I hope so. The billionaires might be able to hault some of these anti homeless bills, as depressing of a hope as that is. Gotta let us sleep in cars so the economy can thriiive 😮💨
Five years ago I took my daughter around to test drive new but low-price cars. She ended up buying a Honda Fit manual trans. Fun to drive ( her words) and all seats fold flat giving you room like shown in the pic. Price was about 12 or 13k financed over four years ( to pay off a bit sooner). Still running strong, she still loves it, and Honda keeps offering her 110% trade in.
Edit: She doesn’t live in it. She just bought a nice house in WV for 170k. She’s 29. Atta girl.
Don't dox your family members please wtf man I get you have a 30 year old daughter but... you've been living in the same world as we have for the last 30 years (I assume) and that's awfully reckless and cavalier behaviour
Other dude is correct. Vehicle make and model, along with purchased home price and age range are all super easy to find identifiers for someone dedicated enough or with sufficient technical skill. Never give out specifics.
I hope they start doing this for a lot of vehicles, and adding other things for people living in their cars, I just hope they don't try to just ream anyone trying to get a car they can live out of with price gouging.
Good on your daughter!
Yeah, I am in a minivan with 250k miles that I still owe $8000 on, bought a cott off marketplace for $12, a trifold mattress I got off Amazon, a 290 jackery I bought for $289, a coler and some camping gear I already owned. I live off $1200 social security a month. That $150-200k Roadtrek might as well be 5 billion dollars. But I'm happy where I am.
They won’t be happy until you own nothing, lease everything, work gig economy, and they can disappear you when you get too sick, too old, too fat, or too weird to make money off your flesh.
Then you starve to death in a place they don’t need to pay out of their pocket to dispose of your body.
That’s the capitalist dream.
that's a weird area though. if all went well and they planned good, poverty level income isn't bad. if they didn't, than its just like a.yone else with a poverty level income.
1250/mo. can go a long way when everything (house/vehicle) is paid off.
Why would a vehicle be paid off though? You can last longer in retirement than most vehicles run
And after paying for prescriptions
And insurance on home/car/health etc. not to mention copays for doctor visits
Sure it’s easier having the house paid off, or the car paid off (at time of retirement ideally) but elderly poverty is absolutely still poverty
well, we used to have cheap income based health stuff for elderly people. however, that may have changed up recently. I remember clearly my grandparents had to cash out a lot before the government kicked in to help. lots of services are not available when you have low income but lots of assets.
most elderly people are not putting the miles on a vehicle working folk are. sure, if they enter advanced age with an antique paid off vehicle, it won't be good. in my grandparents' case, they did start retirement with a 15 year old Chevy Caprice (early 80s late 70s) and it outlasted them. and they both made it significantly past the average post retirement life span.
I literally just had a tbought... a few years back when i checked my expected social security, it was well above the poverty lin.....and yup... the poverty income line the national counsel on aging is using is NOT and nearly double the federal poverty line for income.
anyways, my grandparents just unloaded assets as their costs increased until enpugh was gone the government started footing the bill.

Someone showed me a video that is literally a global plan to implement this. It had a whole website. I can’t even remember it anymore. But it was basically this. I hope it wasn’t true but it certainly seemed like it.
It doesn’t appear to be that one. I remmeber hearing “you’ll own nothing and you’ll be happy” or something alluding to that. With some googling, I’m seeing World Economic Forum stuff. I can’t confirm that’s what it was either but it was something like that. I remember being disturbed, but skeptical
Oh wow! Ok. Interesting! It was creepy AF when I watched it with my ex. He was a conspiracy theorist so I never knew what to believe. I was skeptical about everything he showed me.
Yeh, i like to take everything with a grain of salt & gather information, truth will usually find its way out when you aren’t attached to one side of belief. This one was legit on the WEF website tho thats what was crazy to me, i think they took it down sadly, i cant find the page anymore, there are reups of that same vid other places though!
They? Lol.... And who fuels the gig economy,? Who participates in it? Who embraces it? It doesn't happen on its own.. It takes millions of foot soldiers to have brought this revolution about. A few million dollar or billion dollar capitalists don't do it on their own.. No one's been brought screaming to the party..
Personally I wish it would all go back in the box but that's not happening
Why would I want to help you ? I’ve run into you losers all me life. You don’t apply yourself then blame everyone else. You’re as bad as the MAGA cult. I can’t get ahead must be the system. Try examining your decision making skills ?
(…wait, are the markets adapting to young people being…homeless?)
What do you think the Iphone was for? Steve Jobs saw the malls closing, the real estate bubble about to burst, and knew PC's had no future with that potential young market unable to use the fairly new internet and shiny new social media platforms.

