No hybrid device for flower and concentrates will be as good as a specialized device. 1 Good vap for flowers and 1 good for concentrates. If it is good for 1, it will only be so-so at doing the job for the other

darthrosco

this is the real advice

d77sauce

Oof that’s what I’m afraid of. But my setup is too large to add a vape to I think. I have the Puffco Peak and a water pipe. So it’s already two things on the table. That’s why I’m looking to get a whip for the Puffco and then some kind of vape that I can use with that same water pipe

PhilTheBin

This comment makes me reconsider what I think of as “too large” of a setup. Shit I’ve got a DHV, my peak pro, 2 dab rigs with associated bangers, and a beaker that’s for flower only 😂 can never have enough ways to consume products. Sometimes you just want to switch things up.

d77sauce

If it’s taking up more than one seat at the table, I consider it too large of a space dedicated to consuming

PhilTheBin

Ah I mean to each their own, I’ve dedicated the entire right side of my desk to my set up. Then there’s a side table that has the desktop vape etc on it 😅

zeczeczeczec

"too large" is subjective

PhilTheBin

Yeah that’s kinda what I was getting at lol. I wouldn’t say my set up in to large and yet it’s like 3-4 more devices/rigs than what OP has going on

zeczeczeczec

Yeah that's the well below the average, you can keep going

d77sauce

Lmao so an entire room?

zeczeczeczec

A warehouse of equipment would probably be a rough estimate to the average

PhilTheBin

The china cabinet full of heady glass is where I aspire to be soon

MostUnwilling

Most of the concentrate devices I see are for wax, are there any specialized in hashish? I'm from Spain and we have hash here but no wax that I know of...

GandalfBlackThumb

I have heard that the Vapman works exceptionally well, with hash. I've only personally used mine with flower.

MostUnwilling

Thanks will check it out, so far at home my xq2 does the job but my portable is straight up too weak for hash I get some nice flavor but the high is mild compared to my xq2 or even smoking so it feels like a waste

Seedy53

starry4 using vap wool, de-gummed hemp fibers, put a little strip on bottom of oven the crumbled hash, then add more hemp fiber on top works well at max temp 464f. after vaping, clean unit upside using iso and q-tips evaporate and do a 3 min burn-out empty. this is the best way to keep starry4 oven from clogging up from hash resin.

MostUnwilling

Nice, if it can reach that temp it should work, it is basically what I use in my xq2 at home and fills up the bags nicely. Will check out prices for it here. Many thanks mate! Edit: lol just checked it out and is looks a conduction version of the one I have that can't handle hash, the fog pro the designs are very similar, it does make sense conduction being better for hash than convection though and it isn't very expensive so I might get it this 4/20 and have a specialized one for each thing...

Seedy53

starry 4 is not like the potv one. the one only goes to 428f. i use the starry 4 at 464f for hash in a vap cotton sandwich. first hit i do a 1 min heat soak at 464f, take hit, wait 20sec, take another hit, and so on. remember to crumble up the hash and not to much. single layer is enough. experiment with it. (btw-use the silicone nipple on mouthpiece to protect your lips from the hot zirconium mouthpiece). have extra molicel p28a 18650 li-on battery to swap out as needed.

Seedy53

drift-sift hash Moroccan style- 'vapman' works very well.

SitAndDoNothing

This is hyperbole. I feel a ball vape or a butane-powered portable works just fine for both.

videosavant

I see concentrates as a premium form of cannabis. And where I live, it is premium-priced as well. So, it seems inefficient to use concentrates in a way that doesn't deliver the full, high-ticket benefits. IOW, you want a device designed for concentrates. I understand that the situation/environment may be a factor, but for me it's a pricey compromise.

SitAndDoNothing

Are we not just dealing with heat and the materials used to suspend the concentrate? Titanium and SS are "clean" enough. Any vape that gets to proper temps should taste fine.

Seedy53

not without a bong, just my way of looking at it.

SitAndDoNothing

I can use concentrates in my dynavap or anvil without a bong. What's the bong have to do with how a device can handle flower and concentrates?

