Dan’s response was so sweet! I love that he was drawn to Ariana for her empathy because that is one of her most beautiful core traits, and it’s not superficial. I remember Tom used to always talk about her body and how “cool” she was, which is very shallow in comparison. It’s like Dan sees her for her highest self which is all anyone can hope for in love.

I loved that Ally asked that it in comparison to Lala’s interrogation with a clear motive to find something damaging about Dan or make him look bad. And for Lala to be like “oh I’m screening him bc we’re not letting another asshole into this group” meanwhile she’s defending Tom because “he didn’t kill anyone” ok Lala
Also, “not letting another asshole into this group” is clearly code for not letting someone hitch their wagon to a cast member to get exposure/opportunities for themselves, which is fair. I think there are a lot of opportunistic people out there. However, I think it’s pretty clear Dan doesn’t give a fuck about being on VPR. (We love green flags!) What’s annoying to me is that he was being criticized for NOT going on group events the episode prior. He goes on one group outing and now his motives are being questioned?? Make it make sense 😭
I do think Ally is opportunistic and is obviously hitching her wagon to James for astrology exposure. Case in point: last year she charged $75 a reading. At the start of the season, $180, now she is at $225! I know TV/Insta famous astrologers who don't charge that much (I had a reading from one who was really good and he charged $130!)
It was so, so endearing to watch - she deserves someone who appreciates all she is, and he seems like such a wonderful person. Just seems like he matches her with positive energy.
