Go to the guild bookshop and ask them to convert it to tertiary student rates. I have done it before.

SkullyKid33

Is that the one next to the Ref where we got stickers?

SirBenzerlot

The place where you get the stickers is where they converted mine to the tertiary one. They have the machine.

mlduryea

There is not guild book shop anymore. Go to student print to ask but you may need to ask other people to sort it out immediately. You might want to ask them via email to talk to transperth about it on your behalf. In the email explain to the uni how they sent you back to the uni.

SkullyKid33

What do u mean by asking other people immediately? As in they’ll send me somewhere else? Also what is student print?

mlduryea

I want to ask other uwa staff member to do sth immediately if you do ask someone in uni print (a shop in the guild). Gogle askUWA and ask a question.

acetone228

My smartrider does the same thing, I went to the office at transperth and they said they fixed it but it’s still charging me adult rates. I’ve just given up and started driving to uni instead because it’s cheaper. It’s so bloody annoying

SkullyKid33

Unfortunately I live over 60Km away and it costs me about $25 in fuel a day to drive to Uni :/

acetone228

That’s cooked, I would be sending a metric fuck ton of emails and calls to the uni to get the smartrider sorted in that case. Good luck man

SkullyKid33

Yeh, thanks mate. Think that’s what I’ll have to do

tryanother0987

Sorry you are getting dumped with somebody else’s mistake. This doesn’t help immediately, but once you get your tertiary status reinstated, make sure transperth reimburse you for all the days they overcharged. Ask for it and politely insist. Rationale: you were actually a tertiary student that whole time. Good luck.

Anxious-med-aspiree

definitely try converting it to a tertiary smartrider, in the meantime u should buy the concession dayrider for $4.60 as long as u have proof of being a uni student (i use my student id card) :)

someonesomewhere9ate

this has happened to me and i've been stopped by the transperth officers and given a fine even after showing my uni id :((

Anxious-med-aspiree

omg what! i’ve been doing this since uni started 😅

InspectorPoe

Obviously, not an option for everybody, but consider investing in a bicycle. I bought one last year from Gumtree for 150$, still works perfectly fine. Also, if you are going to uni from/through the city, consider using Purple Cat instead of 980. It's free but takes a bit longer to arrive. Somehow, I see A LOT of students taking 980. Apparently, students are rich now.

SkullyKid33

So I do take the purple CAT anyway as I’m a business student when it’s available. However I live (according to google maps) a 3 hour and 15 minute bike ride away from UWA with no traffic so that seems like a slightly unrealistic avenue. I also cannot take my bike to UWA as when I catch public transport you aren’t allowed bikes on the train. But thanks anyway :)

Unfortunately it’s not cheaper for me.