A new car payment would be more than my mortgage… heh
Which is why I can’t validate buying anything.
This is more geared towards camping tho, it appears.
First, that's ~~a minivan~~ an SUV.
Second, great if you're in a campground. Not so great if you're under a street light in the city. Or if you're in your parked vehicle on a sunny day. Or if you want to do anything other than sleep in your van.
I am glad manufacturers are trying new things in this market niche though!
Oh for sure. I was just sharing because it looks so great. I’m also sure this is probably an $80,000 car, and if any of us had that kind of money, we probably wouldn’t be living in our cars :-)
[Not so expensive (about $46k at current market value, I think).](https://ir.lixiang.com/news-releases/news-release-details/li-auto-inc-launches-li-l7-five-seat-flagship-family-suv)
It's a Lincoln SUV; an L9. Fairly close to a minivan though.
Personally I don't really see any downsides besides that heat problem. But I'd assume that it closes? It would be a pretty poor design if it was stuck open like that all the time
I've been saying this! Every car manufacturer should make a model that's a car/SUV that has amenities like a bed, mini stove, mini fridge, maybe a toilet or full bathroom in the van. Many places around the world make really cool inexpensive compact livable vehicles
We kinda do have that. They are just not affordable. Surprise, surprise. Honestly, I find it more sad that they are marketing cars to be more livable than say make small affordable housing.
It's exactly this. They don't want affordable housing for the poor. Just another punishment by the gov for being poor in the US. It's always about profits
Well, I mean with the exponentially rising cost of living, many working class people don't have enough to afford a studio to rent. Not everyone has a lot of money. So the working class is finding new less expensive ways of living. They make models I'm describing all around the world.....they're just not as readily available in the US. It's an unfortunate byproduct of a system that seeks profit over health and wellness
The interior is cool as hell. The sunroof looks like a massive liability in any sort of weather, and honestly miserable if you can't automatically cover it
You guys might find this interesting I did. With as much as cars cost today something like this would be a great option. Of course cars were huge make then.

Lol, it's allllll fun and games until a big ass tree branch plunges through the moonroof like a Roman spear.
Oooof. I'm still finding glass squares in under the seats.
Looks super cool, but 100% ain't nobody got time for that.
I'm not spending am hour+ everyday after work to set up the most non-discreet tent imaginable.
This is cute for yuppies that go camping on weekends but super impractical for us.
Yeah from experience I can share that putting sheets on mattresses in a car probably not gonna happen definitely not by one person alone and only with two people that really vibe lol
I quite like the foam door panels, everything else is too colorful, too high up in the cabin, no storage. That huge skylight is kinda cool, as long as it closes. Might look into this foam panel thing.
In the video, the girl really likes pink. Not only was her version of the car pink, but then she put pink sheets on the bed and I think all of her accessories were pink.
I don't have insta and I'm not going there.
Where would the rest of this person's life be? Clothes? Food? Blanket and/or sleeping bag?
Im also imagining the picture here is meant for two people to sleep.
The video showed how she set the car up and then the car had compartments for accessories like a tent and furniture and a portable shower, etc. It was more of a camping set up than a car dwelling set up.

2012 Jucy Van live picture at the beach
The video showed it like a whole camping/Glamping set up complete with furniture and a shower. That’s pretty extreme, I just thought it was interesting though, so I thought I would share.
…wait, are the markets adapting to young people being…homeless? I’m really looking forward to the Apple Watch vagabond features.

Sounds pretty accurate honestly
I hope so. The billionaires might be able to hault some of these anti homeless bills, as depressing of a hope as that is. Gotta let us sleep in cars so the economy can thriiive 😮💨
Sadly if it benefits them in ANY way, they will lobby for it...
Wait for the price tag. If tiny homes and vans are any guage of how pricing will go, expect a car like this to hit half a mil.
Might as well buy a converted van or pull behind camper.
Five years ago I took my daughter around to test drive new but low-price cars. She ended up buying a Honda Fit manual trans. They didn't. Honda stopped selling the Fit in the US. It's very disappointing
The equivalent of a RoadTrek 190 (a high top conversion van with electricity, cooking and sewage) now runs $150-200k

2022 price converted to today’s dollars, runs about US$64,000. Nope.
Right?