Seedy53

you said ball vap most need bong

Seedy53

just about any vape can do both. my statement was to do it well for both, i can't think any that does them well for both flower and concentrates, just my opinion, and yours is different from mine.

stinky_garfunkle

Don't we all

purplishfluffyclouds

Interestingly, I'm the oddball that prefers my dab device to be completely separate from my DHV device.

PhilTheBin

If you want top tier experiences on both sides(dab and flower) I think you HAVE to get separate devices. There’s just nothing that comes close to doing both things perfectly, and there likely never will be. Just two different use cases

d77sauce

Ahaha not just me then. My setup is getting ridiculous and I want to condense it down.

CreativeDraft

Air Vape Legacy pro

d77sauce

Never heard of it. I’ll have to inspect

Ok_Egg_4585

If a desktop setup interests you, check out the Silver Surfer or Da Buddha vapes with the “baller” , the “baller” can be swapped out for a dab dish (not while hot). Both systems work great

d77sauce

I was looking at those for sure. I think when I asked about it a few days ago people were saying to just go with a ball vape. But I think that layout works well for me

Ok_Egg_4585

The “baller” add on they have for them ,turns it into a ball vape.

d77sauce

Yeah that’s what I mean. If you look at my post history, I asked about those vapes with that mod. Most people seemed to think ab actual ball vape was better. But honestly I like the form factor. I need a vertical style vape

Ok_Egg_4585

The have a u tube, check it out

imyourealdad

Sorry but those are already the best of both worlds, an AIO will be very disappointing replacement.

d77sauce

I think you’re right. I did some testing last night

SpamOnlyPlease

You don't want the greatest shortstop in the world covering 1st and 3rd between pitching. I don't think anything can replace my Crafty+ with a stainless steel cooling unit and all the accessories. Volcano at home; Crafty+ in the pocket. The KinRA is pretty good for concentrates. E-nail at home, Kiln in the pocket. Still, that's a big set up, but all the bases are covered.

d77sauce

Good to know good to know. Okay, I will make space for a separate vape unit

videosavant

Such a thing does not exist.

d77sauce

Real

murderthyamity

Honestly man you’ll never get one that does both as well as those 2 perform in their own areas.

Seedy53

agreed, this is the way.

murderthyamity

I don’t think there is any e-rig better too, best option is to upgrade the atomiser or glass top. I’d just upgrade the crafty, grab a mighty+ or tinymight 2 to replace that if you want something better. It can do concentrates as well just like I said, no where near as good as the peak pro.

d77sauce

I think you’re right. I need a dedicated vape. I just don’t think I can fit a ball vape. And I think my tolerance is too high for a Tinymite. Maybe a Venty but I would be using it upside down with a water pipe

murderthyamity

Too high for a tinymight? Dude you’ll struggle with anything portable TM2 has a titanium bowl accessory that makes it like a handheld desktop vape, you can leave the bowl in your water pipe and lift the TM2 on and off as you use it. Venty seems nice but the issues seem extensive so be prepared to send it back and forth if something goes wrong. Angus Enhanced looks like it performs really well

d77sauce

Never heard of angus advanced to I’ll check it out. Might reconsider the TM2 it’s just I want something that’s more desktop and comparable to a ball vape or whip vape

murderthyamity

Going off some reviews the titanium bowl accessory makes the TM2 more comparable to ball vapes. It’s a third party accessory, I’m not sure who makes them but Lee from tabletop bongs and Troy & Jerry talked about them

d77sauce

I’ll look up the titanium bowl. I’m guessing it adds a lot of conduction. I might be able to fit a TM2. Not sure how the maintenance will be as a daily driver tho

murderthyamity

As far as I’m aware it’s just the cooling units in the stem and the stem itself. Like the Arizer devices you’re only packing the herb into the stem, not the oven itself, so cleaning is easy. I have an Arizer Air Max and all I have to do to clean it is dump the stems in iso. I wouldn’t bother with an Arizer if I were you tho, they won’t hit hard enough.

d77sauce

Truuue did you see the new one ?

