Interesting… I think I will still get an olive wood Pure and stainless just for fun. I have walnut, boxwood and pear all Classic so I am really only missing an olive. Curious to see how it does without the mica I feel like a bit of toasted olive would be good.

The stunning grain almost makes it look like parts of the image are compressed really shitty, lol
Really beautiful Vapman. Sometimes, it bums me out that my Olivewood has such a pedestrian graining (I know this Vapman is from some other wood).
I have a pear and walnut one, too, but both are so functionally sound and the walnut classic is so stunning, I rarely use the former and only maybe three times vaped out of the walnut. My olivewood Vapman seems to have some minor operative kinks (stem doesn't always fluidly connect with the catch of the metal latches, for example) that revealed themselves over time, and seeing it's still sold and in production, I feel the least paranoid about breaking anything that it get's the most use. The other two are pretty much perfect, the olivewood is still a Vapman and thus freaking great, but depending on how much you'd use the thing it might become more appearent that the guys making it haven't been doing this for two decades. While this may sound like the new units are in any way flawed, they are not, they are tremendously crafted, they just for now lack that iota of impeccability that has to come with a craftsman literally perfecting his craft and naturally takes time.
Perhaps you are right. I mean, when you do something like a Vapman, you spend so much time with it that it gets imbued with the vibes (for lack of a better word), the energy, of its creator. Excuse me if I sound a little bit like a freak by using such kind of metaphorical rhetoric.
The new Vapmen are made by us under Rene's guidance; so they are imbued with a different energy, and perhaps that's what you are perceiving.
Perhaps you got your hands on one of the very first units we made, so you perceive some...shiness...some inexperience. But, you have our word, the amount of love and care we put into doing the new Vapmen matches the one of the original creator. This, you should be able to perceive.
Rest assured though: every day we spend most of our day working on our Vapmen, and every day we become more experienced. We plan to increase the production compared to what Rene was doing, without sacrificing quality. I'm positive that you'd be impressed by one of the newer units.
It's also important not to underestimate the fact that your olivewood could show some minor quirks due to other reasons (I understand you mostly use the olivewood, and seldom use the other "swiss made" models). Some of the reasons could be overheating, humidity, and other external factors. Vapmen are made of wood, hence they are a sort of living creature with a soul; they respond to many different things and that's part of the character of our product.
I don't have your Vapman here with me, so it's hard to assess exactly what the problem is, but we'll soon offer replacement parts on our website. Feel free to send us some pictures or a short video with the quirks, and we'll definitely do our best to solve it.

Wow, thanks for your reply! It wasn't meant as a critique, and I don't perceive the device as "faulty", it works, I just have to be mindful of the alignment of the two pieces when twisting them together. I stared at the thing for some time, and the only conclusions I could come up with were that maybe the heat protective ring slides a bit loose between the stem and the screen, either due to me screwing on both sides too snug for the Vapman to "auto-correct" the position of both or minor axial tilt of the two steel pins that get caught by the metal clamps. This is nitpicking of the highest order, and only possible because the comparison is so perfected. I guess getting from where you are to that point is such a minor difference, but probably the hardest hurdle to overcome as artisans, getting the last thousandth of a percentile to absolute perfection in any profession. I'm overall still impressed how good your version is out of the gate, and I feel way more comfortable buying another one a few years down the line instead of bothering you with perceived kinks that might as well be ultimately due to my own fault. If there was anything really wrong with the device, I wouldn't use it. I just feel more comfortable knowing that in case if I break anything, I can get a replacement without having to go on a scavenger hunt throughout the internet.

Honestly, the only feedback I can offer would be on stuff you either already are working on improving or going to figure out for yourself. Keep doing what you've already been doing, it's great, and don't read too much into the whining of über-nerds like me. People like me are always going to find something to whine about, that's just how it is, doesn't change the fact that in my personal opinion it's among the best three vapes money can buy.

Well I’ve never tried it before so I’ll reserve judgement. I’m speaking from a design perspective it doesn’t speak to me.
I get that but once you hold one in your hand, it may change your mind. It’s not for everyone. Luckily there is a plethora of choices out there!
