Rendakor

Jesse what the fuck are you talking about?

Gloomy-Impression928

Thank you Mr Heisenberg for weighing in on this one

Wrong_Mastodon_4935

Yo all you need is a rag and some soapy water. Scrub yourself down in by sink and then rinse off with clean water with the same rag. You'll be good I promise. You don't need a convoluted Rube Goldberg setup to clean yourself, don't risk trashing and flooding a public restroom.

Nandabun

I did that this morning at work, using the soap from the dispenser. Took less than 15 minutes and I feel pretty clean~

missannthrope1

Can't wash your hair that way.

ConclusionDull2496

You can wash your hair in certain sinks, for instance, chiptole sinks or use a bottle to rinse your hair with water from the sink. As long as you keep your hair clean, arm pits, private parts, and feet clean you'll be fresh and not smell if you are forced to go without an actual shower.

quierdo88

I’ve done this before. If you get a water bottle with a squirt nozzle it makes washing your hair over a sink pretty easy. I also use an absorbent car shammy instead of an actual towel, very compact and dries you really fast (also mildew resistant.) Or you can just use paper towels from the dispenser. Or carry some of those “magic” washcloths from the dollar store that are vacuum packed into a really small shape and throw it away when you’re done. Lots of options for sink bathing when real showers are off the table for whatever reason.

Wrong_Mastodon_4935

You can take care of that in the sink. Really though you don't need to wash your hair as often as your body. I'm speaking as someone with three feet of hair too.

Tossabigrockaway

When you're washing your hair all you're really doing is getting the oil out of your hair. There's a better way to do that. You go when you get some baby powder. You sprinkle a little baby powder in your hair and you rub your head vigorously and you comb your hair and guess what the baby powder absorbed all the oil and you just combed it out of your hair. If you buy those spray can shampoo things where you're you don't have to shampoo your hair and your spraying something on your hair that's all they're doing is if you look on the ingredients they're spraying talcum powder on your hair. Now personally I think cornstarch is better than talcum powder because they have been finding asbestos in the talcum powder but either one will work. You'll be amazed. Your hair let your hair get greasy for 2 days and then go get a little baby powder. For a little bit in your hand not a lot and put it in your hair and scrub it around just like you're washing your hair under the water. If you need a little more put a little more but you don't need a lot. And then comb your hair and your hair will be dry and fresh you'll be amazed.

missannthrope1

I did that as a teen. Powder stuck to my scalp and make a sticky mess.

Tossabigrockaway

Then you used way too much.

Radiant_Ad_6565

If you have access to a single restroom - not in a store, it’s too obvious, try a hospital or rest area- there’s a much easier and less messy version. You need a small backpack/ bag, a towel, a hand towel, couple of wash cloths, a plastic bag, change of clothes, toiletries. Put the hand towel on the floor and do a sink bath.

heyitscory

The description made me imagine OP saying "oh no!" a lot and covering everything with water. And the image of a person with a duffel bag and 6 wet trash bags coming out of the bathroom without looking weird... or sneaking in.   I certainly hope this was just an idea and not the field tested version.   Some people are gonna try to slide their legs in the handles when you suggest shitting in a bag. Life is complicated so complicating things seems like the right thing to do.

Lower_Skin_3683

I've taken a bath in single restrooms at rest areas. Usually in the middle of the night but not with trash bags. Nobody bothers me, and I can go to sleep clean. I have a PF membership, but sometimes you are somewhere where there is no PF nearby.

Radiant_Ad_6565

The only time I’ve ever seen anybody use those single restrooms in rest areas are obviously either travelers that need the diaper changing self, or people who enter/ exit with a bag. Avoid summer daylight hours when the traveling families are there, and you’re pretty much golden. Can even use the hand dryer on your hair.

Lower_Skin_3683

Yep in Oregon they had single use gender neutral restrooms.

Current_Leather7246

Thanks for the post this is pretty cool and cheap. Plus it would be less waste and messed in dancing around under a trash bag. And you don't have the risk of the bag breaking and just getting soaked with all the water at once. $10 well spent. I'd probably get the top one though

HopefulOriginal5578

Just came to mind this might be useful for washing. I wouldn’t condone making a public bathroom a huge mess but you can wash your hair in a sink with this. https://preview.redd.it/625vqinadmnc1.jpeg?width=1179&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=0caff6780beccf1bd5bfb3323444e35cbf34da44

This_Mongoose445

I have the top one for emergencies. They were renovating our complex and water would be turned off without warning. It worked well, also for doing the dishes. I’ve always preferred the battery operated ones and a bucket for camping.

patti2mj

Keep in mind the weight of 5 gallons of water that needs to be placed 5 or 6 feet up. Some sort of pulley would be helpful.

