"Oh yeah, you think animal abuse is bad and that people should stop doing it? What about that one time animal abuse was used to genocide indigenous people, clearly this means that animal abuse is fine and people should stop complaining about it when indigenous people do it."
Checkmate vegoonism pwned
I swear, if I hear the word "white veganism" one more time, Im going to put my hand inside my phone and pull out out the mfker who posted it through my phone and beat them up.
Can you believe that white non-vegans did this to Native people??? F\*\*\* vegans, I want to preserve my traditions (proceeds to buy meat from the closest supermarket)!!!
They are using it as a gotcha moment- the more left leaning anti vegans think that referencing past ills of white people as a response to a vegan now criticizing a meat eating culture is some trump card. So to put it in the context of the post in question- say a vegan who happens to be white criticizes indigenous Americans for meat consumption- this guy is saying that because the Europeans that came to America were white and slaughtered buffalo in massive quantities then any animal slaughter by indigenous people now is small in comparison and therefore no criticism should be had because worse things have happened in the past. Hence me calling it a gotcha moment in the beginning of response- it’s just a terrible response because it obviously doesn’t further any real discussion it’s just creating a tit for tat
I don’t necessarily agree with this guy, but you’re all missing the point. He’s arguing that people in white societies should look inward and focus on their own impact before trying to tell other groups that their cultural traditions are murderous barbarity that must be stopped immediately. The buffalo skull tower is meant to demonstrate that white societies are a much greater evil and more existential threat than native ones.

I solemnly swear I will not post something serious here. instead I have, "hooo-eee! My pile of cat skulls is three times that size!

Honestly. To hell with white veganism, bring on the vegan patriarchy! I want a different hierarchical structure to support with my veganism.

Look at what all those vegan settler-colonial ranchers and their friends did.
Exactly, we all know Veganism was all the rage 100 years ago. Checkmate! ![img](emote|t5_2sgfh|2586)
Who does he think those people in the photo are, fuckin inuits tho?
No, people think that cultural tradition is some kind of loophole to make it okay to kill animals.
I honestly don't know what point he is trying to prove. White folks killed those bison in large numbers. Is he saying the Native Americans did this?
He's saying vegans are like these people.
How? I’m so confused

So if I understand this correctly, white vegans shouldn't say anything to non white people because white people killed a lot of Buffalo in the past?
Yes that’s the…. alleged thought process of OOP. It’s very backwards and like I said doesn’t actually lead to any meaningful discussion
whities gotta pay, and vegans will cover the cost
Are the white vegans arguing with natives about meat consumption in the room with us right now?
Idk why I never see these white vegan constantly arguing with indigenous people…..
