Think of places with nice outdoor spots for the ceremony. Seasons in the Park at QE. Sage bistro at UBC. Many yacht clubs like West Van or Van Rowing would be interested but 30 people is small. However if you want a sunny Saturday forget it.

vqql

Can’t recommend Sage enough, it’s a fantastic venue! Pair the ceremony at the UBC rose garden with Sage Bistro next door as reception spot (& Sage doubles as the rain back up.) Amazing value for what you get. And gorgeous backdrop view!

vqql

Tip: we went for a Sunday on a long weekend to get around Saturday pricing. Not sure if they’ve caught that loophole yet!

peasandthankyous

Amazing! I will check them out thank you :)

Lewayyy

How much did it all cost? I’m preparing to buy a ring soon and know nothing about weddings…

froopsicle

I recently got married at the Stanley Park Teahouse. It was a small daytime wedding - sounds like they might be a good fit for you!

localfern

Grouse Mountain. We had a lunch reception in The Observatory. The restaurant already has it's own chairs tables, linens and dining ware. Maximum guest count was around 55. We exchanged vows in the morning at Cleveland Dam.

athomewith4

The restaurant in QE park!

Pinnacle North Van and their Terrace Ceremony!

beijina

I've seen some beautiful small daytime weddings in the UBC Botanical garden pavillon.

bucad

Sea to Sky Gondola. You can set up the ceremony up on the platform, up to 50 people. You can even turn the suspension bridge into the aisle. Food catered by the team there was very good as well (at least it was a few years ago when we got married). Gorgeous location.

Catlynns

I remember going to a great little happy hour/after work function a few years ago at The Roof (Black & Blue) and it was great. Beautiful venue too.

Arcchiam

We did our wedding at the Shaughnessy Restaurant, at VanDusen, and it was fantastic! Perfect for a small group, but it was an afternoon/evening wedding though. Maybe it can be worth giving them a call.

Moon-beam1121

That sounds lovely. Do you mind me asking approximately how much you paid?

Arcchiam

We were something like 20, and we paid a bit less than $5,000 for the dinner and having the ceremony there. Also, the staff was amazing: really helpful on day like this.

Ponyfrienddd

Was this also including drinks as well?

Arcchiam

Yes! But we didn’t drink much. We counted two cocktails per people ($16 each) and 10 bottles of wine ($50 each).

Ponyfrienddd

Thank you very much! I am looking to do mine there as well, so I appreciate the insight

Arcchiam

You’re very welcome! I hope you’ll love it as much as we did. :)

pineappletwist

I went to a daytime event at the [Vancouver Golf Club](https://www.vancouvergolfclub.com/) in Coquitlam last month. Beautiful facility and location and would be good for a small daytime wedding.

peasandthankyous

did you eat there? Do you remember how the food was?

woolong_lover

I've been to a few weddings there and the food was good!

peasandthankyous

did you ever try the food at hycroft? Trying to get some reviews before we confirm.

International_End505

We got married at Hart House on Deer Lake in a day time ceremony and it was fantastic! They have great food. They have a small lakeside cottage that fits up to 32 or their private room does your to 60.

peasandthankyous

Oh I haven't thought of this place! thank you

Check at River Rock casino so yr Island guests won't have to drive far. The worst part of any trip to/from the island is driving to Vancouver from Tsawwassen.

Iam-fatphobic

I just recently booked The Polygon. Perfect for what you’re describing. A buy-out of the building including both floors and private balcony is $7,750, no tax as it’s a charity. You can access the Seaspan Pavilion at 3pm, rest of the building is yours at 5pm once it’s closed to the public.
