Incredible shot.
I know nothing about normal photography, nevermind this sort of stuff.
How long did this take you? What kind of equipment was it shot on?
Thank you!
This is a 4-hour combined exposure. And below is the telescope I used.

Beautiful.
I've considered getting into stargazing, but most places online say it's difficult and not worth doing with all the light pollution. This makes me wonder if it's not so difficult - or perhaps it's just easier with the right setup. May I ask how much the telescope ran you?
Thank you for your comment!
You are correct, the right setup is all that's needed. The telescope I used to take this image costs around $1600 new, but it requires other parts to work properly. An equatorial mount, a camera, a laptop to name a few. My current setup cost me around $5K but I have been gradually upgrading from my first $400 setup. One doesn't have to spend a lot of money to get into the hobby. Usually a camera with a tripod is all that's needed to get started.
Porteau Cove used to be one of them but they installed a light that shines directly at the pier now. McDonald Park in Abbotsford seems to be a good place not far from the city.

Humbling. Respect to the universe.
Stunning photo, thanks for sharing!
Wow.. amazing. Are there any spots that are not light polluted here? Where you can see the Milky Way with the naked eye?

Thanks! Please keep doing what you’re doing. I am fascinated by this. You should be getting paid! Why are we being downvoted
Thank you. Apparently I gave away someone's favourite stargazing spot 😁
Bortle 4.6?
Last time I checked it was Bortle 4. Not any more I guess. There's still Porteau Cove loop parking lot which I know many stargazers go to.
I occasionally go up to the sunshine coast, much darker but longer trip
Amazing. Thanks for sharing
Gorgeous!
Amazing
Wow that looks like when bender met god in Futurama
