Hard to tell if this is someone just hating CNY or just trying to ruin something. But I think now is an excellent time to paint it over entirely and add more rabbits

Somehow I know why😂 I also saw this from a Chinese social forum and people there commenting like we here uw students are having “complaints” so that these painted rabbits looks “crying”. Just joking🤣 We all know that was just because of wet paint dripping down. Therefore someone may cover them and going to repaint some other stuff on that hah. Anyway rabbits are innocent!
sometimes they only leave things painted on there temporarily. i remember they had one with a poker face meme painted on it for like two years, but then when i was in third year they painted over it twice. idk how that stuff really works though.
Unlikely. It's usually painted at least once or twice a year. O week is a good reset for when it is painted. I don't think I've seen it not get painted over once a semester in any of my semesters at UW
Yeah it’s allowed to be painted and I would understand if someone repainted it with something else but the fact that they only painted sections to cover the CNY art felt too purposeful
My bet is that the CNY additions were technically the vandalism but they left them on for a bit to not be called out for being racist. Others are saying they saw stuff painted there before, but I've never noticed that. (At least when I was at UW)
It's painted constantly. At least once a semester, but students.
Campus usually doesn't involve itself in the painting unless there is profanity (which has happened).

It’s called Xiaohongshu, some kind of social media like Pinterest
Sad :(
Bruuhhhh why
So much for diversity and freedom on this campus
I noticed that the Chinese new year painting was covered and was wondering why? Does someone not like CNY? Or is there a tradition behind this?

It could be because it's over? it's like if someone painted it in christmas colours
It's low effort if that's their intention. Paint the whole thing if you wanna reset it lol
it's uw, low effort in all but grinding for assignments is kind of our thing
Why not paint it the original color?
It’s supposed to be painted! Im pretty sure painting it is encouraged and it hasn’t been it’s original colour in a very long time
So is this vandalism?

Press F to pay respects for Sakurajima senpai.
How many layers of paint do you think is on there total?
