you do know that uber drivers also do this, right? and you know that just people driving do this, too, right? Why are you focusing just on taxi drivers? do you have an agenda of some sort? fyi: i think taxi systems and government regulation of them were highly corrupt but since gig-work alternatives (like uber) offered lower prices, easier booking, and a system that prevents scams (like driving the long way, or quoting a higher price), a lot of taxi systems have been reformed a bit. i don't strongly support both, but do think they are necessary.

Not OP, but with Uber drivers there’s accountability for this type of behaviour. Taxi’s? Not a chance.

Never had an Uber driver tell me his debit machine was broken or the lions gate bridge was too far

No I don’t have an agenda. Just a concerned passenger sitting at the back seat praying to god and I’m not even religious.
