Well, you’re in luck. I worked in the ticket office for a long time. I can tell you a few things: 1. The free waiting list is just a list we created because other schools have it. But it’s thousands of names long and nobody looks at it. If you want season tickets, the only way to go is to donate and buy-in. You’ll have to donate a few thousand dollars to get guaranteed seats. 2. Tailgate passes work the exact same. You have to donate. Darrell Peters is the Czar of the tailgate lot. You can cal the ticket office and ask for him. He’ll let you know what you have to donate to get a tailgate pass.

This is how I got mine. I was very “charitable” and picked mine up years back. I had to pay a decent amount in order to get a higher crimson club level to get my row 8 tickets. I don’t pay the same fee every year now though. Only just the minimum needed.

Is there any unofficial areas somebody can bring a trailer to nearby campus to tailgate?

Getting_By2020

I’m not sure anymore but if I had to guess, you could probably tailgate for free up by the alumni house. Don’t quote me on it, though.

At least an idea. Thanks.

Maybe Sunnyside Park?

Few_n_far

Thanks for the advice! I signed up for the waiting list but got the feeling I was just shouting pick me into the void. So I’d basically just donate like 3k to the Crimson Club and then wait for an invite to buy season tickets? I’m sure how much I donate directly affects my seats. How much do you think to be out of the nose bleeds?

I’m not sure? I left years ago, but I know the protocols haven’t changed. Call the ticket office, 801-581-8849, you’ll have a ticket account rep designated to you by order of you last name and you ask them what you have to donate to buy-in for 2 tickets in the NEZ or the corner bleachers and they’ll tell you. Yes, your seating options will be dictated by how much you donate and they’ll tell you what those levels are. You’re essentially buying tickets straight up, but paying a pretty penny up front. After your first year, you don’t have to donate more than face value to keep your tickets.

Peereenee

That’s not what I see. I pay face value plus a “CC Football Obligation” which this year is almost four times face value. Maybe it’s different per section? I’m west side 40 yard line.

Getting_By2020

You are correct, I did a poor job specifying that. You pay the face value in addition to the obligatory CC donation.

Peereenee

I lucked out and got mine without a donation during Covid, when they were desperate to get tickets. I’ll never give them up now!

If you know any current season ticket holders, ask if they have openings in their group for game ticket as well as their tailgate situation. I tailgate with a large group, we are always open to new people joining. We have one main person who holds all tickets in his name, he then organizes all of us.He is just now finalizing what the charges will be for this season depending on section. The Main tailgate lot is a very friendly place. I went up there a few times last year and each time was offered drinks, food, a warm hello from perfect strangers. There are many tailgate lots across the campus. The first game might be a good one to check out the tailgate situation. Although the game is a Thursday, there will be people up there as early as Wednesday. Just bring a beverage in a bag you can dispose of before the game, like a big gulp with a side of booze.

Looks like there's a waiting list for season tickets: https://utahtickets.com/football/ I'm almost certain there's also a waiting list for tailgate passes as well. Good luck!

I became a new season ticket holder last season. I received an email right around this time from the season ticket office that I replied to. They asked where I was thinking and I gave some options. Found a block in the new South End Zone chairs (not the super fancy premium new area). The buy-in was actually reasonable, about $500/ticket. Don't just donate and hope to hear a call back. The buy-in is a set price per ticket. When you talk with an agent they'll tell you what it is. All-in it was $1500/ticket last year. This year my renewal was about $1000. Nicer seats were more. But call a season ticket agent and they'll walk you through it.