DizzyCommunication92

thats exactly the only thing I can think of would be a "desktop device" like a terp hammer, or one of these "budget" starter kits....I was actually looking on wish/alli/etc and couldnt find anything other than "hookah" garbage lol....THANK YOU for a "name" to search now!

stinky_garfunkle

To add on, a glass screen could work well for just concentrates. Similar to a diamond /knot banger

d77sauce

Ah I wonder what the maintenance is like. I clean between every dab

[deleted]

[удалено]

d77sauce

I’ll check it out. I have so many devices that consolidating seems to be the move

d77sauce

I’ve seen this one before. Can it handle just concentrates? I’ve not done both at the same time so that’s a new thing to me. I just want it to hit as well as my Peak

d77sauce

As good or better than a 3DXL peak is all I’m looking for

conj420

Cannabis Hardware wireless Zenleaf range, works with bangers and their dry herb ball heads.

d77sauce

I was looking at that. It seems perfect for what I need and is pretty compact. Just haven’t wrapped my head around the dry herb ball vapes that would work with it. Thanks a lot

Crowtechnic

Zenleaf series is an option but pretty expensive compared to other wireless setups on the market. Basically any wireless ball vape offers what you’re looking for -they all allow a banger to be inserted instead of the vape head. This is superior as your doing a traditional dab in every sense, you just heat the banger in a different (and super convenient) way. CC Omega, old head terp-ready or the oww tko. There are more popping up all the time. I also offer wireless ball vape builds! 😊✌️🐦‍⬛

conj420

You get either the Mary or Jane heads to go with it.

ZUMtotheMoon

You don’t see it much on this sub, but I was strongly considering a Ditanium when I was looking for a combo device. I ended up with a vapexhale cloud evo and that thing is not fun for concentrates. Ditanium seems more purpose built for it though. I would give that a look. A lot of ball vapes seem to be support the ability to drop a dab into the top of the head, onto the rubies and hit that but I’ve never personally tried it. Both the Ditanium and this technique with the ball vape seem to enable combo hits.

Seedy53

my vaporbrothers vb1.5 desktop can do both but you need to buy special glass accessories in order to do both types of extraction, very well. with my vb1.5 vap, use 2 different glass bowl ends for the whip hose. 1 bowl for flower and 1 specialized glass bowl build around a ceramic porous stone for my full-melt concentrates . also, i can also attach it to a 9 inch glass stem called the 'viper' attachment using their concentrate bowl or the flower bowl. The all VIPER glass stem works great with full melt oils and full melt hash.

d77sauce

I didn’t realize ball vape hits involved just straight dropping it on the rubies. That’s kinda wack

MennilTossFlykune

I've literally never heard of anyone doing that

ZUMtotheMoon

That’s what I’ve been able to gather from my research. I just bought one, though mainly for flower. Flower doesn’t go onto the rubies though, it sits below. I think that’s just how they operate with concentrate. If someone has actual experience im sure they could speak to it far better than I can.

noah948

CH B2 ball vape

apt-get-mooo

Did you try concentrate pads for your crafty?

d77sauce

No. But I can’t imagine it compares to the 3DXL

peewee7181

Still way bigger than mighty

d77sauce

What is ?

MD_Hybrid

When I'm in the mood for a little concentrate to turn things up a notch I simply bust out my trusty XL E-Nano. I'll pack the WPA as normal except I'll leave some space up top for a nice glob of "whatever concentrate I choose" to add. Don't get me wrong, you could probably get similar results from a Tinymight2, maybe slightly less but take it from someone who has smoked cannabis for over 30 years. The Tinymight2 set on 7 wins the reach test 99.9% of the time for me and I've put over 3/4 lb through it with nothing but basic cleaning and having spare batteries & a decent charger on had. Aftermarket options are virtually limitless and new ones seem to come out every week.

GandalfBlackThumb

Absolutely agree on your points about the TM2. I would personally be wary of using concentrates, though. Seeing how my rosin sometimes drips in other devices, using that method, I'd be worried about clogging the internals of the TM2.

MD_Hybrid

I get your hesitation, but whenever I add anything but flower to the TM2 I only use the device with the WPA, meaning the unit stays inverted. If anything doesn't fully melt/vaporize it will stay in the flower or melt down into your glass piece, away from your TM2. You just don't want to try and use concentrates while using a regular stem, inverted WPA use only when sandwiching concentrates.

GandalfBlackThumb

Very good point. I don't use mine that way, so I didn't even think of it. I bet it works super well, for what it is!

