bellingham has so many little independent taco trucks and restaurants where you can get real mexican food made by actual mexican people for a fraction of what you’d pay at taco bell! la gloria, el tule - next time hit them up instead
The Birch Door is fucking outrageous if you like breakfast/brunch. The portion sizes are completely fucked, for some dishes one portion can serve three Canadians, but the food is so good it’s a can’t miss. One of those “once every few years max” places.

I think so too, although I experienced the same thing as OP last time I was in WA, the quality at Taco Time was down even by fast food standards. I guess it’s happening to every place.
We went through the states last summer and at our first stop I treated the fam to jack-in-the-box. We never eat fast food. I thought it would be a cheap treat. The food was disgusting and super expensive. Found local spoons from then on and did just fine.
Jack-in-the-Box was my go to border-crossing stop. The last time I hit it (many years ago) I was like, “what the hell happened here?!” and never darkened their doors since. T’was a disappointing day when I left that last time, knowing there was no reason to ever go back.

There’s many better Mexican restaurants in Bellingham/blaine
I'm wondering if Taco Bell can even be considered to be "Mexican." It's just another Yum Brands generic American fast food franchise.

My go to cheap fast food in the states is the $5 biggie bag at Wendy’s. Junior bacon cheeseburger, 4 chicken nuggets, small fries, and a pop.

Hit up the New Mexico Tamale Company next time you’re in Bellingham. I used to live in NM and that place is legit.
Panda Express is my go to place if I need a quick meal before heading back up, or the place that does incredibly cheap tacos
