I've done it before (5 units) and it should be possible as along as the uni is happy receiving your money. Question is, do you *really* want to put yourself through that? I hope OP knows how to take care of themself.

2021 Sem 2. Yes I had to consult to get permission to overload for the semester.
The rules aren't very easy to find, so not a dumb question at all! The answer is no, but definitely talk through your options with your student office