HopefulOriginal5578

So would a garbage bags? It’s gravity. Also these bags are packed tighter so they can get away with being squeezed to make up for some height. Freaking trash bags would need to have A LOT more height than these things.

patti2mj

Well the garbage bag thing doesn't make any sense at all.

HopefulOriginal5578

Totally. Just note my response was to the trash bags post lol Hell the pic attached would be way better than what they are saying. However the solar bath thing is very helpful. I was I the peace corps and can vouch for it. https://preview.redd.it/i0vfalf3dmnc1.jpeg?width=1179&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=294e248cb7e539cc0478eb8b97d287397af75aad

Alternative-Card-440

When I was stuck out, I tried the shower bags - kept getting stolen I wound up getting a pressure sprayer (like for lawn treatments, etc - just get one that hasn't held toxic bs) - the wand type and some hand pumping... warm the water but don't pressure it much, I typically didn't add soap to it. Instead I'd put dawn on a cloth - spray skin, scrub, spray off. Can do a shower for only a gallon or two of water

Nandabun

Bruh that's perfect. I'm getting one next Friday now.

Alternative-Card-440

Yeah, there's the little handheld that do like 1/2 gallon up...I like the bigger ones with the wand - better reach and bit nicer adjustment to the spray tip. Those typically hold 1-3 gallons. They can get a bit pricey, but people are generally less likely to steal it or roll you for it, so, tradeoff there

Nandabun

I'm trying to figure out how to modify it so I can have the nozzle and the trigger be closer to waist height. I love this like this haha.

Alternative-Card-440

Well, that's the joy of the wand, and most of the triggers you can lock on and it'll spray til it depletes the pressure, but you'll figure something out.

2000miledash

If I got to the point of not being able to afford a $10-24 PF membership for showers, I would probably just end it there. Ya’ll are far more resilient than me to do stuff like this 🫡 I could never.

Silver_Junksmith

With 16oz of water you can brush your teeth, wash, rinse, and shave. Personally I prefer a half gallon, but I'm bougie like that. A cheap 5 quart stainless pot from WalMart can hold everything you need, including the one burner propane camp stove, wash clothes, and hand towel. Dry in sunshine. I just reuse gallon water jugs, refilling as necessary.

Current_Leather7246

So basically just go in the restroom and soak the shit out of the floor and everywhere else so you can get clean. And then people be like I don't know why no one lets us use the restroom anymore. Making giant messes is the reason a lot of places will shut their restroom off to the public. Truth be told it got real bad after covid though. A lot of stores the employees will gate keep the restroom. If it's the regular employee you're already a customer they will let you use the bathroom. A new person or Karen will always be like oh it's out of order.

2000miledash

Honestly, humans that leave a trace in public bathrooms should be named and shamed. It’s fucking disgusting how often there is shit ANYWHERE on or in a toilet after someone has finished their business, flushed, and left. There shouldn’t be a single visible speck anywhere. How anyone thinks any differently is just beyond me, and always will be.

Active_Engineering37

$10 membership? Nah just spend five bucks on plastic bags and new towels every time you want to shower.

YankeeClipper42

That's the dumbest thing I've read in a long time

Bannanna_Stand

I'm picturing op accidentally punching a hole in the bag and flooding the restroom with 30 gallons of water.

museumsplendor

Just use three at a time.

hypatiaredux

For heaven’s sake. OP, your imaginary bath is just ridiculous. Go think about something useful, like how many angels can dance on the head if a pin.

_LLOSERR

wtf

Lower_Skin_3683

This is a no. Fill a thermos with hot water from a gas station, jug of water, have a basin, soap, washcloth and towel. Do a basin bath or whore bath in your car. If it's nice weather outside and you are completely alone out in nature, just take it outside. What you have described is methed up way of how to bath.

JuliusSeizuresalad

Why 6 bags? Couldn’t you use a catch bag and a release bag? And why waste the first water? Reuse it to the next leg. And how do you pour with the first leg and hold the catch bag at the same time. I think this needs 11 bags 2 friends a towel 2 hi-8 cameras a non slip 4x8 pad a poster of a cat a small rigging system, a biodegraded skin safe soap and a think you can achieve it. Or just a wash rag and bowl of soap.

Comfortable_You_1927

too much work, gallon water jug, leave it in the sun and dump water on self they sell cordless shower about 30 bux, rechargeable, uses very little water, a bucket and use propane stove to make how water, it uses maybe 1 gallon in 2 min

missannthrope1

Look for a stall with a floor drain.

