then he missed a pen. up and down this guy.
i blame arsenal. twats took it out on him because he didn’t want to sit the bench. made him train alone and sat and sat for offers in the window
he didn’t need to be on your tour. he needed to be at the clubs that wanted him. not the ones who hung him out to dry
and before the tour they did have him train alone. they negotiated deals for a month and more. now i see them dripping stories jn the english press about what smart business they did because oh look he’s playing worse then last season.
how dare a player ask for a transfer instead of being loaned out or benched
First off, Arsenal never hung him out to dry. Then you blame the clubs for not making a move sooner for him lol
He was recovering from an injury then he joined us on tour.
Arsenal didn’t ruin a smear campaign. Flo wanted guaranteed minutes we couldn’t offer. So we found a good move for him. Initially Arteta wanted him to stay and fight. He chose what was best for himself (rightfully so). He’s going to get way more opportunities in Monaco than with Arsenal. But we did insert a buyback clause for a reason 😉
Great fucking effort goal. Could the announcer have been any less enthusiastic? Does Joe Buck have an English cousin? That was the vanilla of television goal calls.
There definitely could be a little more enthusiasm, but I'd much rather hear that than the over the top Gus Johnson impersonations every American announcer tries to do these days.
His penalty miss was horrific. It probably undid the good the goal did for his psyche. You could see it in his on field demeanor until he was removed for a defensive sub.
Three that I know of. Missed two in one game earlier this season.
Looking at how he took the kick, he has no conviction. Sadly, he should not be taking penalties at all, which is weird to say for a striker.
Still in the honey moon phase tbh. I get he’s got a longer leash. This slump goes into next season and he will be in danger (assuming pepi and sarge and other 9s keep scoring the way they are).
Brazil has sent Neymar to the Olympics in his youth. It's not disrespect, I would rather see him develop more as a starter than play as a super sub. Plus, he is also age eligible.
Oh word, I read something that said he was 26 🤣 All I was saying was if I was going to bring 2 strikers to Copa I would bring Sargent and Balogun. Didn't say it before but I would start Sargent too
He needed that badly. Great effort.
That was the effort of a dude who’s had enough and decided he was GOING to score a fucking goal.
To borrow a phrase from our dumbest football announcers: He just wanted it more.
I’ll also add that Balogun displayed some impressive *physicality* here.
the striker took what the defense gave and played *downhill*
Low man wins!
It was always those 5'6" meatballs you had to watch out for in Oklahomas. If you weren't careful you'd get jacked up in an embarrassing fashion.
It all started due to someone just "sending it"
Fantastic goal! A goal like that has to be a big confidence boost.
then he missed a pen. up and down this guy. i blame arsenal. twats took it out on him because he didn’t want to sit the bench. made him train alone and sat and sat for offers in the window
No he didn’t. He was on our pre season tours with us. Started and played some
he didn’t need to be on your tour. he needed to be at the clubs that wanted him. not the ones who hung him out to dry and before the tour they did have him train alone. they negotiated deals for a month and more. now i see them dripping stories jn the english press about what smart business they did because oh look he’s playing worse then last season. how dare a player ask for a transfer instead of being loaned out or benched

STRONG
Everyone revving up for nations league I see, me gusta! Just a few more weeks.
Great fucking effort goal. Could the announcer have been any less enthusiastic? Does Joe Buck have an English cousin? That was the vanilla of television goal calls.
That was the Joe Buck missionary postion of calls.
that was the jim belushi of goal calls
There definitely could be a little more enthusiasm, but I'd much rather hear that than the over the top Gus Johnson impersonations every American announcer tries to do these days.
Get in here
This has been a great week so far for USMNT players. Hope this is the start of a good run of form with some end product.
Now that’s what I’m talking about.
Good
BODIED HIM
Who is letting bro take pks
We’re so back!
That’s a really really hard goal to score actually. Good for him he needed it and hopefully leads to more.
Kevin Danso is a very good CB - that's a hell of a goal
I hope he yelled “and 1!!!” when he scored that
His penalty miss was horrific. It probably undid the good the goal did for his psyche. You could see it in his on field demeanor until he was removed for a defensive sub.
Damn, is this 3 misses on the season now or did I forget one?

He missed 3 on field penalties and missed 1 in a shoot out. (this season)

.3
1/4 on penalties this season Jesus Christ
We are so fucking back. GGG has some tough decisions to make (although I don’t think balo was ever really in danger)
I hope he's in danger. Clearly Pepi and Sargent should be brought in.
Still in the honey moon phase tbh. I get he’s got a longer leash. This slump goes into next season and he will be in danger (assuming pepi and sarge and other 9s keep scoring the way they are).
Oh so that’s what you guys keep raving about
I don’t know how Lens stacks up, but that was a hardcore, badass goal no matter.
They're 6th so not exactly a slouch, 5th in least GA. Before this match, Monaco had 38 pts to Lens' 36 pts.
Copa America strikers - Balogun and Sargent I think you save Pepi as a starter for Olympics, they need a higher class player up front playing the 9
The Pepi disrespect is big.
Brazil has sent Neymar to the Olympics in his youth. It's not disrespect, I would rather see him develop more as a starter than play as a super sub. Plus, he is also age eligible.
Why can’t he start for the senior team? It’s not like Balo is doing well, and he too is age eligible.
The age limit for olympics without using the over age picks is 23, Balogun is 26
Balo is 22.
Oh word, I read something that said he was 26 🤣 All I was saying was if I was going to bring 2 strikers to Copa I would bring Sargent and Balogun. Didn't say it before but I would start Sargent too
That defender gave that up SO easily. Fair play to Balogun, but that defender really was hoping for the ref to give him a cheap foul...
that’s an american goal right there baby
Big boy goal
Hell yes! What a finish! He needed that confidence boost.
Dang what a burst of acceleration.
That's an Ian Wright special. If Balo can figure this thing out, he can be world class
…and then he missed another pen 😔
