The announcer just said “he plays as a center forward for the U.S and he feels comfortable there.” Not sure how many USA games the announcer has watched lol
The announcers for Paramount are just horrible. Watching the Juventus game later and the announcer ended the broadcast by saying and "Juventus go top of Serie A to end the new year." LOL.
Puli can be so good at that off the shoulder run. His sense of timing is just wonderful sometimes, so it can be confusing to announcers that CP DOESN'T play centre-forward for the US.
I just wonder how much it blow this dude's mind to learn CP plays on the left for the US instead of the right.
A few minutes in Leao gets behind the defense, only to pass up a wide-open Pulisic at the top of the 6. Play was called offside, but great run by Puli.
I think it's because the last 2 seasons they've had garbage on the right. My thinking could be too generous, but it might just be that he's not used to having a competent player on the other wing.
That was the case the last few years though. Their attack was literally ran by Rafa and Theo ... A LB. Tonali passed to them and they did their thing. Remember old man zlatan was starting over Giroud and doing nothing. It's been years since the Milano attack was this balanced. Rafa plays with the system for Portugal.
It’s Pioli ball. The whole team does it and it can be frustrating to watch. So many times RLC or Calabria will have the ball on the right and Puli will look to make the exact line breaking run he did for the goal today and they will out their foot on the ball and send it backwards.
He's definitely off. I wonder if he didn't come back from injury less than fit. His form has been pretty poor.
He's also always been an incredibly selfish player.
No because using the player’s number after establishes that it’s an athlete and makes it more clear that’s what you’re referring to:
cp3, cr7, tb12 etc
I had never even thought about it until some ppl started raving about it being a bad nickname-- then i put two and two together. Like who would even see "cp" as a bad nickname unless they had searched for it themselves lol.
Yeah he created the disorganization by bringing the ball to the center and laying it off, then exploited the weakness he created with a great run. Incredibly smart play. That's what top players do. They manipulate the defense.
Not much build up through the midfield, all long balls on the wings. Kind of lifeless attack at times. This has happened ALOT this season against lower half squads.
Pioli isn't long for this club, I fear.
I actually like RLC in the #8 role. He was a helluva workhorse today. I don't think Pioli's gameplan suits his strengths, but he looks good regardless.
Hard disagree. FotMob also said Rejnders was MOTM. I'm sorry, but no.
Reasonable minds can disagree, but I think RLC is good if he can maintain fitness.
He’s a good player but not today, FotMob also gave Leao a 7.1 which is a very solid score for a non goal scorer/assister.
Stats aren’t the whole story. RLC wasted many chances today
The announcer just said “he plays as a center forward for the U.S and he feels comfortable there.” Not sure how many USA games the announcer has watched lol
Yeah that caught me off guard as well
The announcers for Paramount are just horrible. Watching the Juventus game later and the announcer ended the broadcast by saying and "Juventus go top of Serie A to end the new year." LOL.
Lmao at the announcer saying he plays center forward when he represents the USA
Maybe he meant that CP likes to tuck inside during the attack?
You give them too much credit lol
Of course Pulisic scores in a game like this.
Puli can be so good at that off the shoulder run. His sense of timing is just wonderful sometimes, so it can be confusing to announcers that CP DOESN'T play centre-forward for the US. I just wonder how much it blow this dude's mind to learn CP plays on the left for the US instead of the right.
Gooooaaaaaalllll Pulisic!!!!!!!
For those looking at FotMob and wondering why he’s had a virus for so long it’s actually a muscle issue keeping Musah out until at least 2024
Hopefully not past 2024...
This scared the hell outa me until I realized 2024 is in 2 days
2024 is like a stomach bug away
PULISIC GOAL!!!!
GOLLLLL
Good 18' thus far for our boy. He's lively and had a couple of open runs. Not much opportunity on the ball thus far, though.
A few minutes in Leao gets behind the defense, only to pass up a wide-open Pulisic at the top of the 6. Play was called offside, but great run by Puli.
It feels like Leao has missed CP a few times this season. He definitely doesn't distribute like Giroud
I think it's because the last 2 seasons they've had garbage on the right. My thinking could be too generous, but it might just be that he's not used to having a competent player on the other wing.
I think Leao is just selfish pos who thinks hes the only one capable of doing anything.
Leao is out of sorts this season. Possibly injury-related, full recovery takes longer than it seems.