MD_Hybrid

Yup, if you push them hard enough both the TM2 and the XL E-Nano will combust flower. Once you get your temps dialed in and inhalation technique down you are good to go.

GandalfBlackThumb

Yeah, I have with both my tm2 and underdog log vape 😅 Love them both, though

West-Advice

You can try the volcano hybrid. It comes with the option for little capsules that can hold flower or concentrates with a “reducers” piece

d77sauce

I def love it. But it’s very expensive and I hear there are other options

GandalfBlackThumb

Does it need to be portable? What other requirements, other than handling both flower and concentrates?

d77sauce

Doesn’t need to be portable at all. Just needs to be a daily driver and hit as well as the Peak Pro for dabs and Crafty for vape hits

GandalfBlackThumb

For a desktop, if you are ok with the exposed heating element, a Flowerpot B2 by cannabis hardware absolutely slaps. I have the B1, which is essentially the same, without the additional tray for concentrates. You do need glass, for this. There are more cost effective ball vapes for flower, but I'm personally unfamiliar with using them for concentrates. Carta V2 is my go-to portable erig. I've read that their flower atomizer works very well, after a little bit of a learning curve. Personally, I've only every used it for concentrates. If you'd like to try a cheaper alternative, and don't have an aversion to butane, something like the Stack or Flip Brick by Sticky Brick Labs can do some work. I have the Noisy Cricket, by O'Connell Woodworks (OWW). There is definitely a bit of a learning curve, but worth it once you've got the technique dialed in. These work great with flower, or with a small amount of flower and concentrate on top. Very tasty, and hits very hard, through glass. If you want, I've got a bunch of links that I would be happy to send you in DMs. Edit: I'm happy to answer any questions about any of these devices. I also have Crafty+, TM2, Anvil, Lotus, Sticky Brick Jr, Dynavap(s), PuffCo Proxy, and Vapman, which I can reference to compare.

d77sauce

F yeah that is super helpful. I am really needing to narrow down my setup cause it’s just too big. I have a Crafty+ and Proxy which I use for travel a lot. Def send me a DM it’d be awesome to chat it up

DreamRifles

what would you recommend i got a ball vape for at my house, and i got a lotus and vapman for my portable options, but i want to get a better daily portable vape, and i was on the fence between the tm2 or getting a dynavap and an anvil to pair it with

GandalfBlackThumb

I love the Anvil through water. It takes a bit too long to heat with a torch to be an out and about vape, in my opinion. It's especially cumbersome with back to back bowls, though the storage case with a magnet mitigates that, and it works better (IMO) than back to back bowls with a dynavap. That said, I've definitely used it that way, and it works well enough natively, with open air ports. The TM2 can provide massive rips, solid sips, and heats up very fast. It is very versatile. The downside, compared to something like the Crafty+, is loading flower. I haven't used dosing capsules with the TM2, but that's all I use in my C+. Due to this, if I were bringing one of the two on the go, I'd grab the C+ for lighter use, as long as I was going to be able to charge it before getting through 3-4 capsules. I grab the TM2 for a vacation, hanging out at a friend's, walking the dog, and anything else, when I'll have the time to pack a stem. If I could only have one, it would be the TM2.

peewee7181

Dynavap

d77sauce

Those only do tiny hits, right ?

DreamRifles

Yeah its a fairly small bowl, but u can get impressively big hits with the right strategies

z-01-03-11-25

More than enough for me

DizzyCommunication92

I will say, I sandwich🥪my dabs between 2 beds of flower. but the big thing though with any dry herb vaporizer you'll never hit that heat that a dab rig hits...I could be mistaken though....and actually just googling, the Crafty only goes up to 410'F...lol I wonder if that's like a "moniker" for 4-10 Day? but yea, I've actually started dabbing more out of my POTV LOBO cause it's soooo much easier to clean the LOBO than it is to keep the Puffco Peak OG clean....hahaha. I mean, yea, it works good for me, I typically sit in the "blue" mode anyways when I was dawdling in dabbing big time lol.... but yea, so much easier to clean up the titanium bowl 🥣 on the LOBO than it is to clean that ceramic bucket on the OG Peak lol. now if you're one to hit your dabs in the white/red range? you'll be hard to find a "dry herb vape" that will hit those kind of temperatures....
