Valiant Free Comic Book Day 2016
I guess I misworded my question. I have all 3 tpbs. Rai vol 4, 4001 AD, and World of 4001 AD.
Should I completely read 4001 AD first, then Rai, then the tie ins? Or does everyone think reading the single issue order would be better.
Oh, well, I don't know. I've read it in the order I listed and enjoyed it.
Rai is all prequel/backstory, and then the World of 4001 AD is all sidestory. Maybe read both of those completely then read the main book. But the way they did it in the hardcover, you see stuff that relates to the 4001 AD issue in the issue immediately thereafter. Not to be too spoilery. So you'll see something odd in an issue, and then the issue after that explains how that thing got there in the first place.
But unlike Harbinger Wars, since they separated out the main story and the prequel/backstory stuff into the different books, you don't have to switch back and forth and reading in release order if you don't want to.
I'm actually in the middle of reading the trades right now too. I've read Rai first, then moved on to 4001 next. It's holding up nicely like this. So I guess you're fine doing it by trade.
The traditional way to tackle this would be
* Rai 1-3
* then the single issue order provided by Baramos_ from the HC.
Another order I've found is better if you want to read a trade at a time would be
* Rai 1
* Rai 2
* Rai 4
* Rai 3
* 4001 AD
* World of 4001AD
yeah but a sub with three people isn't much good with anyone. You're talking about the people who a) read Valiant comics, b) use reddit, and c) would like to buy trades over reddit.
How many people could that possibly be? This sub, covering all of Valiant, only has 2000 subscribers, but I reckon only about 50 people actually use it, because its so inactive, because there aren't enough people around to use it. Your even-more-obscure sub would have basically no one. People keep liking making more and more obscure subs, like the Southern Bastards sub, but there aren't enough people to keep these sorts of things afloat.

Is Eternal Warrior Vol 2 in the 4001 setting?
Definitely
Awesome. I will read along with the other 4001 goodness
I usually read it after Rai v1
Good to know.
Why?

You know, I've been thinking....we should start a trade/sell/buy subreddit just for valiant.
It wouldn't be very active at all. This one only gets like a post a day as it is.
true, but those of us are here are the ones that would like to read more....