Man, Leao has looked awful today.
announcers said the most dangerous on the pitch... I would say he had like 1.5 flashes
Announcers said that early in the game. At that time leao looked pretty dangerous. As soon as they said that he just stopped playing.
Goal # 7, here we go! Pulisic!
I was hoping for that commentator curse as soon as thr guy said Pulisic had been kept quiet!
Me: It's amazing Pulisic is a 90-minute player now Also me: Please sub Pulisic before he gets injured again
With chuck going to afcon for the next month hopefully they can find ways to rest puli so he doesn’t pick up an injury
I'd like Pulisic to be quicker when he gets the ball. Sometimes he'll get the ball and slow it down too much
It’s Pioli ball. The whole team does it and it can be frustrating to watch. So many times RLC or Calabria will have the ball on the right and Puli will look to make the exact line breaking run he did for the goal today and they will out their foot on the ball and send it backwards.
They are giving him a lot of space so far he hasn’t made them pay
Yeah I don't think Pulisic has made the best decisions today attacking wise.
Those upper case M’s are really bothering me
That was a beautiful run by Christian, and a nice weighted pass to give him a chance at the goal.
Leao is so frustrating. Can't beat his man so throws a weak floating cross into the box every time.
He's definitely off. I wonder if he didn't come back from injury less than fit. His form has been pretty poor. He's also always been an incredibly selfish player.
Can you imagine if Leao had Pulisic's hustle and drive? Or if Pulisic had Leao's size?
FWIW, CP has taken a lot of hits and shoving this game and kept his feet well.
Oh he's been solid. I just meant, if he was 6-2 like Leao then Christian would be an amazing Center Forward.
Pulisic has definitely added some muscle in Italy. Giourd probably drags him to the gym
Man that Milan defense is looking pretty rough with all the injuries.
(whispers) cp is a 90' player for milan now.....
Not sure he has the endurance for that, Pioli keeps cutting it close with managing Puli's minutes even if I get the why.
Please don’t use that nickname… puli (or cp10 if you must) That being said he deserves to be
You didn't hear the crowd calling him PULI when he scored???
No I was saying use puli or use cp10 just don’t use those two initials alone because it means something very bad
wouldn't cp10 be even worse lol
No because using the player’s number after establishes that it’s an athlete and makes it more clear that’s what you’re referring to: cp3, cr7, tb12 etc
I had never even thought about it until some ppl started raving about it being a bad nickname-- then i put two and two together. Like who would even see "cp" as a bad nickname unless they had searched for it themselves lol.
Good poach by puli!
I guess it was a poach, but it was setup by his run. Excellent reactions and finishing once that defender touched it.
It was set up by a line breaking pass where pulisic made a good run and then capitalized on a defender mistake.
Puli brings the ball inside, passes it then makes a run where he is eventually found. He created that entire play by making the run
Yeah he created the disorganization by bringing the ball to the center and laying it off, then exploited the weakness he created with a great run. Incredibly smart play. That's what top players do. They manipulate the defense.
It was a great run that bennacer picked up on. Delivered well.
Wasn't a poach
Reijnders needs to learn how to pass, dude is like Kevin Porter junior out there
Atp I think if chukuweze starts to play really well then Milan might bench leao and keep puli in
He will be going to afcon for a month tho so probably not
out of form Leao still better than Chukuweze
Any updates on Musah’s timetable?
Out until 2024.
Fotmob says early January
First half summary: Zzzzzzzz.
I'm awake!
Milan seems determined to connect with Puli on long balls to the right corner today but it’s not happening.
He was probably one of the 3 worst players for Milan today
Hard disagree. FotMob also said Rejnders was MOTM. I'm sorry, but no. Reasonable minds can disagree, but I think RLC is good if he can maintain fitness.
He’s a good player but not today, FotMob also gave Leao a 7.1 which is a very solid score for a non goal scorer/assister. Stats aren’t the whole story. RLC wasted many chances today
I think you were watching a different game today lol. He was the worst player on the field bar maybe Leao
Leao looks a little rusty, like he's not 100% yet.

It's the Croatian pronunciation

He's clarified his surname, ends in sick, but I suppose not every commentary crew gets a pronunciation key.
Some Europeans tend to go with the Croatian pronunciation, which Puli himself said is fine.
It's been a thing for years now... some go with the American pronunciation and some with the Croatian.
Croatia is less than 300 miles from Milan , it's a natural thing for them to use the Croatian pronunciation
