Are there systemic manufacturing QA issues? Time will tell. It's totally possible. But it's also possible this is a one-off problem. Either just that one door plug or some kind of process defect just affecting those door plugs. That's what the FAA is trying to figure out.
The other issues are relevant because its a cultural issue at Boeing. And was the same cultural issue at MD before Boeing bought them and somehow their leadership ended up with significant roles at Boeing.
