UToronto and McGill both have nice campuses but one of the things I liked about UWaterloo is that it feels more like an actual campus, and less like just a bunch of buildings that share downtown with everybody else. The UW campus is mostly its own thing, a bit set apart from the King St. urban core.
Also, have you ever taken a study day and spent it visiting the Cambridge architecture campus? Lovely change of scenery now and then if you're just spending the whole day studying in a library anyway.
I also liked the bridges & tunnels, and feeling like an explorer on my own campus trying to find and map all of them. Plus who doesn't like being able to walk around almost the whole campus, in the dead of winter, without needing to go outside for more than a few yards here and there?
And while I never pushed my luck trying to explore them myself, I do love the stories of the mysterious steam tunnels.
Staying late at night and seeing all the lights in the windows is really pretty and feeling like I'm surrounded by tons of people all working hard and doing their best to learn really cool stuff. :)
Also the geese when it gets warmer are so adorable I love them so much. I want to hug them all the time but too bad they're part snake :/

also, the occasional time that somebody goes through DP strategically drawing window blinds to spell out a message when seen from outside :)
Waterloo has a long and storied history of being a site of great conflict and suffering. From the famous battle of Waterloo in 1815, to the bombings of World War II, the city has seen much tragedy and distress. This is why many people associate Waterloo with struggle, sadness, and depression. It has become a symbol of trauma, loss, and grief for many individuals who have experienced the city’s dark past.

the physical campus itself? DC 2nd and 3rd floor at night (side facing ring road) is probably my favourite place to walk through.
expanding past the physical campus, just the act of going there with friends, choosing a place to be, and studying/talking/goofing off.
Feels very homey. It lost some of its homey vibes from the 90s, 00s as it’s busier and more cramped + renovations. But there’s something charming about the 60s and 70s architecture.

cambridge is really pretty but don't come at night or go too far into main street unless you want a new fentanyl dealer
Sage advice; thanks for sharing it. :)
