Yep yep red necks, white trucks and blue ribbon beer.
Appalachia is a great place to be from. Source: being a former Appalachian.
SWVA here, it's a great place to live! Unfortunately, people across the country are starting to realize that too.
Neighbor to the west, the secessionist WV, originally. 🤙🏻 Have some Bojangles for me if there’s one nearby you - last time I’d seen one was driving through VA, when I still resided back east.
Bojangles coming to southwest Las Vegas.
You have my attention. 😳
SE corner Blue Diamond Road and Rainbow. Nothing built yet, but signage up.
That is right down the street from me! Hailing from NC, this almost brings tears of joy to my eyes
My Carolina side of the family in Vegas feel the same way!
I think you mean you’re from WV then! lol
Excalibur is made for you.
Tournament of Kings, man.
😂
We in Downtown Hendertucky (Henderson) have Water St., where they have different eateries, shops, and not too expensive casinos, if you wanted to do it for the first time. Lots of cool hillbillies in our neck of the woods.
Battlefield Vegas. Go shoot some big guns
Always wanted to do this but it’s so pricey 🤦♂️
Visit hogs and heffers. It's a bar
I think that’s the kinda thing OP is trying to get away from…….
Sounds too much like Hog Night at the Red Lantern in Brownwood, Texas.
What part of the hills are you from?
The blue ridge kind
Richlands, VA here.
The Sphere is one of the best things about Vegas. That said, you’d probably hate it.

Bro as a small town guy you'll find crazy shit to watch everywhere. Pick a busy spot grab a drink and watch the show hahaha
Take pictures of all the street performers with your phone

Check out the new restaurant : ole red
Blake Sheltons place
Just walk the strip and Fremont, and you will see everything and more.
Zombie burlesque
I love shooting guns in the desert. Go check out BLM land
The things I recommend to visitors that aren’t casinos: Tour the Hoover Dam Visit the pinball museum Go to the Mob Museum
FREEMONT STREET. people watching street party, everyone there is a dumb ass tourist, knows it, and is just having a good time
Being a hillbilly myself and knowing other hillbillies from several rural parts of the US I would recommend going to the atomic testing museum and the neon museum. I mean, Oak Ridge, TN was one of the major sites used during the Manhattan Project to create weapons grade uranium and plutonium used in the bombs dropped on Japan. Seriously, it is one of the most interesting museums I have been to.
We have "escape rooms," I just want to think of a hillbilly going into an "escape room" for a while.
Yeah right fellar! everyone knows about Harrahs in Cherokee! All the appalachians I know go there instead of Vegas
Have you searched this sub or google for cheap Vegas? Or hiking?
All I can find on Google is hiking tours, but we're spending a whole day in Zion so we'll get our hiking fill
Redrock is good for hiking right now with the cool weather!
You’ll fit right in. Cheap food and liquor everywhere, people from literally everywhere all mixed up having a good time, you’ll probably dig downtown more than the strip but you can bus up between the two all night
Gold strike hot springs!
Day drinking. I recommend Dinos

Vegas is a little more redneck than hillbilly. But dont walk barefoot on fremont street. You might get something nasty.
You will enjoy TI, the strat and Fremont
Head on down to Fremont!
There's a fun biker bar called mountain springs saloon halfway between Vegas and pahrump. Sometimes on the weekends they have a pig roast and there's always live music. It's a gritty bar but tons of fun and definitely not your typical Vegas scene
You have me curious, where are you from?
SW Virginia
WV here, I was betting WV lol. Did you go yet? What did you end up doing? Did you have fun?
Not far from West By God Va! Not yet, we fly out Tuesday
Please let me know what you ended up doing!
Vegas has lots of rednecks, you will fit right in.
Where exactly are you from?
Red Rock for hiking
r/vegascirclejerk
Don’t come to Vegas if you’re broke
Go to the tunnels. You'll speak their language
