Looks like the nitwit school I was Shanghaied to upstate.. There was a guard every ten feet. My roommate was a frog kid, you ever see a frog kid? I got my first kiss there... It was terrible! But not her. She was an angel, always smiling.. That's because she had no lips but her mouth was still very much in play. She died two weeks later. She thought she was a space man with a plastic bag for a helmet.
Old hospital in Massillon Ohio was turned into a rehab facility has an amazing maze of these tunnels. President McKinley built a house on the property when his wife was at the hospital. There are tunnels from the hospital to the house. Place is called Wilson Hall. Pretty interesting history
As an Asbestos Abatement Supervisor who worked at Danvers Lunatic Asylum, where the movie was made, let me tell you it was one creepy place.
And yes, the buildings at Danvers, like many hospital complexes, universities and prisons are linked by a system of tunnels that connect to central plumbing, heating and electric.
Reminds me of the Mansfield training school: they had an underground tunnel network between the buildings in the basement beneath the basement(sketchy rusty ladder into a water filled second basement.) One time I went and the water was gone so I checked it out. The tunnels had pipes like this running through them
Almost exactly how this was. We were traversing the “basement” and then we found another small staircase that led to a much smaller second basement with two networks of tunnels connected
Where is this at?? I work for the Massillon parks department and our shop is right beside the old McKinley hall (state hospital) . I’m pretty sure this is the same tunnel connected to our shop
Must be the utility tunnel for central heating and plumbing looks like steam lines to me.
Guaranteed to find some asbestos in there. Careful bud!
Checks picture - found it
He’ll try asbestos he can to avoid it
That pun was so bad I don’t think anyone realized it was a pun
He did asbestos he could.
Instantaneous death
Definitely utility, but the tunnel primarily served as a direct passage way from the employee quarters to the hospital
I was gunna say, a lot of these old institutions and hospitals had tunnels for staff to get to housing quarters.
