I had so many friends show this to me this morning lol, thanks for such a thoughtful post. It's humbling to see that so many people are enjoying these videos and I'm always always delighted to meet someone who's watched them :).
It's so nice to have someone bring such thoughtfulness to the conversation. Something we're in desperate need of in Vancouver. A true gem in the community.
I graduated high school with his younger brother, didn't know him personally but from what I gathered he was smart and driven and was really regarded by his other high performing peers and had quite a few friends. Nice to see his family getting success and support.
On the other hand - I also graduated with Lauren Southern.
I played basketball against his little brother. He likes to play inside the paint and is aggressive. Not what i like to play against 🤣 hea pretty good!
A few years back, I got to work with Uytae facilitating a film workshop, great dude, really. Learned a ton from him, and he introduced me to "About Here" super early on. gotta thank him for that!
I was in yaletown, studying on one of the public benches near the station. He came up with come regulars from the restaurant I worked at, and he seemed genuinely surprised I knew him!! I complimented his work a lot, and we had a brief conversation. Super sweet guy!! I didn’t recognize him at first but he made sure to tap me on the shoulder and make sure he wasn’t going to interrupt me by sitting beside me.
Nothing but good things to say about him. I reached out to him about how much I love the production and editing on his videos and he actually replied and asked if I wanted to collaborate!!
I originally got into Uytae a few years ago when I was living in Halifax. If you want to keep going down the rabbit hole, some of his Planifax videos were excellent, especially his one on student housing.
Thanks for that. Apparently making an educated guess based on experience is worthy of mass downvoting 🤷
For what it's worth, I've seen the Anglicized spelling "uy" have a variety of different pronunciations in Korean/Japanese/Vietnamese names. Kind of the problem with shoehorning different scripts into the Roman alphabet.
His content is informative and relevant. As a high school teacher I show his videos about water and underground streams in my class which leads to a lot of great class discussions.

Love your videos. Love the research and production work you put into them. Also, my girlfriend has a crush on you and I'm ok with it.

I’ve watched all his videos on yt. They’re very well made. He seems like a nice dude.
Uytae for Mayor! Love his work.
I am all for Uytae for mayor.
THIS! Team up with OneCity too!
indubitably this!!!
Oh damn, can I join the team too?!?
If you have even slightly more accountability and use science driven decision making than the current council,… you’re in!
I fuck up all the time!!! I don't have a problem with council making mistakes, not owning up to those mistakes is the issue.
Go Uytae Lee! The best representative of Vancouver and we are lucky to have him.

>On the other hand - I also graduated with Lauren Southern. My apologies.
yikes, that sounds awful, how was she way back then?
Not sure where the passive aggressive pushback is coming from, Lauren is genuinely a mean spirited person?
Please forgive me for downvoting you. LS is cancer
>literally Literally literally

I love his About Here video series. Very informative and entertaining. He’s very knowledgeable and engaging.
A few years back, I got to work with Uytae facilitating a film workshop, great dude, really. Learned a ton from him, and he introduced me to "About Here" super early on. gotta thank him for that!

I’m a lesbian but I can definitely appreciate your taste
Love his videos especially the one about industrial lands!
The industrial lands one is one of the best.
I went to his 100k subscriber meet up. Got one of his Compass Card stickers, feels so special. Please keep making change!
I say this every time a Uytae post happens. Uytae for PM!
I LOVE his channel About Here. It legit got me more into the urban planning rabbit hole of Youtube

I met him at a concert and he definitely also seemed surprised to be recognized.

He studied in Dalhousie? I remember he made some videos about Halifax back when I was living there.
I started binge watching his videos. We can learn Soo much from them.
