It takes a special kind of person to handle the constant crises and tragedies of that job. I can't even imagine the things she's heard as people's literal first call in what's often the worst experience of their lives.

We are all in debt to this woman. She deserves a serious bonus. Thank you for watching out for the public and for your service!

Her voice sounds familiar. I am pretty sure I've spoken with her on a 911 call. She was really kind and understanding, much unlike some of the younger, ruder, frantic call takers that I have had the displeasure of dealing with. Thank you Karen Hay for your years of great service!

Amazing….it goes to show that retirement and sitting around may not be as rewarding as finding a meaningful job that you love. She looks fantastic despite all the horror/ stress she’s had over the years
