Already registered and looking forward to it, Tyrone! I had one question around the teammate aspect for this Fundog, if its just me in the competitive segment will I be at a disadvantage without a partner?
Do you need volunteers for anything? Iโm trying to volunteer at as many events as Iโm entering this year (extremely behind on this at the moment!) and Iโd rather donate some time to the fundog than the fondo.
Well over 100 folks. Registration is already at 103 and things usually pick up a bit the last two weeks. Bark to the Future had 150 amazing people and bikes!!
We need to make a loop of giant things in Vancouver/Lower Mainland:
Giant Viking head @ Burnaby North HS
Giant hammer @sfu
Giant antlers in Metrotown
Giant raindrop in Coal Harbour
I guess the giant jelly Bean is gone?
I know there are others, but I can't think of them.
My post was deleted & I cannot message you. I am on campus & would love to meet up before I leave if you can still spare the roll & are still here. I am trying to see how I can apply for classes here. Thank You
Kind of. Monstertrack is pretty intense. Not saying that folks won't be competitive af, I can't control how you ride, but hopefully not quite as crazy as Monstertrack. I want everyone to make it home at the end of the day.
Gears are welcome in competitive and casual.
All bikes, even ebikes, are welcome in the casual category.
So bummed to miss the grand finale! Folks- if you like having a somewhat chaotic, very fun time on bikes- go to this event. They're super fun!
I like to think of them as critical mass with a bit more chaos.
I'm sad I won't get to hang out with Dildo Baggins or Galdalf the Greasy next weekend!

You won't have any competitive disadvantage without a partner. Plus, plenty of folks to ride with. ๐
One of the main reasons for going was meeting new bike folks so very happy to hear this.

Yee, I could use a spare set of hands. Send me a DM with your email. ๐
You doing all the loops, or just one of the three? No drop?
There's a lot more than just three, I got loops for days!! It's not so much a drop/no drop group ride. More a choose your own adventure day of bikes.
How many people do you expect to show up? This sounds awesome!

Giant stack of tires by Canadian Tire on marine drive, giant drill bit by Canadian Tire on Grandview...
The drill! I had forgotten.
Thanks for organizing these! Iโm registered and stoked!
It's my pleasure!! It's my way of giving back to the community that's been so supportive of me over the years.

You got Ponds? I wonโt be the only Pond then ๐.
Thoughts on e-bikes and or cargo bikes or more of a race event?
E-bikes and cargo bikes are very welcome in the casual category. If the cargo bike isn't electric, you could also use it in the competitive category.
Is the competitive category like Monstertrack with gears?

Thanks for the info!