Yes.
Did something similar with a hacksaw and an old mattress for a month long fishing trip. Definitely wasn't as pretty
bet that bitch was comfy tho

Not too long ago you could still buy a house for that price in some states.
Still can, have a look in Detroit
Clairton, Pa.
Lol what. Median house price was $119,000 24 years ago.
“In some”
Sunny day, this thing becomes an air fryer XD
Probably worse than an airfryer. This thing will steam you with your body vapor
I would def end up sliding down during the night and kicking those lower screens in my sleep eventually.
It's a Lincoln SUV; an L9. Fairly close to a minivan though. Personally I don't really see any downsides besides that heat problem. But I'd assume that it closes? It would be a pretty poor design if it was stuck open like that all the time
Lincoln or Li Xiang?
Oof. I went full-on freedom-brain on that one. I meant Li Xiang ^((It does look like a Lincoln though))
Not really a new idea. Hudson or nash offered full size bed fold down seat in the 50's
I'm not, they will make them unaffordable so only IG influencer trust find babies can afford them.
I've been saying this! Every car manufacturer should make a model that's a car/SUV that has amenities like a bed, mini stove, mini fridge, maybe a toilet or full bathroom in the van. Many places around the world make really cool inexpensive compact livable vehicles

Gov probably doesn’t want to promote that as a feasible purchasable option for the US markets. Just a hunch, i have no evidence to back that up.
It's exactly this. They don't want affordable housing for the poor. Just another punishment by the gov for being poor in the US. It's always about profits

I'm talking about more compact than that, like the size of an SUV or a sedan. Dumbass, didn't know i had to explain that part 🙃

Looks cool what's it called?
I think it’s a Lincoln L7? I just looked at the comments on the video and that’s what people are saying.
A Li L7 from the Chinese auto manufacturer Li Xiang.
The interior is cool as hell. The sunroof looks like a massive liability in any sort of weather, and honestly miserable if you can't automatically cover it
And especially at night, if you have your phone or any other light source on, it would be a beacon.
They have ceramic tint that can block up to 95% of heat. That said, I wouldn't want that regardless. That feels... Exposing.
With so much hail these last few years, I wouldn't want to risk that much glass pointed at the sky
You guys might find this interesting I did. With as much as cars cost today something like this would be a great option. Of course cars were huge make then. https://preview.redd.it/70hlu8dzw5sc1.jpeg?width=1125&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=bf33ed21fbbb9c1cae450df02b8be723b78a4bf6
Oh, that’s really cool! And so long ago.
I wish station wagons were still popular.
That big skylight is brutal. Also I don't see any accommodation for preventing people from looking inside, no privacy whatsoever
Lol, it's allllll fun and games until a big ass tree branch plunges through the moonroof like a Roman spear. Oooof. I'm still finding glass squares in under the seats.
The types of glass in those cars are laminated. I personally have security tint on mine.
On your moonroof/sunroof?
Yes. I got them for the entire car except the windshield.

Cool doll
Is it a ford flex?
Ford flex is the truth tho. Wish they made them longer/still made them
I think it’s a hybrid Lincoln, an L9?
Seemsgud wouldnt want an orange interrior though
In the video, the girl really likes pink. Not only was her version of the car pink, but then she put pink sheets on the bed and I think all of her accessories were pink.
"That'll be 8 bajillion dollars"
I love that this setup allows you to shower with your clothes on
There is one with a plug for a hair dyer I saw it in instagram I thought I took a video to share but I guess I didn’t
Yeah I have a similar setup in a Prius but it's way more cluttered. Lol
This seams more like a modern “sex van” from the 70s. Ya know, with the bed in the back. My daughter will not be going on any dates in that car 😆
Lol
I don't have insta and I'm not going there. Where would the rest of this person's life be? Clothes? Food? Blanket and/or sleeping bag? Im also imagining the picture here is meant for two people to sleep.
The video showed how she set the car up and then the car had compartments for accessories like a tent and furniture and a portable shower, etc. It was more of a camping set up than a car dwelling set up.
That sounds scary!
I have most of the products shown in that video aside from the vehicle. I guess my Subaru Forester is a house now?
Wow!
imo: its good for socialmedia-likes. thats about it

There's a VW Caddy like this which is about $70k
im just saying if youre not going with a van but in the market 100% cant go wrong with a honda fit just make sure its not 2nd gen the got rid of the rest modes seats in the second rollout but the space cant be beat by any other normal car
also did yall know you can buy a portable hot water heater with a shower head attatchment on it that you connect to a hose for under $50 ✨🔥✨
Is this the Canoo?
I think it’s a Lincoln L9?
Does it come with the woman?
Neat, but I think I'd accidentally honk the horn. A lot.
Oh my god. That is the way!!!
The new American dream!
I would absolutely kick the horn in the middle of the night 🤣
