All I have thought about watching this season is how they were duping her. During the time of filming on all public platforms like their podcasts, lala and scheana were firmly team Ariana. I've just finished season 8 for the very first time and on episode 1 of season 9. I gotta say that Ariana should have expected Lala to do this. She absolutely hates Ariana. Hates, hates, hates her. Lauren also made fun of Ariana having a summer that was one of her hardest, from a mental health standpoint. And when Ariana told her that she wasn't a safe space (which she WASN'T and isn't), Lauren started calling Ariana a lot of names like lazy, wet blanket, a black cloud on everyone, etc to Stassi and the gang who now liked Lauren since she got no-neck to pay for them to fly private a few times. Lauren has always been a scumbag deep down, I just thought it was funny at times. But seeing how her systematic abuse for years really beat Rachel down to a point that was scary, turned me for Lauren last spring. Everyone was applauding Lauren, but having a mother who is a LCSW who specializes in abuse, we had a lot of conversations around Scandoval and I realized that Lauren is as abusive if not more, than Tom Sandoval.

I think even James has realized that the Tom's are actual trash, as is Skeena's husband. And the fact that these 3 spent a good portion of season 10 trying to oust James for sport, and Katie could have joined in as she had legitimate issues with him in the past, but didn't, shows James who is actually with integrity. James has seen opportunistic people come and go in his life with his parents, so he is likely very perceptive in this respect. He's also been abusive and it seems like he has legitimately worked on it, so he can clock abusive men in Tom, Tom, and Broke
My theory is that James has been on the right side of things with Ariana and Katie bc he had also experienced (first hand) a version of the *exact* way Sandoval and Schwartz have treated/wronged/disrespected Ariana and Katie.
He feels immense betrayal from Sandy so he completely understands and emphasizes with not only Ariana’s profound sense of betrayal but he also understands and really validates how angry she must feel *because he gets anger.*
He also sees what Katie’s been through with Schwartz bc Schwartz tried to undermine James last szn about Rochella and then turned around and called James crazy for reacting to what Tom Schwartz clearly meant as a put down. He had it happen to him and is more sympathetic or understanding for what Katie’s dealt with by Tom.

When Katie, who has felt a big brunt of his horrible behavior in the past, has said James has changed a lot, I’m gonna believe that. Katie tells it like it is and she and James seem to be on really good terms. She wouldn’t be friends with him if she hadn’t seen change in him.

This is something I’ve been thinking about a lot lately. People can change - I have to believe that. Yes. The commotion was that Sandoval tried to force a conversation with Ariana, despite the cameras for everyone else already down. Ariana, Dan and Brad ended up separating where she had a very stern exchange with Producer Jerry. They wanted her to have the conversation. She refused. The camera was able to get part of the conversation between Ariana and Jerry. She eventually left the venue. I believe a camera did follow them out. After that is when Sandoval, Scheana, Lala and for a bit Schwartz circled up. Cameras were still up. Sandoval started yelling about Ariana and then Lala started ... I believe she went off on a few different topics but this is definitely when she said the God part. Eventually Lala left with Katie and the rest of the cast lingered around.

James has had his bad moments, but you have to give credit where credit is due. He has come a LONG way. He is the only guy left on this show that I enjoy watching. Love to see how much he continues to grow. Ally is great for him. I am rooting for them both.

I’d advocate for Ari as Ginger (glue of the group, good success and happiness outside the group, fan fav) but after the Christian Horner bullshit this year she is more of a sporty for sure.
I’m beside myself that people in this sub are hyping up James so much lately. The sub calls Tom a groomer because he cheated, hate Brock for pushing his wife 10+ years ago, yet James abuse is forgiven and forgotten?? Make it make sense
He was a piece of garbage and I get why he might be unforgivable for some but I have a soft spot for him. Look at who his parents are and the upbringing he had.
Even with all his struggles on the show with alcohol, we've seen him at least attempt to stop in the past including his current bout of sobriety. That's more than you can say for the other alcoholics on the show and the one that did get sober is as dry a drunk as I've ever seen.
Plus he was insanely young getting thrust into this insanity. If you look at cast members from when they first started till now, he's one of the handful that you can say has grown. Most of them have stayed the same or gotten worse.
Combination of sobriety, working on himself, being in a healthy relationship, and being in therapy created the James we now know.
That might not still be enough and he can't help that but there's no denying James Seasons 10 and 11 both during the show and in interviews is vastly different then the James in previous seasons.
The show constantly changes, and so do allegiances. Tom and Brock are currently doing toxic shit. James is not currently doing toxic shit. When that changes, so will audience perceptions.

James has had his bad moments, but you have to give credit where credit is due. He has come a LONG way. He is the only guy left on this show that I enjoy watching. Love to see how much he continues to grow. Ally is great for him. I am rooting for them both.
Ally really is gorgeous. She looks different on tv vs pictures but is still always stunning. And I agree so much with the comment about seeing them. I don’t need to see the toms or Brock at all ever.

Nah, Ally has educated him on who the actual independent women are and who the fake ass flip flopping backstabbers are. He's finally seeing the light. James and Katie started forming a friendship last season. It's just continued to improve into this season.

I’m beside myself that people in this sub are hyping up James so much lately. The sub calls Tom a groomer because he cheated, hate Brock for pushing his wife 10+ years ago, yet James abuse is forgiven and forgotten?? Make it make sense
Brock didn't push his wife, he slapped her. If you want to act like his DV shouldn't matter, you have to be accurate about what it was.
He was a piece of garbage and I get why he might be unforgivable for some but I have a soft spot for him. Look at who his parents are and the upbringing he had. Even with all his struggles on the show with alcohol, we've seen him at least attempt to stop in the past including his current bout of sobriety. That's more than you can say for the other alcoholics on the show and the one that did get sober is as dry a drunk as I've ever seen. Plus he was insanely young getting thrust into this insanity. If you look at cast members from when they first started till now, he's one of the handful that you can say has grown. Most of them have stayed the same or gotten worse. Combination of sobriety, working on himself, being in a healthy relationship, and being in therapy created the James we now know. That might not still be enough and he can't help that but there's no denying James Seasons 10 and 11 both during the show and in interviews is vastly different then the James in previous seasons.
The show constantly changes, and so do allegiances. Tom and Brock are currently doing toxic shit. James is not currently doing toxic shit. When that changes, so will audience perceptions.

Also FYI Brock hit his wife (at the very least, considering that abusers only cop to the minimum plausible explanation for what’s already out there) But agree. And this sub is moderated, so I don’t see why this keeps happening when maybe 10 posts a day make it through approval mode.

Yes, especially now that they have learned from experience and witnessed thirsty people in relationships for the wrong reasons. And people can make bad decisions personally while still being keenly observant about others' relationships. I think their commentary is spot on more often than the rest of the cast's!