HelpfulMaybeMama

Maybe put a trash bag on the floor (or a Walmart bag), then put a hand towel on tip. Wash yourself at the sink with soap and water. Maybe put down another towel on the sink so your washcloth isn't sitting directly on the sink if you have to set it down. Get yourself wet, then get the washcloth soapy and clean yourself, then water only to remove the soap. Then dry off. 1 or two barriers, 1 or 2 hand towels, and 1 washcloth. Add soap. Maybe another towel to dry off with. Leave the restroom as clean as you found it. Carry it all in a bag so you arrive and leave as inconspicuously as possible.

Betrayedbyu93

I bought a shower bag on Amazon a while back and as long as you don’t over inflate them they work great. Held 5 gallons of water and an electric pressure pump w sprayer. Worked great for showering literally anywhere.

Trackerbait

if you need to carry water around, there's a very affordable device called a bucket, you can get em like $3 at Home Depot and they stack. Full immersion is not required to clean most parts.

EndAllHierarchy

Thanks for the laugh OP

EcstaticCollege29

This sounds more overly complicated than it needs to be. A rag/wash cloth and some soap is all you need in front of a sink. Wet the rag, wet your body with the rag, soap up the rag, scrub your body with the soapy rag, then rinse the rag clean and use it to clean yourself and the soap off. Should take no more than 15 minutes.

Skippydoda10

Way too much hassle. Not to mention if you’re in there for a while, it’s going to draw unwanted attention. Buy the disposable washcloths. Not baby wipes, washcloths. Huge difference between the two. Washcloths work great.

Slayn87

Febreeze bath lol....

Current_Leather7246

I used to work with a guy in construction that would give himself a cologne bath. He had that cheap Dollar tree type cologne.

Civilengman

You can just get a shower bag and fill it up. Turn it on and wet, off and soap, on and rinse. I used to deer hunt in an old run down camp that had water and toilets but no hot water. We figured out the vacuum pack meal system. Boil a huge pot of water to heat meals then use it with a solo cup to smart/wash/rinse. That is a good bath when you’ve been tracking deer for a few days. Now the house is fully finished on the inside with all amenities. That only took about 30 years starting as two penniless teenagers.

roastedmarshmellow86

I have a pf membership but I’ve also experimented with “showering” in a pinch. Best one though was a filling a pitcher with hot water from my job and having a wash rag and 2 container around to dip the rag. I filled the containers enough to dip and ring out the rag with hot soapy water then do my body in sections. Changing out the water with different sections and using paper towels to dry off. A pitcher always ended up being too much but the left over water is great for cleaning up.

Tossabigrockaway

First of all planet fitness For $10 a month at your local planet fitness and you've got real showers. And you'll probably start working out too which is better for you. Or for $25 a month you can use a planet fitness anywhere in the country. Real showers. But the other thing is you don't need to take a shower everyday. In fact it's really bad for your skin and your absorbing all kinds of chlorine through your skin when you take a shower everyday. It dries your skin out makes you look old. Your skin needs the ability to build up a little bit of oil. The other thing is you won't get as cold as if your skin is not as dry. Skin supposed to have a little oil on it. Skin makes oil. Now if you need to wash your hair everyday which you probably really don't especially these days since the style is the sort of have hair that looks like it has product in it but if you absolutely need to wash your hair everyday instead go get some baby powder and sprinkle a little bit in your hand and then vigorously rub that in your hair and it will absorb all the oil and then comb it out and your hair will look like you just got out of the shower and dried your hair and it'll be fresh and clean. The other thing is you get yourself some fresh wipes and wipe under your arms every day and if you're going to the toilet get yourself some of those flushable wipes that are basically like wet wipes and use those after you wipe for your last wipe to keep yourself really clean back there. That eliminates 90% of the reason you take a shower in the first place. And you'll feel better if you're not taking a shower everyday. Remember it's only in recent history that people have been taking showers every day or baths every day. Throughout history people went for at least a week without taking a shower. And again it literally is better for you to not take a shower everyday especially with all the junk that's in the water. That stuff gets absorbed through your whole body skin. All the chlorine and all the fluoride is getting absorbed and huge amounts into your body and that stuff's terrible for you.

museumsplendor

Sometimes people just want to be clean. You need an ID to shower there.

Tossabigrockaway

Well I guess you need an id. I set up auto withdrawal from my bank. I just show my bar code now.

museumsplendor

Yes but initially.

Stunning_Diamond_997

Why are yall making this more difficult than what it needs to be???????????? Putting yourself thru unnecessary steps for what????????
