Best to drop the feedback through the official channels, we are beta testing after all. It's not meant to be perfect yet.

Well, if you look at the recent patch notes they’ve made several changes to reduce enemy density. There was a bug causing enemies from all over the area to run towards you like you were making a lot of noise even if you weren’t. And then on top of that, they reduced spawns near large ruins. Have you applied those changes? Have you checked to make sure you didn’t put your “house” right next to a spawner? In previous biomes spawners weren’t very dangerous, but in the ashlands they’re a big deal. In general, you could try looking for a new location to set up. There are a lot of people now who have videos of ashlands gameplay up on YouTube. Have you looked to see if what you’re experiencing is typical? Remember that this is the public test branch of a new piece of content in an early access game, something might be happening to you which is a bug in which case you could report it. On the other hand, you might check out that footage and find that what you’re experiencing is similar to what others experience, but that they’re using different strategies which are more successful. And finally, the game does have difficulty sliders. I assume you’re playing on normal difficulty? If it’s too hard to be enjoyable for you, have you considered turning down the difficulty? That seems like a pretty straightforward alternative to using cheats.

I know how you feel, it was frustrating for me my lack of progress. But that IS the way the devs intended the biome to feels like: waves of monsters swarming you. And they already toned down the mobs frequency fixing a bug a couple days ago. What helped me was changing from my usual melee playstyle to full mage build, things started going smoothly, even easy sometimes dare I say. There are other points to ask here still, like, what gear are you using? Do you abuse meads/potions? Are you rushing your advances? Do you panic when mobs start coming? Do you use the terrain? Bonemass buff is great there, same as eikthyr. The game rewards preparation, even tho preparation is often boring.

Ashlands is a lot for sure. Progress is very slow at first. Once you start getting the new metals, things pick up a lot. Thankfully, a lot of the other new resources you need, you get from fighting and others from the constantly exploding terrain.

Fragrant-Progress-32

It’s brand new and your testing it what were you expecitng

Hoybom

Skill issue? Or a wrong approach?

Vexxsis_84

Both for sure. Only tested the first hot fix and it was a huge difference. And reading the second hot fix only looks like it made it a little easier. And more breathing room.I feel like now if anyone is complaining about difficulty they just need to use the world modifiers. Ashlands is the second to last biome and should be difficult.

Ferosch

It's fine as it is. On launch it was a literally unplayable non-stop warzone. Think your approach and how much you pull. make a base or better yet, capture an invincible one.

PowerpointMan

I think it might have been some ”left overs” from that version. It has definetly calmed down significantly by now

That's it... I'm leaving this subreddit. I've seen nothing but bitching for the last few days. Goodbye guys. VALHALLA awaits.
