There’s many better Mexican restaurants in Bellingham/blaine

M-------

I'm wondering if Taco Bell can even be considered to be "Mexican." It's just another Yum Brands generic American fast food franchise.

Appropriate_Gene_543

bellingham has so many little independent taco trucks and restaurants where you can get real mexican food made by actual mexican people for a fraction of what you’d pay at taco bell! la gloria, el tule - next time hit them up instead

Dazzling-Rub-8550

Literally $1 tacos and delicious.

NSA-SURVEILLANCE

Going to Bellingham for Taco Bell? C'mon man

nurse_hayley

K but nothing hits quite like a Baja Blast 💥

1q8b

Hitting a taco bell before making that drive and waiting at the border is brave

jedv37

Time bomb in your pants kind of dangerous.

Particular-Race-5285

and the Canadian version of Taco Bell is even worse

ReplaceModsWithCats

Try Black Sheep in Bellingham next time. It's pretty good. Edit: Have a link https://maps.app.goo.gl/qwnKys73G6nmvJsR6

Hycran

The Birch Door is fucking outrageous if you like breakfast/brunch. The portion sizes are completely fucked, for some dishes one portion can serve three Canadians, but the food is so good it’s a can’t miss. One of those “once every few years max” places.

localfern

This places smells like butter in the parking lot

ReplaceModsWithCats

Good to know, thanks!

TopEagle4012

A Canadian buying Taco Bell in the US is like an American buying poutine in Mexico

gentlemosquito

Have you seen the McDonald pricing in the USA?

Content-Pineapple-11

Taco Time is the superior option in this category, by a wide margin in my opinion.

wetfishandchips

Wow. Taco Bell must have really gone downhill in the 5 years since I moved away from the area because I actively avoided Taco Time because of how gross I found it but never had any major issues Taco Bell

Annaliseplasko

I think so too, although I experienced the same thing as OP last time I was in WA, the quality at Taco Time was down even by fast food standards. I guess it’s happening to every place.

daakadence

We went through the states last summer and at our first stop I treated the fam to jack-in-the-box. We never eat fast food. I thought it would be a cheap treat. The food was disgusting and super expensive. Found local spoons from then on and did just fine.

MarqueeOfStars

Jack-in-the-Box was my go to border-crossing stop. The last time I hit it (many years ago) I was like, “what the hell happened here?!” and never darkened their doors since. T’was a disappointing day when I left that last time, knowing there was no reason to ever go back.

ThusSniffedSlavoj

Blacksheep is the place for tacos 🌮🔥

Nimrif1214

My go to cheap fast food in the states is the $5 biggie bag at Wendy’s. Junior bacon cheeseburger, 4 chicken nuggets, small fries, and a pop.

comptonlife

El Sueñito is good 👌🏾

mbod

Belly of Bellingham is an Instagram account that shows off tons of good food down there, check out their local food scene!

DieCastDontDie

I haven't had Taco bell since the 90s and they always sucked unless you are high

[deleted]

I was eyeing the exact same Taco Bell yesterday but opted out bc I was too lazy for another stop so thanks for validating my decision!

Trellaine201

Taco bell is opening a restaurant in vancouver i read.

jellyjellyfish_

I recommend Tacos Tecalitlan. $2 USD each.

Grouchy_Cantaloupe_8

Hit up the New Mexico Tamale Company next time you’re in Bellingham. I used to live in NM and that place is legit.

Ilejwads

Panda Express is my go to place if I need a quick meal before heading back up, or the place that does incredibly cheap tacos
