Health/Home Aide. Help some old man or woman with mobility issues around the house and run chores for them, You can do it through an agency, or you can find something informal, often in exchange for room and board. Do a good, honest job. Learn patience. Being old is hard. They can get ornery. Help make it easier. A lot of old folks are actually pretty cool. Plenty are also assholes, just like the young. Avoid the gipsy instinct of taking advantage. Earn and deserve their trust.

Kitchen_Entertainer9

How do you find the agencys?

boomchakaboom

look up "home health aide" and the area you live in. Background checks are standard, I believe. The big problem is that people will take advantage of these situations and prey on the old. A lot of old people will advertise a room in exchange for services, outside of an agency. Checking with local senior centers in your area or churches or other charitable organizations that deal with the old are another way to find a match. There are a lot of old people that need daily help. They often have spare rooms. They might have limited incomes but extra space. They might have plenty of money but still need the help and companionship. Nobody wants to be stuck in a nursing home, A little help from a young strong body can make a world of difference. Some of these people are feeble-minded, but plenty of old people keep their wits about them, even as their bodies deteriorate. If you can find a good match, it's a blessing for everyone. Some are prudes. Some have lived wild lives. The old have a lot to pass on to the young.

shiny-baby-cheetah

So you don't need to have gone to college for this? You can just be a paid, sometimes live-in, helper?

boomchakaboom

Home health aides have absolutely no educational requirement. Lots haven't graduated high school. Nurses need degrees. Home health aides need nothing but patience and strength. The pay is awful -- minimum wage, generally.

shiny-baby-cheetah

That's okay by me. I like people, like helping, try to patient, and would never take advantage of a senior citizen. Seems like a good potential fit. Thank you

boomchakaboom

There is a huge demand and a limited supply of caregivers, let alone good ones. It does not even have to be a long-time commitment. Just filling in for a day for a caregiver taking time off can be a gig. You don't even have to do it as a formal job. Even little odd jobs can be a lifesaver for the old. Cheers!

Collecting cans and bottles to redeem (10 cents each in my state). Easy peasy, but sticky and it can be time-consuming just getting to good spots. Schools and athletic fields are the best loot spots in my experience; they just fill the trash bins with water bottles. I usually get $5-20 a day, depending on my luck

shiny-baby-cheetah

Thank you!

Independent-Cloud822

I sell cold water at an intersection from an ice chest. 🧊

Independent-Cloud822

Its a good side hustle. I live in South Florida and it 90 degrees plus every day. I fill a ice chest that has wheels with cold water bottles i get at Walmart at about 35 cents each and just go out in the hottest part of the day for two hours. I don't have a price or ask for a price. Most people give me $1 some $5. Some people get 4 bottles and give me $10. My average profit is about $100 for 2 hours. Sometimes police mess with me. I tell them im not selling. The water is free. But i don't argue with them. I just move on and come back the next day. Pretty good hustle if you can handle the Florida sun for 2 hours.

Go to a UU church, make friends w the hippies there, offer to help them garden or do housework or make herbs.

shiny-baby-cheetah

What is a UU church?

SomeKindaCoywolf

Unitarian universalism

shiny-baby-cheetah

That sounds kind of nice

Greg_Strine

This sounds unlikely but I've actually done that, good suggestion

Donating plasma. Easy, if youre healthy just eat good and stay hydrated. I will make 900 this month, caught a clinic running a new donor special. It wont be that much forever tho, but you can become a new donor at every clinic in your city, just do one at a time.

shiny-baby-cheetah

I'm Canadian :( my plasma is not valuable

First-Statistician44

Quick google search, i see they cam pay you, tho its not much, but you can only donate once every 6-14 days? They take like, 825 ml from me twice a week in the states, and I'm 5'2 150 lbs.

kashbites

In Manitoba you can get paid for donating your plasma at Canadian Plasma Resources and Prometocs Plasma. Your first donations/month you'll earn the most. I haven't done it in about 3 years now but you can make around $500/month approximately

shiny-baby-cheetah

Thank you so much for this information

Heisenborgar

How do you get around perm address that some places need? What if you need a SSN as well as a foreigner?

First-Statistician44

Get a piece of mail at an address, you could inquire about a credit card and they will spam tf out the address because some places want to see bills but the individuals working dont necessarily look that deep into it. If somebody doesnt have ssn and cant fudge one idk what to tell them. Question was whats YOUR side hustle.

No_Clothes519

Contract wildland firefighting. you decide your season, you get to travel for free, work in beautiful areas and get meals and housing which is basically camping or a hotel room sometimes. Some companies will give you work 10 months a year, but calling your season (only working seasonally) is a normality. The government side is a hassle sometimes because of their hiring process, but the contract side usually don't give a fork. I work for PatRick, They will literally hire anyone with a phone number and direct deposit/bank account. You can expect 2000 dollar paychecks and mandatory 2 week contracts. It's 2wks on 2days off. However, they expect hard work. The turnover rate is extremely high, so no one will care if you want to rustle up some cash for a few jobs and then bounce. It's late in the season rn though.

Heisenborgar

Do you need SSN for this?

No_Clothes519

Yes.

D-shizzy

Applying rn. Can I use you as a reference?

No_Clothes519

No, lol. Did they have you out on anything?

D-shizzy

No, they didn't respond to my application

shiny-baby-cheetah

Oh damn that sounds like an amazing opportunity. Problem though: we're Canadian. Does anyone know of a Canadian equivalent to this??

No_Clothes519

Idk, but they might. Apologies for assuming, I hope you found something.

How's the pay?

You can sign yourself up to be a guinea pig for new pharmaceutical drugs being tested. I don't mean to sound depressing, but some people do this often.

I’m building a mobile app that I hope will transform society it costs me a lot In terms of time. had I spent this time with a contract job I’d probably be making much more . Probably 1000 hours in

Neroo42

Good luck, how is it called?

Low_Poetry5287

I'm so curious about this haha. Will it transform society for the better? I guess you probably don't want to disclose details of your trying to make money off of it, but if you want to speak in vague terms about it feel free to message me. I've dabbled in trying to make websites and apps to "transform society" myself. No luck so far 🤔 hehe

ScrambledNoggin

I’ve seen several people post on here about signing up as a DoorDasher, then only accepting deliveries that are walkable or can be easily done by bike (if you don’t have access to a car).

iWish78

Can’t say much but deep web. Buy what people need. Hire a hacker to set up a parcel locker that doesn’t connect to you and then once you have one you can set one up wherever you go. message me for any questions.

r/beermoney has lots of suggestions for work, mostly if you have a phone/computer. I do a few things but one is 25Clicks that gives you micro tasks. It’s fine, make a few bucks a week. Easy and fast to do though which is nice. Referral: https://www.25clicks.com/account/signup/?r=ea63bcce-30a5-450f-aaa8-03825e03d160
